Schott has a few I like- the Duke 370 and their Storm (forgetting the model number). Aero has a really luxurious suede that’s used on their Majestic model but can be for other models too. Folks like the Valstar jackets which are less robust but stylish. There are many many options really. I’m selling my Duke just because my style preference changed. It’s a great jacket
@@DudsByDel I know. They just got large back in stock (probably low amount due to return or something) unfortunately I don’t get paid till next week 😂… p641
Don’t compare a $350 to a $800 jacket! Of course it’s not and $800 jacket. The only thing you said that made sense is when you compared it to a $500 mall jacket, which makes the Thursday jacket a steal in terms of what you get and payed for.
We have to set a baseline for expectations. And some folks literally hype this jacket up by saying it’s better than $800 jackets they’ve bought. My point is that it is in fact a more reasonable comparison to a mall jacket. But it’s no $800 jacket magically priced at $350

Hi love your videos, can you help me with the following question, which is better? black aniline badalassi steer hide or black pigment Shinki hikaku? Thanks
They will both be great jackets. The pigment dye jacket will have at least somewhat more protection from rain etc. without knowing more about the particular hides (like the weight for example) hard to say more.
Hey man. I think the Daytona would be more robust- the Buffalo weight they give is around 3oz, heavier YKK hardware. But not sure about build quality or how the jacket works on a body vs just flat
Great review! Though I haven't bought any of their items, Thursdays have been around when it comes to fashionable boots (like the matte/washed ones). But in terms of leather jackets.....
Really wanted to say thanks for this video. I need a new brown cafe racer and based off a few (sponsored) UA-cam videos I started to lean towards the Anejo version of this jacket which is currently sitting in my cart. Decided to do one last check for reviews since I live in Ireland and returning the jacket would be a nightmare and yup, this jacket would have been a complete waste of $500.
Glad I could help ya make a better decision. Have you considered Aero? You’re in the neighborhood so to speak…they do sales from time to time which could get you down to around that price range
@@DudsByDel I dont know why but for some reason I thought Aero was based in Japan, not the UK. I'm looking for something along the lines of their Board Racer jacket - a Cafe Racer with a modern tailored fit. Unfortunately, it seems they don't offer it in brown.

I have had several. They make some beautiful jackets. None of the ones I had worked from a fit standpoint…not sure what the deal is but seems like I might be in the category of folks that their neck and shoulder pattern doesn’t work for
Hey man. Great review! If u were to recommend ur #1 leather racer jacket in the entire world - which would it be? (I’m currently looking for a leather suede type of jacket)
Suede racer? Hmm not sure. 1) I really like the Schott Duke even though it’s fallen out of my personal style (mines for sale 😅). 2) Suede isn’t too commonly used for cafe racer styles but you may be able to get one from Aero, Langlitz, Johnson Leather or another custom maker
Ni e jacket but SCHOTT makes them better. Racer style jacket. Cowhide way better durable overall quality. When a jacket is 5 pounds is thick, good grain quality and if it goes over like 7 pound and stands by itself is an armor like the Schott P613S .
Hey man the belt is made by Duke_Mantee on Instagram. He’s kinda known for doing specialized inlays and stud work but can turn out a simple belt like this with nice hardware too. I also really like the Pigeontree belt.

