" that's a big one sister" my mom use to call me sister as well and just that sweet sentence brought tears to my eyes. She passed away 12 years ago and I have been missing her so much especially during the holiday season.
My Mom called me Sister, Sister Suzy and Sister Sue. We were outnumbered at home by two brothers and Daddy...I guess it was a girl-solidarity thing, but I miss it too. 🥺
I understand your feelings. Blessed be. 💞🙋🏻♀️
I use to call my oldest daughter sister and unfortunately she passed away 13yrs ago I miss her terribly especially during the Holiday season 😢
@@LuwanaWard1974 I'm so sorry. May the Lord hold you a little closer through the season we celebrate Him. 💔
I lost my mom 2 years ago, and that brought a tear to my eyes too. There were four of us girls, my little sister passed away in 1999. My mother had four girls by the time she was 21 in the early 1950’s (different times back then) so she kind of grew up with her daughters, and calling us “sister” made us giggle when we were little, but when she called us sister when we were older, we knew we were in trouble lol.
2 C softened butter
2 2/3 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
Creamed together 2 minutes.
4 eggs whisked
2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
6 C flour
Mix until we’ll incorporated, chill covered over night.
Thank you!
The recipe is at the end of the video, Thank you for sharing
Thank you little house big family
Great cookies! Merry Christmas to you!!❤
Thank u is that unsalted butter?
Luv to see this! In Ohio we dip the peanut butter balls with a toothpick to leave peanut butter peaking through & call them buckeyes ❤
My daughter makes puppy chow with crispix cereal now. It's more sturdy. Also she puts it in her biggest Tupperware container and shakes it until chocolate is coated, then shake the powder sugar on.
I have to thank you for all your shows. I grew up in a very small town in New Hampshire and our lunch ladies made the best food. I thank you and all the lunch ladies out there for feeding us like we were your own. This was in the 1960s and I will never forget how good it was. Anne
I just love that unmistakable sound of a Bosch. You knew there was going to be some serious baking going on when you heard the Bosch start up. :)
This was an awesome video. Your daughter is so gracious and polite. Love her kitchen.
Wow so much fun to bake with daughters
I love her kitchen too
Me too!
Me too!!!😊
She should be happy to have a mom like you, helpful, talented and loving. :)
Thank you
What a blessing to be with your daughter baking cookies an candy.
Brittney's kitchen cabinets are so awesome! Watching you guys cook all that together brought back a lot of memories from doing the same with family over the years. 🙂
Thank you
I absolutely love your vintage pictures of older Christmas times, ladies at church pot luck dinners, etc. Brings back such lovely thoughts of a better, more sane time. Thank you, Miss Lori. 🙏
Thank you Ms Britney for letting us come into your beautiful home. God bless you and your family. MERRY CHRISTmas
Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
What a treat to spend the day with you and Brittany in her kitchen. You made a great team! Boy, your day was a busy one, but the Lord certainly blessed you with the strength and energy to do all that you did. See you soon, and God bless you!
Fun and a lot of yummies! Brittney's Christmas tree was beautiful.
I'm making Christmas cookies, right now... lol
I’m making Christmas Cookies also. 12-12-22
I just thought I would tell you that I love your granddaughter kitchen cabinets and the whole kitchen just love love it. She looks like she knows her way around the kitchen and you don’t always see that in young women
Can we come to yours for CHRISTMAS.????. Lots of Blessings ,. Hugs ,. and Health to you and all your family for CHRISTMAS and every wish you could ask for from Liverpool England 🇬🇧.
Come on!!
What a video this was!!! I think I gained 10 lbs. just watching it!! Oh my everything looked so yummy!! Time with family is so precious!! Love and hugs from KY!!
Thank you for sharing this! There is nothing better than cooking with your daughter! I knew she would be sweet just like her momma. Lovely home, too!
We have candy and cookie making days with our whole family this time of year! We can gather up to 10-20 gals in the kitchen on these days young and old! It is beautiful memories I hope to continue to pass down for generations to come. God bless all who are watching and remember this is the time of our Lord and Saviour’s birth. Love and prayers to all. ❤️🙏🏻
I feel like we are friends. Thank you for being such a wonderful lady. Thanks to your family also for being welcoming. You all have brought such warmth to my heart and yummy goodies to my home. GOD BLESS, Brooke
Thank you
Brit’s kitchen is amazing! Love love love ♥️🙌
Cooking together is so much fun! I love that more than eatting the goodies.
