  • It's the first of a new series where airgun shooter Roger Lait introduces us to competitive airgunning. Over the coming weeks Roger will take us through scope set-up to pellet weighing, all to prepare to get stuck in and involved with the fast-growing sport of HFT. In this episode he explains how to look after a brand new rifle out of the factory.

    Great video! Should've watched this before I bought my first air gun. It had air in so I loaded and shot it. Next thing I know the pellet got stuck in the barrel. Had to return it

    Originally I believed in the, don't clean the barrel often mindset as that was the advice I had from a very experienced gunsmith and hft shooter, who knows his stuff,
    And for the most part that worked, but starting to clean every two thousand pellets it's shown me that little bit more accuracy so its worth it.

    Just took delivery (literally still in the box) of a TX200 MK3 and while it's only a single shot Springer, I shall heed your advise.

    My HW100 has had about 6000+ pellet's through, never missed a beat at 50 yards and haven't cleaned the barrel since

    Hi brother teach me how to set a gun when it does not shoot the target? Sometimes right sometimes left and low and above the target after adjusting it

    Napiers instruction video tells users to spray the oil up the barrel and then pull through with the cleaning swabs. I wonder if it actually makes any difference.

      Q3ToPBuZz I don't like to spray up the barrel as maybe some will get down on the hammer and thats not ideal . The way I do it works for me BUT .. the choice is yours ! I hope you get ok buddy .

      +Roger Lait I sprayed first time down barrel as napier suggested. It did not seem right to me; I think you got it spot on Roger with a light spray on pull through swab (more control that way). Great video by the way.

      That's most kind of you . I don't spray anything down my gun... I always go overt the top and put too much of what ever so just don't do it anymore. Much better on the pull through , you can see what your using then . Works for me anyway . Thanks again for like on the video . ;)

    In the army I was taught pull through from breach to muzzle.

    • @binness
      @binness 9 років тому +6

      +zammmo Well then maybe they should have taught you which is the Breech and which is the muzzle, because quite clearly this gentleman does indeed pull it from the Breech through to the muzzle