Looks a jacket made for the more fast fashion industry. Granted 300+ bucks isn’t cheap but I don’t feel the craftsmanship and tlc with this one. Definitely would be a better idea to buy a used Schott or what have you.
Well I’m completely with you. Part of this review for me was figuring out who would be interested in this jacket. Clearly they’re selling! So to me they’re competing with the mall jackets and their crazy unreliable pricing
heh didn't realize you were the same reviewer till now. I always thought lamb was a more expensive material. They seem to use lamb on a lot of expensive jackets.. I guess they fooled me. Plus isn't there like grades of leather like full grain , top grain etc. The Schott jacket im looking at for 700 says genuine leather I believe it's lamb, but they don't say what kind of leather oddly. I don't think it has any insulation in it either. hopefully it's thicker than the thursday jacket.
Hey man! I like the reviews, you saved me from buying this one, im going to buy a schott 118, but not sure how the sizes exactly work. Im 5’10ish 205, would a size 42 work? I wear a Large but would probably layer with the jacket
So I think standard advice for 118 is to size down for a trim fit, and go with your standard size for a loose fit. Do you know your suit size? (PS I’d be grateful if you follow the link in this video description to the Schott site if you buy from them). Also Schott is having a 15% off sale right now
@@CtdnCA yeah that’s correct. It may be a little loose but if you plan to layer then should be good. I’m 5’9 175 lbs and would wear a 38 in the 118, but no plans to layer heavily

Hey man! Not sure what the leather is since it’s just called Full Grain Leather…is it cow or lamb? Dunno. It will be simply constructed and likely rather lightweight.
I ordered one of these in one of the brown color ways. It was so bad that my SO thought it was a fake jacket. I seen fakes better then this… she asked if the color was painted on. If you try to leave a bad review (under 3 stars) Thursday censors it on their site. I offered they should make them on par with allsaints and undercut them… 🤷♂️
Great review! I was about to buy a Thursday Jacket and I learned that they use the cheapest leather material available. NOPE, I guess Im spending more money X(
Great video, Del! I recently reviewed the same jacket, and really liked it. I appreciate the knowledge you bring to your niche and hope the people who watched my video come and watch this one too.
This is not a jacket for a motorcycle or an outdoor type of guy. But it is perfect for a more sophisticated city dweller fit guy who is looking for a comfortable dressy leather jacket for summer, fall, and spring nights out in town. Unlike those thick heavy japones types of jackets, my experience has been this is the type of leather jacket that women appreciate and love to touch.😊
@@patricio3841 what’s funny is you insult the Rainbow Country jacket as being only for people “built like an Asian” which I most certainly am not. Then you comment that this cheap Thursday jacket is for sophisticated guy impressing women. I cannot agree with you on either count
Come on Amico! I'm not insulting Rainbow. They make beautiful jacket, but based on my experience, this jackets don't fit well on a 6"2, 210 lbs, Italiano man like mysel who goes to the gym every day. Now, my experience with Thursdays was that they are cheap, comfortable, good-looking, easy to dress up, disposable jacket that you can wear for a couple of Otoms and Springs and get rid of it!
I would just hope that folks would give an honest opinion. I think Alpha M is a good example of over hype which is why I included him. But some others take a more measured approach, or simply wear the jackets without any commentary
Perhaps, but I’ve had a pleasant experience with the company in the past (for their boots). Never tried their jackets but based on the reviews I am not interested.
When I searched for Thursday boot reviews (not UA-cam influencers), there were quite a lot of bad reviews surrounding comfort, quality and longevity. I’m based in the UK so would have to pay a high import tax so was out off anyway, but the reviews put me off even more.
My father had a pair of Thursday boots and they literally fell apart in a few months. The sole came right off on one like it was just glued on with a fake Goodyear welt for looks. The leather didn't look all that great out of the box either. They're definitely a hype brand and all made overseas with possibly unethical practices, who knows with fast fashion brands.
It sounds like he kicks curbs or drags his feet. I have a pair with hundreds of miles with no damage other than expected sole wear. Also, there is no sea between Mexico and the rest of North America
Thanks man. To me it’s not necessarily a bad jacket. It’s just not a jacket for everyone. And I certainly don’t think it’s better than what you can get for $800.
Omg , on websites the jackets looked good , so I went to the store , I do live in nyc . I went to the store and saw the jackets and they all were cheap leather felt to thin and low quality , I just walked out
Yeah that Alpha M guy pushes Thursday hard. I knew there was something wrong when I clicked on his video. I'm keeping it simple. I purchased a black cafe racer Iron Heart Japanese horse hide and am "trying" to purchase a dark brown Aero Leather cafe racer. Both have the non flappy collar since i ride constantly and hardly ever drive.
Sure. But there are “fashion” jackets that are more robust, even lamb ones. It would be different if Thursday didn’t try to sell them as robust lifetime pieces
Yes, easily. It’s why I recommend going for a used Schott or Vanson if you’re looking for something at the Thursday price range if you want something that will last

