So pleased to see that you ended up in my childhood home at Bunnahabhainn. I was brought up in one of the shore front cottages next to the distillery....a truly magical setting.
Beautiful place to grow up!
@alastairmatheson3245. My favourite Islay whisky.
The scallops with the salad and chips are 100% on my bucket list. Furthermore, love whisky, so your Islay trip is a must for me! Thanks for the awesome upload!! You guys rock!👍😊
Many thanks! Hope you make it there!
Excellent video- enjoy the memories when your home
So glad every thing worked out well visiting my homeland. It's always good to see people enjoying themselves in Scotland. Please come back for another visit, there are many more places to see and you will be most welcome.
We can’t wait to return!
You guys absolutely nailed this video!! ...And the last one too tbh. Im from Kennacraig and this is what I try to explain to even my friends elsewhere in Scotland... Its a dreamy part of the world. Glad you's had a great time. Haste Ye Back
Thank you! We loved Islay, hope to come back some day!
Great video Adam & Maddy.Happy New year to you both.
Thank you! Same to you!
Great video. I’m so jealous. We spent time in Scotland, Cambridge and London in October but I didn’t get to visit Islay. Looked amazing. Great video
Thanks Brant, hopefully you get there someday! Amazing place!
Hearing “Happy Birthday” played on bagpipes is a first for us. 😆
It was quite the experience
So glad you had a great time. Ive bought all 8 whiskys from all 8 distillerys and my aim is to do as you are doing visit all 8. Cant wait to plan it. xxxx
Would have loved to have been there with you both. Youve given me the appetite to do the trip. xx
Beautiful video this couple are naturals on camera and they haven't annoyed me once .( by calling Lochs locks ) or (calling Glens valleys ) or ( being rude about Scottish money ) or moaning they can't understand the accents ) or calling everywhere England .) Other bloggers please take note .So well done to this young couple .
Thanks Paolo!
food looked fantastic xx
Fun. I was disappointed you didn't find your square foot of land at Laphroaig. I wanted to see that.
We will just have to go back and find it another time!
loved your video xxx
Its pronounced Mak-ir - The Machair is the strip of sand at the back of the beach. It is usually grassy with loads of flowers. The Machair lochs tend to hold all the best trout, Loch Gorm on the road to Kilchoman is typical of these types of lochs. Machir bay is a great beach to visit on Islay it just a bit along the road from Kilchoman Distillery. You really should try go on a Bruichladdich tour, its just the best! But don't drive that day😁
We look forward to returning one day and doing everything we didn’t do this time
We spent 2 weeks on Islay visiting all the open Distilleries, would highly recommend 😊
Agreed!
Hi! I’ve been following all your Scotland videos and was wondering if you guys can share how many days you guys spent there and kind of a roadmap of things you guys planned?
Going in October and everything looks so beautiful!
8 days, we had some hiccups. First mistake was booking the wrong hotel date in Skye. We then couldn’t utilize the ferry from Skye to Mallaig, which we wanted to visit because of the Highland Games. Also, Islay was the #1 destination Adam wanted to go to post COVID, and there were some ferry delays. Also we didn’t get our luggage, so we had to go back to Edinburgh instead of returning the car in Glasgow. We had to reorganize on the fly and things weren’t as smooth as we typically would like, but the trip was amazing nonetheless!
I can't go to Islay and not stop at Bruichladdich for a Valinch or two. Sláinte!
Brilliant, when are you coming back to do the east coast?
We’d love to do it soon but there is a big work to explore! Maybe a few years from now
Hi!! It seems you were travelling with a baby. Am I right? We are planning to visit Islay distilleries with our baby and we want to be sure we will be able to do the tours with her.
Check with Ardbeg, they may be able to accommodate a baby on a tour (or perhaps a tasting) however we traded off. Adam did the tasting and tour at Lagavulin and Madalyn the tour at Ardbeg and tasting at Bruichladdich. The rest were just stop ins on the grounds.
Great Video. What month did you visit? We are visiting Islay in May.
End of July, amazing weather.
Hi All! Ok, so the hubs and I were just in Islay hoping to get a heaping plate of scallops and we only got 3 pieces. Did you all get the scallops meal or app?
It was an entree did you go to the same place we did?
@@AdamandMadalyn We did but we got the app, which was £12.
Hopefully you ordered more!
@@AdamandMadalyn Unfortunately, we didn't. I ordered the sea bass and that was delish.
Great video. I look forward to being there in jUne. But please do something about the music. It detracts from the quality of what you've shared.
Ok
Sick cats, out of tune.
So many buildings painted stark white. Reason? Go, Quarter Cask.
You do know that drinking and driving in Scotland is zero tolerance. The editing of this video made it look like a one day trip so I'm basing it off that, but if anyone watching this thinks you can just go to Scotland do a tasting and drive on like over here. You're wrong and could possibly be in for a rude awakening.
ok pome
