[4K] Winter Riding - Vancouver Island Vlog
The weather was great so I decided to take the bike out to scout the snowline in the hills south of town. Unfortunately recent storm left most of the roads covered but it was still a fun ride and very good to be back on the bike!

[4k] The North Island 1000 - ADV on Vancouver Island

Join me on a day trip on the North-central Section of the North Island 1000. Ride along as we adventure through dense forest, majestic lakes, and scenic Valleys. This was a 1 day ride and it took a lot out of me in the summer heat. Plan for at least 2 days to complete the route, longer if you want to do side trips. northisland1000.com/

Tusk Highland X2 - BDR review 10k+ miles. The Best Budget system?
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
After thousands of miles of Real world testing here is the verdict. I can safely say that this rackless system will hold up to the abuse. If you're looking for a bang for buck rackless set up on your bike, big or small, consider the Highland X2. No, I'm not paid to say that, I promise.

[4K] Idaho BDR 2022 - Part 6 DUSTY BLUE CABINS
Переглядів 3,4 тис.Рік тому
We leave Pierce, ID and head North along section 6, visiting the Blue Cabin en-route to Avery, ID. Dusty roads and traffic kept filming minimal but the roads up on the mountains did no disappoint. We stropped in Wallace to refuel and re-beer before heading north on Section 7 as we had lots of daylight left. Unable to find a camp ground on the BDR route we detoured to a small dispersed camp a fe...