😂😂😂 That would be better. Remember in 2020 when folks were hoarding toilet paper? Made an agreement with some friends that the first to get covid would win the toilet paper trophy
I agree, it’s just a simple jacket & for that reason itself, it’s overpriced imo. The leather doesn’t look high quality & rather dull. Don’t think this jacket will patina well, probably because it is heavily chrome dyed. Don’t see an x-factor or something exclusive either. So for a good leather jacket, this jacket is just bland.
Inexpensive materials and inexpensive construction…I agree with you for the most part. The silver lining here is that people that want this kind of jacket could find one to fit them
@DudsByDel I didn't like that the heel counter on their Captain was so collapsable and soft, no support at all vs. the Vanguard. Their sneakers are better.
Thursday is ok, but Boda Skins is next level and Boda's leather is better that then any designer brand, but for starter lux I would go Allsaints all day long, modern designs, subtle and edgy!
If you’re paying a few hundred bucks for a jacket you gotta know it’s just ok. I agree that these people get paid to prop this. Probably made in Pakistan I assume. I’m a bit of a jacket snob but you do get what you pay for. Let the buyer beware. Can anybody say “ first world problems “😂
Yeah, I think folks that don’t know could get something that’s not what they expect…heck just look at the comments here on this video! Mine was made in Turkey but I know what you mean about Pakistan

why is everyone hyping up this ecommerce brand that came out of no where and doesnt have a long rich history like others. does thursday pay youtubers to promote it? it was founded by two cringe mba students. i would never purchase anything from them.
well theres no rule written that only 200 year old clothing companies can be hyped is there? thursdays does actually give affordable jackets at decent quality, nobody wants to buy overpriced leather jackets anymore in this economic situation
@@stefanhnavetsea1588 it’s a good point and one I didn’t include in the video. I.E. what style of jacket is this. It’s like the copy of a copy of a copy of a cafe racer. Even including zips on the sleeves would go some way towards a more authentic style
@@DudsByDel honestly I think it is just mainly cost saving the same with no zipper on the hand warmer, because sewing zippers on pocket is more challenging than a single pocket welt, the same with zipper on the cuff and there would be triangular gusset another leather panel and more time in manufacturing.

Have to imagine they will be similar. The type of hide matters, but if it’s the lightest cowhide available it will still be someone like this lambskin
@@DudsByDel after looking up several reviews I can confirm you yare correct
What suede jacket would you recommend?
Schott has a few I like- the Duke 370 and their Storm (forgetting the model number). Aero has a really luxurious suede that’s used on their Majestic model but can be for other models too. Folks like the Valstar jackets which are less robust but stylish. There are many many options really. I’m selling my Duke just because my style preference changed. It’s a great jacket
Need your opinion on the new Schott Japanese horsehide racer jackets
I think they’re sold out already? Which model are you curious about?
But it’s no $800 jacket magically priced at $350
Hey what do you think of fieldleathers?
Great jackets. Greg seems like a stand up guy. Gotta wait, but he did just add another person to his team!
@@DudsByDel I will make an order this next week, I am not sure how long I should have the back done, I am 5ft 6, I don’t like long jackets, do you reckon 24 inch back length is about right?

