Does Harley-Davidson’s tuner ACTUALLY give you more power? With the recent install of the 135ci crate engine on my 2024 Road Glide, we're a bit limited in tuning options at the moment (updates TBA!) We decided to put Harley-Davidson's Screamin' Eagle Pro Street tuner to the test!
Thanks guys for today’s content! Very informative and a constant conversation among enthusiasts. Glad you guys are well and I look forward to your videos! C.J.
I got one of those for my 2021 Street Bob we did a basic torque tune for the stage 2 install on my bike it's amazing how much more mileage I get at least 89 extra miles
My buddy recommended I skip the SE tuner and wait for aftermarket tuners to become available for my ‘24 Road Glide but you’re convincing me that this one is ok to get.
That’s cool that Harley has the tuner working for your bike but unfortunately I have a 2023 road glide Limited and I bought the Bluetooth tuner and installed the tune and my bike runs like crap preignition knocks all the time there’s no way I can go back to the stock factory, original tuneI tried auto tuning numerous sessions. The only thing I was able to do was by the Y cable and go in through the laptop and pull the ignition timing to the limit. Between 2000 and 3000 RPM which helped out a lot on the precognition knock plus through the whole timing table. I pulled 1°. And I also pulled 2° timing between. 1500 to 1750 RPM. Same thing I pulled 3° of timing. Between 3000 RPM to 6500 RPM I still get some preignition knock but it’s not like before where it knocked all the time now it’s very rare my local Harley dealer that does dyno tuning said that they will not Dyno tune it. Because it’s mostly stock just a stage one they said that they will charge me $600 to install a base map which will take 15 to 30 minutes. which I already have the base map installed so I talk to a different tuner he wanted to do a base Dyno jet tune map for 600 with no Dyno tuning because I have a stage one it seems like everybody out here in the Kansas City area. Just want to take your money, but do not do any actual tuning on the Dyno with the Harley Davison screaming eagle tuner so I’m at a loss of what to do so I ended up ordering a Dyno jet power vision from fuel, Moto I should be receiving it Monday. They need me to read my tune and email it to them because I also trying to stop the preignition knocked. I went to the screaming eagle smart to pro wide band oxygen sensor and module so they told me that if I email them my wide band tune they will be able to modify it and adjust the parameters and email it back to me so hopefully then my bike will run right and no more pretty ignition knock I tried numerous of things to get rid of the preignition knock octane boost +93 octane. I’m just at a loss that Harley will send out a tune for my bike that is that bad off and none of the dealers locally want to do anything about it except for tell me to buy a new bike even that I only had this one for eight months. Sorry for the rant. I’m just disappointed of the Bluetooth tuner and the tune that Harley provided for my 23 road glide limited twin cool I’ve been running down a rabbit hole for the last five months of owning this bike when I decided to do some upgrades to the air filter and exhaust and install the screaming eagle tuner, and it did not work out of the box and I had to go in and modify the tune to get it to work better and none of the dealers offered to do anything except just install a base map and charge me a butt load of money and said that they will not guarantee I would not have the preignition knock
definitely going to go aftermarket if I decide to cam or increase displacement on mine. You already said it for us but the speed limiter is disappointing on stock, I can't imagine how i'd feel about it on a 135.
Another great video, thanks! I'd love to see you do the same test but with a free flowing exhaust (full exhaust 2:1, no cat) and high flow air cleaner. Reason is I'm planning to do that to my 24 Road Glide but don't want to pay for a dyno tune until I put in a performance cam in 2025, but don't want to have any problems with my bike possibly running too lean. I'd like to be able to use the SE Tuner for now so I can still ride my bike until next year when I'll get a professional dyno tune. Thanks!
So I can do this tune myself? Hell yes!!! Bc I went to Harley Dealership this weekend and they want to charge 4 hours of labor to Dyna tune my bike. That’s $636 on top of buying a Powervision. So basically $1,000 to tune it. 🤷♂️ I’m fine with not “maximizing” something right now if the increased cost isn’t really necessary.
130hp/138 lbs.ft 117 with CR512 with Andrews 4 degree advance sprocket, SE tuner, Stock head pipe with cat, KW slip ons and max wedge filter. The tuner got within acceptable range, Very happy.
Hey Chris, Question - for those of us in colder climates, should we have separate maps for winter and summer? 90 degree summer air is way thinner than 30 degree winter air. so would it benefit to have separate maps for the seasons? I don't want to risk running lean in the winter cause the cold dense air is throwing off the AFR from a summer tune. and yes, I am running the SE blue tooth tuner on a 2023 street bob. Thanks. Great video.