My favorite memories of the holidays was my sister and I helping Mother make all the Christmas goodies. I miss her so much this time of year because she loved it so much.
It was hared to concentrate on the recipes, I was busy staring at those gorgeous cabinets! Thank you for sharing your family with us!
Happy Christmas from Ireland to you all. God bless and protect you and your family 🙏🕊️💚☘️🇮🇪
Thank you so much
Stand up for your culture Ireland.
Wow you all made a TON of cookies and candy!!! Thank you so much for sharing ALL of it with us!!! God Bless!!!
We had a dishwasher just like your. We kept our cow's milk in it. We had cheesecloth that we strained the milk through. We would wash the cheesecloth and hang on the line to dry till the next milking. My brothers milked in the morning and my 2 older sisters and I had the evening milking. We lived in 100 year old house, and dad built a screened in porch to connect the house to the kitchen and dining room.
Oh! MS.LORI I ❤ YOU FOR BLESSING THE TIMES I CAN WATCH YOUR VIDEOS! I JUST ENJOY SO MUCH THE LOVING KINDNESS AND THE LOVE OF THE LORD IN YOUR LIVES THAT YOU AND MR.BROWN SHARE WITH US! GOD LOVES YOU AND THIS CHILD OF HIS DOES ALSO
❤🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏😊
You can also add some red and green M&Ms to the puppy chow. Or any color depending on the holiday!!
Congrats to Alli. Samantha, you and your family are such generous souls. God bless you all greatly this Christmas season and always!
Your daughter and her home is beautiful. And nice too see mom and daughter in the kitchen making memories. Old video and I finally came across it. Thanks for sharing 😊
Barbara
Reminds me of my momma and Gramma. My Gramma was a baker and confectioneur. She would make large batches of homemade chocolates, pies, cinnamon rolls, etc . And my momma loved the holidays and would make almond Roca, chocolate peanut butter fudge, muddy buddies (our version of puppy chow), cake box cookies, and all kinds of goodies. The treats at the end were great but the time with my momma, gramma, and siblings was priceless.
Love the blending of the old (the enamel mixing bowl) and the new (computer) to bring together the delicious baked goodies.
Hello Dear
How are you doing today?
Sweet daughter and family , and beautiful home ! All the candy and cookies looked delicious !! Thank you for sharing ! Blessings to you all.
That reminds me of the time when my mother and I would bake cookies and make candles of all different kinds and yes I understand how it is to miss your mother
Nothing like spending time with family. Your daughter is beautiful. All the goodies look delicious. We call the puppy food, reindeer food. Have a blessed Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season.
Special time with your daughter, that is what Christmas is all about and helping each other.🎄❤️
Enjoyed so much coming along while yall did some baking !! Your daughter is precious ( and I bet that little fellow was your sweet grandson ~ he's a cutie ) 💓
Soften up cream cheese in hot
Water while still in package, without the box, a few minutes makes it so easy to mix up.
That was very heartwarming, when you and the family get together to bake Christmas cookies and candies for gifts. Thank you for the recipes Ms. Lori. ⛄️🎄🍪
Perfect timing! I'd plan to make a large refrigerated batch tomorrow and add different stuff to each batch when I'm ready to cook them.
I love making cookies in batches because I can roll them into a log and freeze them separately so I can make different cookies whenever I need to great idea. Can’t wait to try your recipe for it. Thank you for all your hard work and love the video.
what a busy long day. Very productive. Lots of fun.
I remember we would make cookies at school. We needed more than 900 cookies. Thank you for this video. I would like to do the puppy chow. Sleep well 😴 💓
Mama Lori! Thank you for sharing your family with us! What a wonderful way to spend time together AND get ready for the holidays!! Lol I hear Home Alone in your background, great choice! 😂👍🏻❤️
The way that we have been making our peanut butter balls, is 1 cup of peanut butter ( we like the crunchy), 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 cup of crushed graham cracker crumbs. Roll into the balls and then dip in melted chocolate. This recipe adds that crunch that you mentioned in your video. :)
I am amazed that you guys haven't started using an ice cream scoop to shape the balls. It is wonderful that your family is all together to do this. I think this is a wonderful thing to do for people you value in your life.
