I have photographed them many times, but it was at our favourite holiday place, Hurghada, Egypt. I once saw a hoopoo there too. Next time you come up to Norfolk, go to Horsey Gap beach and there will be several hundred grey seals on the beach.
5th August my partner drove us from Kent to stay in Kings Lynn so we could go to Trimmingham next day to see the Bee-Eaters… She’d been keeping an eye on the reports on the RSPB website as to whether they were still there and on our journey to Norfolk the website said they’d all flown the previous day!!! We still had a lovely time, Hares as far as the eye could see but we’ll go again if they return next year. Excellent video thank you!
thank you! I read reports of them leaving but then I checked bird guides to see recent sightings in trimingham and sure enough they were still there. Norfolk is always amazing this time of year I will be heading back that way soon to make my annual Seal pup video. it's great to hear you had a lovely time.
Nice video but please reduce the music, by probably half so your voice is dominant not drowned out by it. I know it's not easy getting the sound mix right but it is always better to only just hear the music as the important thing is your words.
@@DrewWebbWild Hi Drew. It tends to be all the way through where you are talking and have the music in the background. I would also choose music with less of a heavy beat as this tends to fight the voice especially as your style and the subject is reasonable laid back. What editing software are you using. Please let me know if you would like to chat about it further.
@@DaveKnowlesFilmmaker hi Dave I’m working on davinci studio I edited this one with headphones and although I kept an eye on the level meters I didn’t isolate tracks which I think is where I went wrong in the workflow I’ll tidy it up for the next one in a couple weeks hopefully you’ll see a big change
Hey Gary! So I do use binoculars sometimes but I have an essential tremor which is a neurological condition that causes my hand to shake making it difficult to hold them steady enough to see much unfortunately but there must be a way to use them if anyone out there has advice
@@DrewWebbWild Canon and Opticron do stabilised binoculars. If you live or can get to an optics shop ( on your travels) I’m sure that would let you test a pair to see if they help or not.
@@garyloader1416 I’ll have a look at them I have seen them but the price is sky hive at the ones I’ve seen I have a wex nearby, they might have some I can look at. Thank you
@@DrewWebbWild I’ve looked through the Opticrons myself and the image stabilisation is quite incredible for about half the price of the Canon. The Opticrons are quite a bit smaller than the Canons. If the price fits do the optics? Optic’s unfortunately are rarely cheap.
Lovely video. That tiny little spec wasn’t just a bee eater it is a non native species setting up its home in the uk. Whether through opportunity, response to change in climate or just sheer luck your video highlights a change in the birds behaviour. That is invaluable from a naturalist perspective.

Thank you!

Hi Dave! Is there a particular bit that’s to loud? I’d love to improve it

Nice video Drew
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it :)
those pigeions didnt mind they bee eaters did they not ??
Not at all they seemed to ignore them and without the pigeons I probably would have found it much harder to spot the bee eaters
Binoculars may be handy?

It doesn’t look like much but it is a really special moment for uk wildlife biodiversity I’m really excited to see what else comes our way
