Thank you! The drums in this video are constructed of a relatively thin maple shell. I have double ply clear heads on the toms and I've put cast rims on the snare as I find that thin of a shell on the snare drum leaves a little to be desired without a bit of weight on the rims.
Thank you for another great video on building a groove and a fill from a simple looking pattern! As a lesson idea, would you also consider making videos on progressively simplifying an already complete beat into simpler and simpler versions of it?
Awesome content per usual. Wanted to throw something out there related to my approach to learning grooves and patterns to see what your thoughts are. I've never been one to be regimented enough to sit down and learn a groove like this. It's easier for me to learn something simply by listening and take out the pattern altogether. Learn it slowed at first and then build up speed. Am I just a moron or is this an "okay" approach?
This approach is just is just fine. Any way that gets the information into the grey matter so that a beat, fill groove etc... can be accurately reproduced works.
Nice stuff Gabe! Bruford was my favorite!
Thank you Paul. Thanks for checking it out
That was smooth brother!!
Those drums sound sweet!!👍

My Favorite fusion drummer is actually a “toss up” between three cats, Mr. Dave Weckl, Mr. Vinnie Colaiuta, and Mr. Sonny Emery.
Sonny Emery, yes! Nobody has mentioned him yet.
@@DrumTipTuesday I had the rare opportunity to watch Sonny in a intimate setting, and he just Floored everyone in the room!!!

@@DrumTipTuesday
I don't have that book either. But, I do have Bill Burford's autobiography. It's excellent!!
Excellent vids - nice style style and explanations - HNY ! cheers from Sydney 😎
It's nice to hear from Sydney. It's been many moons since I played a contract on a ship that used the city as its turn around port.
Hope you got some time to look around
Has to be Billy Cobham the father of fusion drumming followed by Lenny White .
No doubt! ...and he seems to bee the favorite of most people who commented.
Gotta go with Mike Clark