Great vid: thanks :)
❤
Got a klr 22 model adventure and have same tire and its grate
Could you ride two up with this system comfortably?
@@lankmd definitely possible, I have no experience doing so though.
Hey Boss!! :D happy to see you are well. Still waiting for that Fiji fire challenge :p
Is that AI captOP :p Enjoy the tire change buds
Great to see ur face amigo!
It's now July of 2024 and this is the best IDBDR video I have found for actually getting road conditions, etc. You did a great job with this series and the information I learn will be a of great help as I run this trail in a few weeks. I'm in NC, but leaving out as soon as Amazon delivers one more piece of equipment. I'll be in a small truck since my riding days are over thanks to a broken back and a few surgeries. I still love the outdoors at 65, I just need the stability of 4 wheels now. Thanks again.
@@philgriswold2133 thanks man! However you enjoy the wonderful country you live in, 2 wheels or 4, it's A okay in my books! You nailed it, I really wanted to give people a good idea what they would encounter on the BDR, Idaho has so many vids done by various skill levels, I figure a somewhat experience eye would be able to pick out some of the details. Best of luck on your trip, if you end up north of the border, give me a shout, I am close by.
This cracked me up. Dude haha!
Really enjoyed this. Therapy for the soul, thank you. 👍🏻
Thank you man, I use it to escape every now and again as well lol
Bought a place in Red Lodge, MT. Picking up a T7 and hope to ride several of the BDRs. Cheers
@@jasonpender5645 you will love that area and bike! Enjoy!
Just wait at all intersections
In an ideal world sure, but there are thousands of them not much fun stopping every 100 feet.
Nice ... it's always that last bit, but you cleaned it nicely
Thanks! Yeah it definitely has its moments, glad we chose to do it though, the view was awesome.
The ramped blocks on your front tire are from braking ... if knob pattern is not a directional you could spin it around. Not to familiar with the Motoz
Still running er. Several plugs later. Totally can swap it around, direction be damned I just need rubber.
Same $500 price like the Dominator system for the 390?
Great job!!
Thanks!
When we passed the rocks on French Cr. Grade, the temps went up above 125 degrees, then back down once we passed it. Then the next one, same deal. Crazy!
Thanks for the great review. I purchased the same setup for my upcoming BDR trip. Did you make or purchase the tie down brackets at the passenger footpgs? Where? Cheers.
Perun moto, excellent stuff. Good selection for the KTM twins
I really enjoyed your video. I finished it 100%. It's just the right amount of content. Having ridden Singletrack in Idaho last year with my brother, I think he wants to go back and attempt the BDR.
Thanks very much for making through the "director's cut". Its a great ride for sure but if you are a single track rider you'll appreciate the views more than the trails (which I guess is somewhat the point of the BDR) Enjoy the ride!
Terrific vids. Binge watched and forgot to thumbs-up each. Hoping to do ID BDR this year but I ride solo, and this might be a bit too much. Maybe do single sections over time. I'm in Boise area and 1st 3 sections are close enough to home I could turn back.
Awesome man! You are in prime position for doing it, I had intended to do it solo but as you saw, a chance meeting meant a group ride was the result. I did WABDR solo and it was really rewarding.
That one section is the 634 road if I remember rightly. I came down that once ,youre only a couple miles from Randy weavers old place.
Awesome vid love the IDBDR rode up from FL last August can’t wait to get back
That's quite the drive! It was a blast, hoping to get back someday but my new job doesn't allow for so much time off yet.
Nice ride and great views. Yeah I’m always thinking I’m going to end up in a gully lol. 😅
Thanks man!
I remember this shenanigans!!
No new videos? Why?
Moved family, started new career. Busy summer, no trips. Back at er next year for sure. Been missing riding alot lately
Looks fun!
It sure was!
Kool set of videos! Glad to see everyone was safe other than your big toe.. LOL. Some of those place it would be nice to just stop and relax for a day. Swim and relax. Well thanks for sharing your IBDR with US all.. Around Bend Oregon out on 2 wheels
Enjoying your Idaho BDR videos. Im not sure why riding fast thru the prettiest forest is necessary?? For me I stop and smell the roses. If I rode fast as hell all ya remember is getting gas. I always ride fast home but it great be be out in them Mountains.. stay safe.
Heavily edited for "excitement" lol we stopped a bunch but I totally get your drift. That day in particular we were running behind as one of the guys had to head back earlier.
"Survivor!"...LoL...good one!
I did this in 2020 in a FJ Cruiser and it was white knuckle the entire way. I can't imagine doing it on a motorcycle. Good job.
I can't imagine doing it in a truck! Lol thanks man, was fun.
Love the content, keep it up man! Fellow BC resident here!
Thank you for the review. Still struggling to buy it or not for my Hayabusa.
No worries, it'll prolly sound good with the inline 4, fit and finish is what it is.
Great series........really enjoyed it and hope to ride that BDR as well in the next couple of years.
It's an awesome experience, hope you get the chance to!
That's some beautiful country! How did you find the other two guys to ride along with?
I had just met them but it worked out awesome! They improved a ton over the ride and just sent me photos of them doing the Lockhart basin in Utah!
I also have a 700i Montana but haven't really learned how to use it very well. Since I do mostly solo riding down here in New Mexico, it's a tool I definitely need though. In this video, yours seems to be "calculating" a lot. Is that normal? Noticed you were using your phone toward the end of the video.
Yep it "calculated" most of the trip it was trying to go somewhere lol. It worked fine for nav as I preloaded the routes, used it for the jnreach more than nav tho
Great series. Really appreciate you sharing it with everyone.
Thanks man, glad folks are enjoying it
Right on!! What’s the difficulty level for an experienced average solo rider? 🏕🤙🍻
I wouldn't be worried. Nothing you haven't seen before.
What time of year did you ride this? I'm plotting for a near future trip.
Early/mid August 2022. Check out the IDBDR Facebook group. Closures, conditions etc...all updated regularly
THANKS great video !!!
No worries! Wish I had more footage but didn't plan the battery usage very well lol.
Revelstoke, you're over halfway to me. Hee hee
happy to hear from ya dude. Missin the boats and beers!
Thanks dude, I miss the community as well. I'll try and get something together tonight for a stream.
😂 who is that sexy lady...oh wait?! 😋
🤣
Miss you baby.
LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR VIDEOS!! 😙👍🏽 (Sorry you left the Island cuz we’ll be in your old stomping grounds in August 😉). Fabulous area though!! 👍🏽 ENJOY REVELSTOKE!! BEAUTIFUL spot!!!
Do you think it would be to big for a smaller dual sport? I got a crf 300L Honda
Yeah i think it would be fine
Wow ,terrific job .what a trip ,I hope to do this one myself . Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks man, it was truly an amazing experience
lol😂
Hey man, awesome vid! A bud and I are planning on doing the NI 1000 this July. Any recommendations on don't miss side trips or camping spots? And what's the best route? We're coming out of Vic, ok with anything short of technical single track or super gnarly steep babyhead/riprap shit. Thanks!
Yup plenty of awesome side trips! Let me have a think and I'll try and point your to the good ones!
At the end of the riding day, how difficult it is to remove the tusk panniers to the hotel room ?
I didn't stay in hotels so they stayed on the bike. But it takes about 5 minutes maximum to pull them off.
I’m looking at these bags but wondered if they will fit ok . I have a 2007 r1200gs do you think they will fit ok ?
Yeah no problem with fitment
