I love this comment. Well put. When I broke up with my lousy, no-good, Sob, he went right to his girl-fr. which was in another state. My mom saw them, didnj't know about our final Div. It was all I could do, to calm her down, she had a bad heart, and just loved this guy, well........... His final ending came five yrs. ago, court again, facing 4 yrs. prison term, suddenly he passed on, who knows why? P.S. his girl-fri, was in and out of prison, for prost. and drugs. I never did any of that, I'm clean , ready to teach I.T. to anyone who wants to learn. Thank you Lord, for letting me, be me. ❤❤

I disagree. I think it's key that he realized, that if he had tried as hard with his wife, as he did with his mistress, his marriage would have worked. He did some growing and learning. If his wife ever really loved him, she'll give him another chance. Read Paul's Letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 13, on the nature of love.

Hm. I have to wonder if he felt like the wife wasn't being "wifey" enough. I say this bc he also mentions her having second thoughts about kids, and bc traditional spouse roles are often justified by religion. "Not being a believer anymore" in this context could mean she was turning away from the more traditional "woman" roles, or that she wanted to center her life around something that wasn't just him and potential kids. It would explain why he felt the urge to step out on and ultimately replace her
100%. I heard that code too. He was frustrated with her growing independence and humanity, which is frustrating to men who see women as servants. As their patriarchal god teaches them to do. I see the cheating as rather in step with that entitlement, not some shocking betrayal of his beliefs. I thought his trips were to visit his family. Later I think she dumped him because he started showing up at my home leaving notes. I have noticed a lot of men have a much harder time being alone than women do. This makes the healing process much harder for them.
I live in Florida among the elderly and I've noticed that too. Many men will remarry after the death of a wife. The women after the death of a husband not so much because I think they took all the BS for so many years they've had enough and are happier finally being on their own.

My sister lived with a man and his two kids. His ex "needed a place to live" and moved in with them as well. I asked my sis how she could be this naive. I tried telling her that they were 100% sleeping together. She argued it the entire time. She finally broke up with him and he confirmed..... that he absolutely was sleeping with his ex the entire time.
My daughter had a friend do the exact same thing. It was crazy enough that my daughter was actually filling me in on the whole saga. She tried to tell her friend what was happening but finally got so frustrated she started ranting about it to me instead to make sure that she wasn't the only one seeing the scenario for what it was. It worked out exactly as your sister's did.

Emotional pain is secondary to physical pain. When you are screaming in pain from a physical injury, all your emotional problems are put to the side. Be happy you were not beaten and crippled with pain for life. My surgery reminds me every day of the abuse.

@@whendoigettosayfuck I agreed with her about the pain because I have been through both. Being left and a 5 hour surgery where the epidural wore off and I could feel them pushing on my organs before I screamed and they put me under. She's right. That's what betrayal feels like everday.

my dad did this decades ago... crawled back to my mom... then eventually ran off (sneakily) with a Philippino woman across the world (on guise that he just wanted to 'see Asia ')... then gradually decided not to go back home... except to get his affairs (and divorce) in order... he got married to this second woman 10 years ago and is still with her.

This says it all. He wants the lifestyle: he doesn't love his wife and never did. It was all about status to him. This conversation was incredibly selfish on his part because it was all about him and there's no recognition of the pain he's caused her or the rest of the family.
I feel like I've had a man date me before that very reason and it sucked because he was my first love and he was only with me because I brought him peace instability. He literally cheated on me with the girl that he did nothing but argue with and when I left him he pursued her just to find out she didn't actually want him. She just like the attention and the money. He was giving her the money that he convinced me he was giving to his mom and I told him that didn't make logical sense like she has five boys. You are the youngest. Why is she asking you for money and she is married. She has a husband like why would she ask her youngest for money that we need. It didn't make any sense but he told me I was being selfish and that was his mom and I'm being a bad girlfriend so I kept my mouth shut. Turns out the entire time I was right it was BS. He was giving the money to his ex and cheating on me made me feel like a fool because my gut told me something was wrong but he told me I was being insecure. And when I left him and I told him what could have stopped him from cheating he told me nothing. He told me I did everything a man could possibly want but there was nothing more I could have done and I didn't know how to take that because if I gave you my everything and it still wasn't enough then what the hell. But I treat that like a lesson now. Now I know a cheater is going to be a cheater no matter what you do. So you just have to make sure you pick the right person for sure. It sucks though because it makes me feel like I've become jaded because I am now a lot less patient compared to how I used to be. There's a lot of things I just refused to tolerate early in a relationship and I'm so easily kicking men to the side. As soon as anything happens. And I know that's not okay. I just don't want to be made a fool again

He and the wife were having problems in the marriage that he fails to mention. Why didn't she want kids? He blames her changing for his cheating and walking out on her. He expresses no accountability whatsoever. He just says that he needed to work on his marriage the same way he worked on the relationship with the girlfriend while living with her and her ex. The girlfriend went back to the ex and had him move in to get this guy out. She used the excuse of not wanting to keep her child away from their father to wash her hands of her role in breaking up his marriage. I'm so glad he got dumped and in the most degrading of ways: by being cuckolded in front of his eyes. 👏

I worry that she will take him back based off her reaction to him reaching out. I have unfortunately been in a similar situation before I went through therapy. At the time, I was willing to do whatever it took to get my ex away from the other woman, even if that meant taking him back. The situation was triggering something from my childhood that at the time I was unaware of. He used this exact same guilt trip on me - crying, no place to go - knowing I had a big heart and would struggle to leave him out on the street. That man tortured me for years but I eventually had enough and I am actually grateful to have been through the experience today. It opened up all doors and my life is significantly better now because of the healing work on myself I had to do in the aftermath.

It’s always a fun irony how this happens when people who begin their relationship by cheating on somebody are shocked when someone who had no aversion to cheating chooses to cheat when it’s with them. But this dude exhibits narcissistic behavior so it’s perfectly possible that he believed that she would cheat but never cheat on him as well. But I’ve also fallen for it like an idiot too because I was ridiculously insecure and was attached to feeling like a woman loved me even if I was treated poorly. I dated someone who I was convinced I loved but was really just believing there was love because I had low self confidence and didn’t think there was anything else out there. And she cheated on me and then out of idiocy and desperation I continued to lobby to get back together while she dated the dude she cheated with and then she cheated on him tons of times with me which I justified against them cheating together. And then she left that guy and dated another guy and she cheated on him with me which I’ll always regret and apologized to him for because he was a good guy and didn’t deserve it at all. But then we did get back together because somehow in my head it didn’t click that she cheated on me and then cheated on the next two guys with me and how any belief that she wouldn’t do it again now that we were back together was such a joke. Thankfully after those events I realized my mistakes and I apologized to the two guys I participated in the cheating against because it was such slimeball behavior by me. And there was a price to pay because I was unable to trust anybody relationally for years to where I just didn’t date at all until I met my wife and finally had resolved those issues.

This happened to me. My husband cheated on me a left, we had a 2 year old together. The other girl slept with his best friend and left him for a completely other guy. He came running back. I obviously didn’t take him back and now living a much better life.
