Looking for some advice: I had a 2023.5 CVO Road Glide in dark platinum and added the same Khromewerks exhaust with SE tuner and SE forward-facing air breather. The performance gain was phenomenal. But the bike was too loud to keep at home. I had to store it elsewhere to keep the peace in the family and the neighborhood. I just traded it in on a 2024 CVO Road Glide in legendary orange. Nutjob, I know, but it will be the last bike I own (alongside my BMW M1000R). This time around, I will be purchasing a Jekyll and Hyde exhaust so that I can store the bike at home and come and go quietly. Having made that choice, I don't think there's much I can do to increase the machine’s performance and preserve the factory warranty. But before giving up entirely, I wanted to check with you for any recommendations you might have. For example, is there a cam I can swap in without endangering the warranty? Is an SE tuner a waste? Do I need to simply wait for the warranty to expire before making any mods? Sorry for the ignorance of any of these questions, and thank you for your consideration!
There are no cams available for the VVT M8 engine as yet. You can either use the Screamin Eagle Wedge air filter or the Heavy Breather Extreme. Those will provide great improvements. Using the SE Pro Street Tuner to make the tuning adjustments, you'll keep your factory warranty & have some performance gains.
Great video. I ordered my pipes at Frasers and I saw them yesterday and they are gloss black. I said to them they are not black chrome (similar to the ones that come with the bike). They are in fact gloss black and they definitely look nothing like yours. I would not mind if you can send me a good pic so I can show it to the dealers please. After seeing yours, I definitely do not want the ones they've pick up for me. I am happy to hear the wedge air filter does a great job. Also, 162? WTF.
I added a SE tuner, SE heavy breather and full Khromewerks exhaust with baffle inserts to my never-ridden brand new 2023 CVO Road Glide and picked up a ton of both horsepower and torque. Then I posted my dyno sheet to a Facebook group of 2023 CVO owners as what I thought was a public service, and the comments and questions started coming in. One commenter told me in not so many words that I had wasted my money on the air filter and exhaust and that the performance gains were all due to the tuner. I got started down this road after watching you change out the stock air filter for a SE wedge filter. I love the look and sound of the new pipes, but my dealer knew that my only goal was increased performance. What are your thoughts on the commenter’s view that I wasted my money on everything but the tuner if the looks and sound did not matter so much to me?
The commenter clearly doesn't know what they are talking about. The SE Tuner is a mear 'flash tune' & provides a slight amount of additional fuel. The biggest restrictions by far are the air filter & exhaust system. Once full tuning capabilities become available, these VVT bikes will make so much more power than you can imagine
I just had the screaming eagle tuner and a bassani 2-1 pipe installed and I felt like it made a decent difference. Maybe I better look into an air cleaner.
Awesome video. Can't wait to see the future upgrades you do to this bike!. Hard to believe they are 48 grand and they come with lame ass exhaust and filters...
Saw the question asked below....but no answer. Where the mufflers running open, or which baffles were installed for the dyno runs. Great vids, enjoy the channel.
No problem.....thanks for the quick response. Just put Khrome Werks slipons on my 2023 CVO. Stock head pipe with the cat. Ran the bike with them open and lovered baffles. Nothing but my butt dyno...baffles felt stronger. Waiting for your Air filter addition video. should be interesting.
I love what you've done with the videos you produce. Well done!! A little off topic here, the M8 117 upgrade to 131 ci does the have a thinner wall in the cylinder lining?
The cylinder liner naturally has to be thinner to accommodate the 4.310 bore of the 131ci pistons with the 4.500 stroke of the 114ci & 117ci bikes. There is nothing wrong with the Screamin' Eagle cylinders. They are plenty strong enough.
Awesome video, thanks for all the great info. Could you change the air cleaner and leave the stock pipes What would the dyno numbers be. Do you require the SE flash or not if you run that configuration
Just adding the air filter would definitely help to give an increase in HP but the exhaust system is very restricted too as there are 3 catalytic convertors in it. It's hard to say just how much the air filter alone would be of benefit. The flash tune is definitely recommended when doing both the exhaust & Air filter.

Hey master Miller, Great videos. I have the 2024 CVO VVT121. I added the screaming eagle wedge air cleaner and D&D 2 into 1 fat cat exhaust. Will the screaming eagle pro street tuner add a benefit? What was the AF ratio change using the SE tuner?
@DonBenedict-s8y It will be enough to get you out if trouble however there are still many limitations to it. One being the speed limiter is still on & can't be turned off. Two, there is minimal adjustment on the VE & Timing tables. There are a few more but they're are the main ones. While the AFR Table has nice rich AFR Values for the high load & rpm cells the closed loop area is huge & as mentioned above, has limited VE adjustment. The AFR table can not be adjusted at all. I can't remember exactly what the AFRs were after using the SE Pro Street Tuner but they are safe enough for just about any stage 1 combo out there
Miller great video thanks. Wanted to ask your opinion. Just got a brand new 24 CVO Street Glide. Had dealer put on the Rhineheart 4.5 exhaust and the tuner as you did in your video. My question is can I add the SE Wedge Filter with the flash tune already done as you did on your video? Just want to make sure it doesn’t throw AF. Ratio off. Thanks
It'll be fine to install that filter with your current setup. The tune in the bike should be able to accommodate for the extra air flow. The closed loop section of the Tune in those CVO's is huge. It will be fine
@@MasterTechMiller thanks buddy. I appreciate the info. People around here are still a little confused on the new bikes. Wanted to double check with you. Have a great day.

Interesting. Do you think tuning VVT M8’s will include cam timing changes in the future? Will different cams with higher lift, duration, etc make it necessary to change vvt advance/retard? If you could change VVT operation as part of your tune, how would it change the performance?

Yes. The VVT M8 requires a small modification. A 3rd 02 sensor bung needs to be installed in the crossover pipe on the KW system. Other than that, it's a direct fit.
@MasterTechMiller thanks for the reply miller, is this because you're using the stock ECM setup? If you had a dynovision with target tune then would you get away with just 2 sensors?

Taking the breather off is an old dyno trick. Not a real comparison. Test the wedge back to back. No way you are gaining 11hp by changing the air cleaner
As soon as I get the air filter, I will let the customer know when he can come in & have it installed. I will then test it again back to back. No tricks here mate. That is just what it did.