I live in California and Harley has a CA legal pro street tuner P/N: 41001166A. I installed a SE 462 stage 2 cam with se pro tuner on my 22 RKS. Only tunes available is stage 1 and 2 for 2022 and older m8 bikes in California.
Yo I’m just doing a d&d exhaust on my 2024 roadglide you think I should get the tuner or save my money people saying that it should be all good without but idk
im curious (if i missed it or a comment) what would be a thundermax tuner in 4th gear or dyno jet numbers be to what the screamin eagle put up? but i was under same impression screamin eagle lacked alot.
Can you do a comparison on power vision vs TTS Mastertune? I know the new TTS modules are all Bluetooth as well and you can increase Rev limiter to whatever you want. Yeah, not street legal but who's gonna know but you?
Question. Any plans on adding the wideband sensors and auto tune module? I am curious to see if that would be worth it. Frankly, my 117 stock is great, but I look on the app, and there's no stock maps, for those of us who want to autotune the bike while stock. I even asked Harley, and they cane back with a canned answer. I guess changing the slip ons and air cleaner is the only way to get the benefits of a wideband on the fly tuner. I would love to do that first.
How about when you add aftermarket stuff like air intake and exhaust? Couldyou elaborate a bit on this? Also, the hd site doesnt list it for 2022 fxlrst fyi
Does this work on the Low rider St M8? Will this work with a new exhaust and intake? Secondly are the exhaust ports different on the 114 then the 117? How would you rate this Vs Powervision?
If you're still under warranty and want to keep it then you can use the SE or keep it stock till the warranty expires. I just bought a '24 low rider S and I just plan on doing the exhaust so I got the SE tuner. But if you plan on doing more than just basic mods then you should go with a power vision.
GUYS!!! They are just showing you that with the 2024 models there is no Powervision only an Impact Wiring and a Thundermax available. So to anyone who has a warranty installed 131 or 135 in a 2024 Road Glide or Street Glide the SE tuner is very respectable in the world of Dyno tuning. This is NOT aimed at any 2023 prior bikes! By the way, the Impact is $1500 and the Thundermax is $1100 so for $450 SE tune aint bad. My rant is over.
I've yet to get this device to successfully transfer a smart tune calibration to the bike. Mid-process the app just shuts down, which gives the warm and fuzzies. :D
I did the kit not the whole motor and had horrible dyno results. 5th gear pull gave 126hp and 140tq curious any guess what I’m missing. SE ventilator air and SPC 2 into 1. Any advise helps lol
So basically you wanted to say the tuner sucks and is not really needed. But y’all are chills for a Harley. Throw a powervision tuner on it and it will blow away that crappy tuner. Video was a joke.
If u don’t know how to get the saddle bags and side cover Off maybe shouldn’t be messing with a tuning device. *99% of ppl shouldn’t messing with any tuning stuff in general. .. I guess uploading a canned map for an epa approved stage1 or something.. sure .. whatever ..
The Screamin Eagle tuner for California SUCKS. Do not buy! I got it for my 2016 Sportster 1200 and it won't let me make any changes, I can only record and upload my saved files and it will "auto tune" based on my files. It still decel pops like mad and my MPGs are shit. I should have just got the Dyonjet and risked voiding my certified warranty. So pissed I wasted $400. I wish there was some kind of support or help after buying it. No number to call or website to find help. I've wasted hours trying to find help on various forums and not had any success. Learn from my mistake!
This tuner is complete and total trash do not buy it. I have a 23 street glide with the 114 it works with nothing but Screaming Eagle so if you have exhaust intake a cam other than Screaming Eagle brand name it’s not going to work for you. it’s four to $500 that you don’t need to throw away.
Just because the maps say for SE products per tune it'll still work with other brands. Also, run the smart tune and it'll refine the tune a tad bit more. I just researched that. I have the pro tuner and TBR on my 22 Street Bob and it does the job while keeping warranty. Which is 99% reason why we even opt'd for it. Hope this helps.
Really the only difference between Harleys "street legal" tunes and the aftermarkets "race only" tunes.... is that Harley has enough money to grease the palms of the right people, to get the correct passes and approvals. That's it.
Complete BS! Definitely does not work with a CVO 121 VVT. Would not connect via BT. Had to take to the dealership and was told i also needed the Y cable. Bought Y cable and used windows and no problem, i was able to download the one map, they have. But was not able to run the tune sessions. It’s widely known in The community but Harley still says they have zero idea about it! Its BS to sell a BT module and then tell a guy he has to buy a cable and then still cant run a tune session.

