Was in the presence of a $200k Chrome Hearts croc skin leather jacket. It was custom made and ordered by a high profile customer. The skins were symmetrical. The zips had black diamonds. The most gorgeous leather jacket I’ve ever seen.

If you have unlimited money for a leather jacket go have it tailored and custom made.
Idk, I don’t think it would look that great. Custom and tailored is great for certain items, but I wouldn’t necessarily trust them to make something that is “now” or “en vogue”.

@@princegobi5992 the unique nature of bespoke is that you can personalize stuff to how you want it, if you wanted a modern jacket a good tailor could make it for you

$500-$1500 - Belstaff or Schott NYC
$1500-$$$$ - The Real McCoy or just custom tailor made
For the midrange id go with Aero.
You can pickup Belstaff for $35o at Nordstrom Rack. I prefer Lewis Leathers over the Real McCoy.

Faux leather will not age nearly as nicely as traditional leather. I think that's the main draw to leather jackets in general - you're going to be wearing these pieces for a very long time and they will age with grace if you take care of it.
I don’t understand why they made that choice. Well most choices were not very good. They didn’t eve talk about Lewis Leathers.

They act like you can't get a vintage one for under $100. And it would be better quality than many of the $500+ options
As mentioned by others, AllSaints on sale has absolute steals. Copped a vegetable tanned lambskin jacket and it has become my second skin. It's supple and developing a beatiful patina.
If I had unlimited budget my dream pick would be the Undercover x Lewis Leathers Lightening Jacket
Jeff Goldblum rocking a Saint Laurent Biker jacket with a white button up shirt, a grey snake print silk tie, suit pants, black boots, silver rings and a watch is God Tier style icon imho
How much for the allsaitns in sale?
In major leather-producing countries like India or Pakistan, you can get a jacket that is the same quality and style as a $500 range jacket shown here for $30-50.
Goes to show how much customers abroad have to (unknowingly) pay for freight charges, brand labels & store rent.
500 for a fake leather?
If you're buying a Saint Laurent leather jacket for your first leather get an L01 or shop pre-loved for an L17.
In fact leathers are made to last and show more personality with age, there is no real reason to buy a top quality leather brand-new, there's loads available on the secondary market. Save money, save the environment.

All Saints is another great alternative for leather jacket around and under $500
Was going to comment the same! Grailed has lambskin leather All Saints jackets for $200. I got the Wick jacket (originally $600) for $200!
I own two all saints, superb quality and fit that doesn’t ask for anything to those that are too expensive.
I would get a Belstaff for $350 at Nordstrom Rack.

Ralph Lauren is the style icon period, personally, and the clothes he shares with the world. I was disappointed Jeff Goldblum, or Harry Styles, or G Eazy weren't mentioned as leather jacket icons.

If I had more money to get one leather jacket it would get a Himel bros leather those jackets are beautifully made and feel so good to wear.
Mova Leather has great styles and they also offer customization for less than most of these. I got mine for 300 and it's so worth it.

i’ve seen an allsaints leather jacket at a thrift store. they dont have the quality that i expect for the price of pieces. so basically drop em.
I have over 6 allsaints leathers and some have been with me for over 6 years and they’ve lasted really well. So idk what these comments about the quality is.

If the criteria is quality vs price I wouldn’t go for Celine or saint Laurent
-500$ go vintage or a lesser know biker brand on sale
500$ - 1500$ you’re good with schott and maybe a lewis leathers if you can get your hands on one
1500$ + go with Japanese repro brands, you’ll find some good cheaper alternatives to real McCoy and a jacket that will last forever
But if you buy Celine for 3k + you’re basically buying 300-600$ quality with a nice tag
What got me was the panels on the celine, never heard of em but i saw the like 7ish pannels on the back and i was like really

Complete fail. Fake leathers and Saint Lauren for recommendations, might as well go for All Saints for a fraction of the price for similar quality. I'll give them Schott but no Aero leather, Eastman or any of the Japanese brands for 1k and above? I guess this a brand name over quality thing.
In summary the schott cafe racer is the best no matter what your budget is.
One of my favorite jackets is a Schott 141 Cafe Racer. Good call.
