  • This is the Quick Easy Way to Sight In a new Rifle Scope featuring the Hawke Optics Vantage IR & Tactacam FTS!
Want to do as little math and click calculations as possible? This tip will help you go from a brand new mounted, never fired scope to drilling the bullseye in 3 rounds of shooting! This is shown by filming with my Tactacam FTS (film through scope) and my brand new Hawke Optics Vantage IR 3-9x40 mounted on my new "squirrel getter", the Savage A22 FVNS-SR .

I can appreciate the video, Thanks for that. From what I see in this video, And it’s something I was trained to do from the beginning was to slow down, relax, aim precisely and slowly pull the trigger with as less movement as possible. 25 yards is in a different solar system than 150-300 yard shots. Every glitch of movement multiplies with distance. I think people will appreciate this video as beginners but for those of us with years of training and experience that already know how to dial in and dial in at varying distances, It’s easy to notice how much a slight glitch of movement is critical for long range shots. I don’t make videos so you’re doing better at that than me so I’ll give you props for that. Cheers from Florida!

Just bought this for my Gamo Fusion Mach 1 in.22 and just converted my dovetail to picatinny with UTG adapter. Got a Monstrum 1-piece picatinny scope mount hopefully it brings the scope up enough so I don’t have the open tru-glo sights in my field of view. Looks like a good scope I can’t wait to compare this to my UTG 3-9x40AO Hunter scope. I like the openness of the Mil-dots already better on the UTG already as there are more mil-dots for reference and they seem bigger and more defined but I really don’t use them so I’m just looking for glass quality. I like this has a glass etched reticle and the illuminated reticle doesn’t look washed out and glare off the tube. I wish it came with the flip up scope caps but I guess I’ll have to buy those separate.

I'll be doing this with my air rifle - BUT, it won't be strapped down since an airgun must be gently held at the forearm in an "artillery hold".

A faster way to sight in a rifle is to only shoot 1 shot. Pull the trigger as slow as you can like your life depends on it then adjust your scope to that hole. The next shot is a bullseye. Two shots instead of wasting ammo.

Good vid but (sorry for the but) a consistent dime grouping is what you need for a head shot on a squirrel. UK air gunner talking here. Non FAC holders are low power over here so mainly accuracy is everything to us. Every shot within a bottle cap size circle is ok, if you can't achieve that you shouldn't be trying to shoot squirrels. Again thanks for the vid, ATB and love to all.