Actually the material doesn't bother me that much, I ended bought a matte black racer from the marketplace for like half price (brand new, tags still on), it is light and soft, actually I quite like it.. most important is, the simple design of the jacket :)

How would this compare to master supply co leather jackets, specifically their Daytona?
Hey man. I think the Daytona would be more robust- the Buffalo weight they give is around 3oz, heavier YKK hardware. But not sure about build quality or how the jacket works on a body vs just flat
thanks for the response. I actually decided to order one of their "flashier" jackets instead, the Belvedere reload. @@DudsByDel
Thanks for the detailed review! Quick question what do you think of 2nd hand Aero jackets?
Oh i think they can be great. I have one!
Great review! Though I haven't bought any of their items, Thursdays have been around when it comes to fashionable boots (like the matte/washed ones). But in terms of leather jackets.....
Thanks man!
outstanding review. so glad to see someone who knows his stuff and isnt some sponsored trash trying to promote the jacket
Really appreciate it man
Interested which fit you got yours in? Slim or Relaxed? Thanks for the review!
Hey man I got the athletic fit
@@joekiernan6915 they have a ton of brown options. If anything Aero excels at, it’s their leather choices. Badalassi has been the favorite premium option since its introduction. Be wary of the Front Quarter Horsehide unless you want to work at the break in (then it’s great)
What m would you recommend for a beginner to leather jackets. I was looking at Thursday because I have a pair of there boots and they are nice. Would you say the jacket is worth it or should I look elsewhere.
@@That_1940s_Delinquent I feel like if you want the real deal, go for used Schott, Vanson, Aero. There are so many good used and vintage jackets. But if you want to buy new and can’t spend much more than $350 you may consider Master Supply co. I think it’s a much better jacket than Thursday for just $100 more
@@DudsByDel ok thanks I will look into it
I would love to see your take on Aero Leather from Scotland. They made excellent leather jackets.
I have had several. They make some beautiful jackets. None of the ones I had worked from a fit standpoint…not sure what the deal is but seems like I might be in the category of folks that their neck and shoulder pattern doesn’t work for
Hey man I was just going through my comments section and saw yours again. If you didn’t know, I reviewed an Aero Highwayman recently
@DudsByDel Great! I would definitely check it out! 👍
2) Suede isn’t too commonly used for cafe racer styles but you may be able to get one from Aero, Langlitz, Johnson Leather or another custom maker
does the metal button on the wrist area go through to the inside, i'm worried it might scratch an expensive watch, thanks!
Hey man not sure!
Ni e jacket but SCHOTT makes them better. Racer style jacket. Cowhide way better durable overall quality. When a jacket is 5 pounds is thick, good grain quality and if it goes over like 7 pound and stands by itself is an armor like the Schott P613S .
Oh sure. I really like Schott jackets, take a peek around my channel 😁
I don't own anything Thursday but I did notice only the Black leathers are lamb, the rest are bovine. Just curious, what belt is that?
Hey man the belt is made by Duke_Mantee on Instagram. He’s kinda known for doing specialized inlays and stud work but can turn out a simple belt like this with nice hardware too. I also really like the Pigeontree belt.
I was thinking of buying this jacket so thank you for your honest review! You got my subscription sir :) What would you think is the better alternative for this jacket at this price point?
@@HaroLi41 hey thanks for stopping by! My first recommendation would be a used Schott, Vanson, or Aero. (Or others like Brooks) But if you want to buy new, I liked the master supply co jacket a lot more than Thursday and it was only $100 more
@@DudsByDel Got it. Actually was looking for second hand Schott's and I think I can make it work with my budget. If anything, I'm thinking of just saving up extra for a better product. Thanks and here's to your continued success 🥂
Also Schott is having a 15% off sale right now
Unfortunately I dont know my suit size haha, but i usually wear a Large in jackets i saw 40 is comparable to a medium? And 42 to a large?
@@CtdnCA yeah that’s correct. It may be a little loose but if you plan to layer then should be good. I’m 5’9 175 lbs and would wear a 38 in the 118, but no plans to layer heavily

Hey Chris really appreciate it!
My father had a pair of Thursday boots and they literally fell apart in a few months. The sole came right off on one like it was just glued on with a fake Goodyear welt for looks.