STICK WITH BUILDING BIKES!!! AND STAY ON THE FARM.
TOTALLY REDESIGNED THE SIDE PANEL GUTS ON THE NEW BIKES.
Awesome numbers!
This was interesting to watch..I’ve always heard that SE tune stuff wasn’t all that great …..but I was impressed by this tune
We need to get that governor out of that bike the 117s and 131s have so much potential and power
Thanks guys for today’s content! Very informative and a constant conversation among enthusiasts. Glad you guys are well and I look forward to your videos! C.J.
Thanks CJ!
I got one of those for my 2021 Street Bob we did a basic torque tune for the stage 2 install on my bike it's amazing how much more mileage I get at least 89 extra miles
Those are good numbers. Thats all the power you really need and its reliable.
Legit, plenty of power and covered under warranty, crazy!
I have a 131 with 140HP and 153TQ. It's unrideable n the rain on my Lowrider S custom.
My buddy recommended I skip the SE tuner and wait for aftermarket tuners to become available for my ‘24 Road Glide but you’re convincing me that this one is ok to get.
I was so happy to dump my SE Tuner for my impact ECU with my 135.
The tuner was the easiest/quickest part of my "stage 1" at home!
Super easy!
Do you get to use the same tuner if/when you bump up to a stage 2?
Did it help with the responsiveness of the throttle
@jasoncrose8650 It wasn't a night and day difference.
Unless I'm reading the graph results at the bottom incorrectly, with the tune, the bike gained (3) h.p. amd about 1ftlb of torque
09:25
Nice video! I think others are disconnecting speed sensor which will let you do a full pull in 6th gear.
Really nice it's just one unit.
Not like the weird two piece setup...
How lean or rich does it look. Does it look safe for the motor long term? Thanks Chris. I have this tuner that’s why I’m asking.
definitely going to go aftermarket if I decide to cam or increase displacement on mine. You already said it for us but the speed limiter is disappointing on stock, I can't imagine how i'd feel about it on a 135.

