Takes me back to a conversation my 26 year old son and I were having and I mentioned a PAGER. It got so complicated I left it alone. 😂😂😂😂😂 He just kept saying “What? Why? When was it like that?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤦🏽Okay I'm ashamed to say that in my day it was always a doggy bag. But after hanging out with the younger crowd you know at lunch or something. They call it a to-go box, so that's what I ask for it now a to-go box. I had to evolve because I would get stared at 👀😱.
Take out is different. What did the guest say? 😂😂😂😂😂😂. It's a Doggie bag. Amen Mr Amped you got it right.. They had to put it in the dictionary, wow wee😢....Cute Amped House. 😂😂😂😂😂. Those meals today are too expensive to feed a dog if I had one...😂😂😂😂😂😂
Millennial enters chat...I was born in 1986 and didn't know what a doggy bag was until I got to college in 2005...It's always been a Togo box/tray for me.
It's always been called a doggy bag. It's a face-saving measure, so that patrons can be "feeding their dog" instead of having to stretch their food dollar.
Yup, it's called a doggy bag, mom our generation say doggy bag, young generation say take out, but what they fail to realize is I can also walk into a restaurant and order take out.
I heard it used more back in the 80s, maybe? I don't hear that term being used anymore. We just say "can we get a box?" to the server. Or they say, "Do you need a box"?
Wow that is as good playing telephone and my nieces and nephews put their hand flat to the side of their face rather than thumb and pinky like old phones
I know what is intended by the phrase/term, but have never personally used it...actually not sure I've ever heard anyone say doggy bag in a rl setting.
The problem I'm seeing here is that your children's lack of knowledge is your own fault. I'm Gen X. I know what a doggy bag is. I know what it is because I went out to eat as a child with my parents and grandparents at least once a month. So I would be told that if I didn't finish my plate, that I didn't need to stuff myself, and we could ask for a doggy bag. I know what it is because my parents and grandparents told me. This is not lingo you're going to pick up at school. You're never in a situation to need a doggy bag at school. So now you're embarrassing your children because apparently you don't take them out to eat very often, and when you did, YOU never mentioned to them that a doggy bag is an option if they're feeling full. How were they supposed to know this stuff without you telling them? This one is on you.
A doggy bag is not to take out or for take away.. a doggy bag is when you eat in a place and you have food left and you want to take it home. Maybe for the dogs. Maybe not😅
It's called a doggy bag.
I thought everyone knew this. WOW! You have to understand that some don't know about dial-up either, pay phones, AOL, etc. 😂🤣
