My Buddy Painted his 95 Fullsize Chevy truck with this paint , used 6 quarts , wet sanded the primer with 1500 before he painted it , didn't use the clear just wet sanded with 2000 and polished it with polishing compound..the key is using a good spray Gun , it actually turned out good for about $200 bucks
If you do some research on the paint it's very old school product. Precat lacquer. At $40/quart it really isnt a cheap system but it's easy to use for the average back yard user. Dump in gun and spray. You can get more for less at most any real paint supplier.
40? I see it for 28
Do you have to sand the primer before applying the blue paint
You dont have to, but it would be wise to. It would help everything to lay down smooth, less cut a buff afterwards.
I've used this for a black Yukon tailgate because someone did a hit and run used a quart of paint and almost a quart of clear it's pretty thin but it came out good for the price point and matched up to gm black good I'm going to do the famous peeling gm hood they can't paint it good from the factory if I was going to do the whole thing i would buy a decent ppg or something from a paint store this has no recoat window so you can do a lot with that but it's too thin time will tell but I don't think it's too good of quality I used a DeVilbiss gravity feed with 2.8 tip don't tiger stripe like here lay the coats down
Hey buddy how do you buff this stuff ? I buffed the clear with a yellow pad and it cut right into it
I used McGuire's mirror glaze, put it on ur pad, dab it on the small area ur going to buff and pull the trigger. Don't be scared to make a mess son
How many quarts of blue was used for this paint job
Watching this I'm reminded of the movie "Dumb & Dumber". Want to hear the most annoying sound in the world? That high pitched rhee-rhee-rhee-rhee sound during the music. Brutal.
Why didn't you sand the primer first.
Waste of a video. No gun set up. No tips. No details on how much paint was used.
his paint technique on the panels was terrible lmao
Mr.Weezbad
No doubt, I think it was his first try at painting, Looked like a satin finish, I hope that’s what he was going for. Awful.
@@MrMrwilem listen I have nothing against the guy, some people aren't experiences as others at painting. On the other hand you would think they would have someone a little more professional do a video on painting for their company
All of y’all see to be.... stupid when it comes to lacquer...
RTFM
Didnt show you sanding the primer?
Jesus the spraying hurt my eyes to watch !!
whats the paint code for this blue
100 st boyz have you found the paint code
Looks like it is BSP212 Amazon sells it cheap
BSP204
@@randallabracadabra 205
@@jermainecaldwell3757 That's molten red, not blue.
I will never buy this product again!!!! This is the worst paint I ever used. I went Thur almost 10 can of paint and about 2 cans of primer so it can be full because it was missing coverage. I wouldn’t recommend using this on a whole car for paint job!!!! Maybe a quick fix considering fender or door, truck etc..... If you have used this product please comment and tell me your experience.
I agree this paints sucks
I agree this paints sucks
The trick to it to make it look good is to reduce the paint, primer, and clear with lacquer thinner. Then cut and buff the clear. I did an integra with the performance red 6 years ago and it came out flawless. 3 cans of color and 4 cans of clear. At $25 a can I spent almost $200 with tax.
I used a candy orange for a motorcycle gas tank came out nice, I didn't use the dupli color clear coat I used the ppg urethane clear it's really nice didn't need to wet sand or buff!

I'm not sure this was a good example of what your paint can do and a bad example to beginners as to what a a paint job is supposed to look like. The finished product looks horrible. Either the clear coat is incapable of creating a mirror finish or you were way too light on the clear coat. The closeup of the finished clear coat at 5:20 is as rough as sandpaper. The hood at 6:00 to 6:05 also looks very rough as well. You can't even see discern the reflection of the truck's fender on the hood. Clear coat leaves a mirror finish. Yeah, sometimes you get a little orange peel, which can be sanded and polished out. But this is way beyond a little orange peel and impractical to sand a polish. It would take a week and you'd still accidentally sand through clear and paint at raised or indented areas. I guaranty "Chris" wasn't happy with this paint job at all. Even if he was blind, he'd be able to feel the sandpaper paint finish.