Decent numbers for sure. Not that far off with a personal tune. So should be safe and pack a punch while staying in warranty.
So I can do this tune myself? Hell yes!!! Bc I went to Harley Dealership this weekend and they want to charge 4 hours of labor to Dyna tune my bike. That’s $636 on top of buying a Powervision. So basically $1,000 to tune it. 🤷♂️
I’m fine with not “maximizing” something right now if the increased cost isn’t really necessary.
Yep
For a staggering 3 added h.p and no added torque
If possible would you consider doing this again using the SE 511 Cam ?
I think people would find it interesting as well.
130hp/138 lbs.ft 117 with CR512 with Andrews 4 degree advance sprocket, SE tuner, Stock head pipe with cat, KW slip ons and max wedge filter. The tuner got within acceptable range, Very happy.

I have a california compliant 24 RG. I've been waiting to get a stage 2 that won't void the warranty.
So with a street pro tuner calibration for a SE 131 stage 4. Is it safe for long term is the air fuel ratio ok. With the SE517 cam
Yo I’m just doing a d&d exhaust on my 2024 roadglide you think I should get the tuner or save my money people saying that it should be all good without but idk
Is there anyway he can share his best tune and we can download / install it if we have the same tuner and setup?
Would the street tuner work on a 2023 freewheeler
Okay but to be real, I’m gonna put a star 30/30 cam what tuner would y’all recommend?
Have this tuner on my 2024 117 RG and it’s total trash. Doesn’t even remember the speed limiter 🙄😒 but if you wanna keep warranty it’s the best route.
What are the build parameters?
im curious (if i missed it or a comment) what would be a thundermax tuner in 4th gear or dyno jet numbers be to what the screamin eagle put up? but i was under same impression screamin eagle lacked alot.
Love you guys and totally unrelated…anyway you could move the Marine Corp flag so it’s not bunched up by the vent? Semper Fi!
I believe you can turn off the speed limiter with the FP-4 by V&H
are this available for other non-Harley bikes/ Like Triumphs/
Can you do a comparison on power vision vs TTS Mastertune? I know the new TTS modules are all Bluetooth as well and you can increase Rev limiter to whatever you want. Yeah, not street legal but who's gonna know but you?
Great question.

Anyone use the 24 and up Thundermax ECM for tuning yet?
We switched over to that for this bike, checkout the recent episodes: ua-cam.com/play/PLjqVnhD6vHnx07OgCmVBm2aZmBzAz0xxa.html

This tech has been avail from 3rd party vendors, nice to see it here now. But remember the first time Block tried the VH smart tuner Lol !
First time trying the V&H auto tuner was NOT a pleasant experience, made my bike run terribly, like it was thing to buck me off, lol
I've yet to get this device to successfully transfer a smart tune calibration to the bike. Mid-process the app just shuts down, which gives the warm and fuzzies. :D
What do I use on my 2005 EFI Dyna ??
I did the kit not the whole motor and had horrible dyno results. 5th gear pull gave 126hp and 140tq curious any guess what I’m missing. SE ventilator air and SPC 2 into 1. Any advise helps lol
Try a different tuner (person)
They do have a California compliant tuner
That's what I'm trying to figure it myself. I bought a '24 RG not knowing it was a california compliant until afterwards.
Can i use it on a breakout?
Checkout the link in description to check compatibility 👍🏼
Can I drop a 135 into my ‘21 FLHT without a lot more mods?
Yes
I have it on mine
LETSS GOOO
vamos ver se consigo aprender inglês com esta galera.
Speed limiter. The difference between going to jail or prison.
You forgot to mention that the numbers were going to be impressive now regardless thanks to the sick carbon fiber.
Is this a build off vid or we just not doing that
Is this the build off bike? 😁
To match complicated. Thanks for video 😢
I live in Cali. The website says "does not fit California models", what a croc.
Move
Move. Leaving Cal was the best thing ive done.
Try to find someone to dyne a trike!!
Just need the third wheel dyno. Thats the challenge. Typically a 4wheeler shop would have one
Just like Vance and Hines
I was just going to say like the FP4 👍
So basically you wanted to say the tuner sucks and is not really needed. But y’all are chills for a Harley. Throw a powervision tuner on it and it will blow away that crappy tuner. Video was a joke.
They dont have a Powervision for a 2024 DUH!!
👍👍
Does it still let you go fast enough to go to jail?
Dickie Doo`s

You could probably make selections that are similar to your additions if you wanted to load a canned tune… if not do the auto tune 🤷🏻♂️
too late. Although, I have Tab exhaust and it works fine with it

That tuner doesn't know what brand parts you are running!
No dyna. No bueno.

EPA is a joke, especially in Commifornia!
Look at some pics of LA 50 years ago. Smog is real. And no Harley Davidson was making this kind of numbers then. 150 ft lbs? That's amazing.
lol street legal.
omg this vis is waY TO LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 2024 CVO ST want to put a 2:1 D&D on it so will this tuner do it without it having to be dyno’d