I do, but didn't bring,
You are so blessed to be able to make all these treats together.
Mom and I had planned to start ours this weekend, but it's not going to happen. Sunday, we took her to the hospital. Now, she's on hospice. We were told we might have two weeks with her. She is already sleeping all the time. Cherish these times! God has His own plans.
Looks delicious! I remember my grandma making Christmas candy and other family members making cookies. It is that time of year!
Im baking all day tomorrow. All you made looks so delicious. Thanks for sharing your recipes Miss Lori and Brittany. 🙂❤️
I love these ideas. Thank you for sharing your family & recipes. I love that I can hear the movie Home Alone playing in the background, we love that movie too. 😂
Wonderful to see your daughter! Making Christmas Memories!🎄🎄🎄
What a team! Glad it went well, going to try the cookies!
Thanks for having me at your daughter's house! My kids are far away, so I feel special to hang out with you all 🥰
Thank You for Sharing, can’t wait to get the Grandchildren involved 😊
Love to see family do these things together. I really miss it since my divorce. These look so good. Can't wait to try them.
These sure look good ! You ladies are awesome ! You have a beautiful family , Ms Lori.home made gifts are the best !!
It was so nice to see you and your daughter in the kitchen together. Baking is so much more enjoyable when you can do it together with friends and family. Thanks for the recipes Lori and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
I love the two of you togethet beautiful memories god bless you both❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed today so much.....love seeing you do things with your girls. Mine are both about 4 hrs away but I miss them so much. I am 86 and miss all this. I had a stroke a few years ago and can;t do the things I use to do. Gonna do what I can. Have always watched you. Love your recipe book....love that you are both Christians. Love the Lord and will fry away with Him someway!
Thank you, God Bless
Glad to meet your oldest daughter very sweet. Thanks for sharing the cookie recipes - yummy!! Just know u are very much appreciated for all u do & Mr. Brown cute to see him also working w/ his grandchildren. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 too!! ❤❄️☃️
I loved seeing your daughter and her kitchen. It is unlike any I have seen!❤
Thanks Miss Lori and thanks to your daughter
This cookie dough recipe reminds me of the dough for Snickerdoodles, with the cream of tartar. I’ve not found that to be a very common ingredient in cookie dough. It lends a great taste and texture to the finished product for sure. Thank you for sharing with us and thank you for being you. When I need to be grounded, or just collect myself, I head straight to your videos. Love ❤️ Whippoorwill Holler❣️
Thank you, God Bless
Kris I learned recently that cream of tartar along with baking Soda equals baking powder!! The best part of making baking powder homemade is that aluminum is not added which is bad on our bones!! Companies add aluminum for some reason unless you find a brand that's aluminum free.
You 2 made all those treats look so easy & fun ( & Yummy !! ). Love watching you enjoying family time, it brings back fond memories of growing up with mine, full of love & closeness !
I miss when both my girls were still at home or near by. So much fun to bake together.😊 My son too! He is a good cook! Your dauther is so pretty.😊
I wish I had a daughter Granddaughter that liked to bake I would love a day like that we have 12 inches of snow coming to WI tonight hope you are safe in the bad storms Blessing's
All those cookies n candies look so good. Bless ya!
Mmm mmm! Everything looks so yummy. Please thank your daughter for welcoming us into her home. I really enjoyed seeing you working together. Happy holidays!
Joann Gaines makes hers with rice crispy treats! Thanks for sharing! You & your daughter are so blessed to be together making cookies, etc.
I love your opening with the vintage pictures!!
I can't hardly believe you two made all those treats! I am impressed!
Mrs. Lori, I couldn't figure out where I got that peanut butter ball recipe from last year. Now, I know it was you. You must have done a video on it last year. They were a hit, too! Yummy! That's what I do every year for folks. Cookies, candies and homemade cranberry, walnut banana bread. Love your videos!!
