He is truly one of the great American song writers! Unfortunately he doesn’t get the recognition of the John Fogertys or Bob Dylans, etc, because the heavy dark aspects of his writing, doesn’t fit the status quo. He should be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, with AIC, as well as The American Songwriters!
Is it just me, or is he underrated? I hate using that word here. We're all here because of our immense admiration and appreciation for his talent. I guess it's just me. Cantrell is severely underrated,his guitar tone alone is a vibe in and of itself,one of the few bands that can create the most beautiful sounding music and it still sounds heavy and dark without feeling like they’re trying too hard

He is a survivor of this era. The 90's era music has a very gloomy depressing overtone and sound but that pain led to triumph realization that life is worth living for if you can let the sad feelings pass.

It was a dark era. But my small circle of friends and these bands got us through it. When i listen to this era i feel sadness but triumph as well that i learned something new about myself and me and my friends got through it.

I’ve been listening to AIC unplugged all day because my two year old loves “Down in a Hole.” I listened to that with my dad when I was little, and now this gets released. How absolutely incredible.
The quiet parts of this song feel like you’re alone in the smallest room imaginable, yet the rest of the song sounds a million years wide… incredible song.

90s were tough weird and deadly. Those were my best years, which were very intense , to bad no compact cameras available everywhere like nowadays.
