High school band from Minnesota, originally going by the name The Syndicate. Most famous for their frenetic version of Hey, Joe, which was a raw, syncopated beast of a track. This one, written by Arthur Lee and first released by Love in 1966, is from the comp Cast Thy Burden Upon, released 1996.

The original is by Love, from their excellent debut album. Arthur Lee wrote it supposedly as a reference to one-time Love drummer Don Conka, who was struggling with addictions.