Love your video. Great that you and your daughter were together making the cookies and candy. Looks sooo good! Merry Christmas to everyone.
This cookie dough is awesome. I made a batch and made some thumb prints and snickerdoodles and they came out perfect. Its just my husband and I so we don’t eat that much. I will leave it in the fridge and make cookies as he wants them. Thank you so much.
A beautiful day- indeed! God bless ❤
I love her kitchen. So Beautiful. Merry Christmas to all of you!
This made me think of all the years my mom and I got together and made cookies, candies, and fruit breads to give as gifts. We always had so much fun.... my dad usually got involved too, and my husband was the taste tester. Oh to be able to do it again.... Thank you so much for sharing this, and for reviving such wonderful memories 💖
We did, too, and then as all of us girls got older, mom brought the grandkids in, too...they always had such a good time, especially decorating the sugar cookies...
mom would then send us all home with a big tin of cookies🥰
I use a small cookie scoop when making Oreo balls and peanut butter balls. It makes them more uniform and makes the process go faster.
Thanks for sharing.
When I do anything that has to be rolled into balls, they start out really pretty and end up being monster-sized balls.
What a beauty your Brittany is and great job on the baking!
Merry Christmas!🎄
Ty for sharing your recipes, and ty to your daughter also! Looks like it was lots of fun and yummy! ❤
Yum yum I'm so excited for this one
Great! This is exactly what we needed, tysm!
Thank You Lori for the great recipes!!! I’m going to bake some.😃 Merry Christmas 🎄
A great video! Really enjoyed seeing you working together with your daughter and grandson in the kitchen. Brought back a lot of memories of many years ago, helping my mother in the kitchen during the holidays. ❤ Merry Christmas to you & yours!
Love seeing you making memories and traditions with your family!
Thank you for taking us along on your cookie baking day ❤
Awesome video ladies! I'm making some thumbprint cookies with the Elderberry Jelly that I got over at your local Mennonite store last month. Going to be delicious! 🌲
You read my mind lol. I was thinking of doing the same thing 😊
These all look delicious. Christmas time is a lot of work but definitely worth the effort when it comes time to enjoy it all. Plus all the smiles and joy from others it brings is a bonus. Thank you for having us at your daughter's home. She is beautiful and sweet. I love her kitchen too, very cozy. You sure all had a long day but glad you enjoyed together. This was fun. Have a blessed week.
Years ago, more than 30ish, I used to buy those small paperback recipe books published by Pillsbury, and generally found at the checkout stand in supermarkets. There were a lot of good recipes, but two were my favorites, the spruced up version of a Pumpkin Log, and a cookie mix recipe along with the recipe for cookings that could be made using that mix. I really treasured that book but somehow lost it! Probably lent it out, but never got it back. The cooking dough mix was a huge help during the Christmas holidays
and I’d give my eyeteeth to have that book back. I’ve bought a few on line hoping they were the right ones, but so far they aren’t.
I love that you and your daughter cook/bake together, my daughter isn’t big on holiday baking, but my daughter in law is, and we really enjoy cooking and baking together.
I love the cabinets and farmhouse sink
These recipes look delicious! I remember cooking on the holidays with family and those are some of the best memories to make!! Love how your daughter is making these for coworkers, family, and friends! You have a very lovely family! I can’t wait to make these and share! Merry Christmas to y’all and your family! We love y’all and God bless! ❤️😇🙏🏻✝️
So fun to bake with your daughter ❤❤ gonna try the puppy chow !🌲🌲
Y'all did fantastic! Merry Christmas to yall! Your daughter and grandson are precious!
What a treat to see you and Brittany baking together! Thank you for such delicious ideas!
This brings back memories of making Christmas candy with my grandma. Thanks for the memories! Love you!
Thank you so much Ms. Lori and your daughter for these wonderful Christmas recipes. I am allergic to peanuts but I am able to eat almonds and cashews so could substitute the peanut butter for one of those. Happy Holidays to you and Mr. Brown and all your loved ones. God Bless. 🎄🎄🎄
You're lucky! I'm allergic to peanuts and tree nuts both. But I can eat coconut!
Your daughter is as beautiful as her mother. Love the kitchen . Her son is cute. Yummy on cookies . 🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗
Thank you
