@@Thought-Forms when I came along your channel, I was surprised you didn't use something like Reason as your DAW. What drew you to Bitwig? I've heard so much good shit about it recently. It's PRICEY though. Some more Bitwig talk would be sick. Dude, embrace the chug.
I really like how you often give us the history behind a certain method of producing, the genre you’re talking about, etc. it really provides some great insight
Lovely track. Your channel is a Time Machine back to my 20s. Thanks for keeping the best of the 90s atmospheric dnb alive. Makes me wish I still had my Akai S2000.
What a way to start out the year! I love listening to Lonnie Liston Smith and always felt as if I was being transported into another realm while listening to his beautiful chords.
I love this tune couldn't stop listening to it once I first heard it. Again thanks for showing us the ropes love jungle as a whole especially the down tempo stuff. Didn't know until now that it was a Lonnie Liston smith sample
Cheers friend! Happy to help. Finding out the sample sources to a lot of these old tunes is often mind blowing, shows the creativity of folks from that time
Getting solid loops and knowing how to work with them is for sure super important for all the oldskool tracks! J Dillas hiphop sampling capabilities was out of this world! 🎉
This is a great video Bobby, in fact one of your best and pretty much covers everything anyone needs to know 😊 …. But for me that liston smith sample is too pitched down as greenhalge’s version of it timed with the break chop is just imprinted in my mind 😂 you should have come up with it first and then yours would have been!
Another awesome video! 🤩 Thank you! One question: does the presets from the Intelligent Jungle Pads vol. 2 you mentioned at 8:35 also work with the Triton Extreme plugin or just with the Triton plugin?
Thanks mate! Honestly I'm not sure if they would work on the Extreme...I'd say probably not to be safe. That said, if you get the Korg Triton VST from Korg you'll get both the Triton and Triton Extreme, so can load in the "original" triton :)
Really love the downtempo jungle, this needs to be appreciated more. Sometimes 170bpm got my heart racing 😂
Amen! Going back recently, didnt realize how a lot of these early early ambient tunes were sub 160. they just chug along so nicely

Much appreciated! I find out a lot researching for these videos, so love to share a little bit of history too for those that find it interesting :)
You're like the Bob Ross of sampling!
LFG mate, Bob Ross is my spirit animal

Cheers mate! If you get the itch again....the s2000s are still pretty cheap on ebay if I recall, at least compared to the 900/950s/3000/3200's etc
I love what you're doing on this channel man. Even people who don't mainly make old-school DnB can learn a thing or two from these videos.
Thanks pulsar! Appreciate the sentiment, and big fan of your tunes. Much love

Cheers michael! Incredible musicianship for sure. Cant get enough of those silky tripped out EP notes & chords
All you need is a hardware sampler.
Time to put out a free Thought Forms edit out there. :)
Mid 90s ambient producer starter pack for certain Ipswich legends was Aphex Twin and FSOL. ♥
this channel has quickly become one of my favorites on youtube. Thank you!!!
thanks woozie! stoked you're here & hanging on the discord now
Can I ask why you worked in groups of 12 bars instead of 16? Having some trouble understanding the choice and why it works! Super sounding track
No reason mate, just wasn't really paying attention to bar length. If I were doing something for release I'd go 8 or 16 bar groups. Cheers friend!
Lol look at Shogun with the vintage Cowboys snapback...swag
Man that dude was SLICK with it
great as always, thank you
I love that song by Q Project!
Keep em coming! Love the informational content

Super hard to do too, kind of incredible how folks dreamt this stuff up back in the day without the resources available now

Shoegaze inspired video next?
Hmmmm...Can look into 8)

Sweet. Def need to get some more of your preset packs. Cause I'm lazy and you're great.
Haha thanks mate. If you can hold off, have a new Triton pack on the way this is the best one yet....imo ;)
@@Thought-Forms too late... already bought the intelli jungle 2 and emu pack🙂
