Chaperones required at Del Amo Fashion Center

- The Del Amo Fashion Center’s new chaperone policy went into effect, requiring minors to be supervised by adults. Christian Cazares reports for the NBC4 I-Team on March 1, 2024.
This is called accountability - something these kids have never experienced.
Black privilege
The mall is private property, so the owners can enforce any restrictions they want so long as they're legal. They're not public spaces for unruly teens to socialize and run riot.
The mall trying to minimize the impact of careless parents who don't teach their kids how to properly behave in society.
Hey, single moms. They are talking to you.
Terrible parents. Call social services on them.
The problem is, it's usually "terrible parent," (note singular, not plural).
That's what abortion is for.
Most kids who are not from Torrance, Redondo, PV, and Rolling Hills nowadays do not want the wrath of Torrance PD and other nearby beach cities. TPD has a rich history of law and order. Others called it police brutality.
growing up in South Bay in seventies...we knew that TPD meant business
Making black parents accountable. Touché.
This needs to be made law for every public place. Minors are causing chaos in masses everywhere lately.
Why aren't "parents" actually raising their kids with morals and respect for others???🐾🇺🇸🐕🦺🦮
Because it’s not in our dna to be like dat.
Because they are Blk
Good! Anyone who has a problem with this you are irresponsible and are a bad example. If you have a kid and are against this, you are irresponsible and immature. Your kids are a reflection of who you are whatever you teach them. That’s how they are going to act in public. Parents now days act like children themselves.
It starts when the children are tiny. You see parents letting toddlers stand up on restaurant booths instead of making them sit down. Children who have never been corrected will protest indignantly when they are eventually told what they are doing is wrong. Parenting went by wayside 40 years ago.
Haven’t been there in years. So sad these kids don’t know how to act, we spent hours hanging out there when we were young
Make sure you Blur Out all those Black Faces again...
Show LA DA Gascon the exit this November.
I was there today, Friday, 3-1-24, after 4 pm and noticed a police presence at entry points. Portable metal barriers were 'linked' and used to corral pedestrian traffic. Being there did feel safer under these conditions.
It's unfortunate that some unruly teens ruined it for all the teens. Perhaps, after a period of time when there is no further civil unrest, the old days & ways may return.
They better have police to monitor the mall , because security guards won't be able to secure it , no offense , but they need police to arrest these teens.
Del Amo and TORRANCE wants to send the message LOUD AND CLEAR that they are NOT the type of city that tolerates this kind of foolishness. IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!!!!! We'll see how long this policy lasts.
While going to my local grocery store on Friday Evening I noticed a group of young teens walking through the story and attempting to open some merchandise that one was holding in his hand. It turned out to be a couple containers of bic lighters. I asked the boy if he was planning to purchase them then why was he trying to open the package while walking, and firmly suggested he'd better not be stealing them. After I got home I thought to myself that basically I now think all stores should ban teens that are not accompanied on nights and times of potential problems.
Blk
Ruined by fatherless Daquan and Hector activities 😂
What you mean hectors they have money u damn fool it's the Daquans
What good is chaperones going to do. The parents are ones who taught them to loot in the first place.
Simon Properties doesn't ensure the grounds of their malls are safe, especially outside. I live across from one in Austin and there are homeless camping on their property, side car shows, property not being kept up, and lacking enough security at night and early in the morning. Only when the crime comes inside do they care, as they can no longer deny it!
And people wonder why they get profiled…. Everyone knows WHO….
I love Torrance!!!
Nice, good idea! Keep implementing it forever.
Back in the 80s in San Bruno there was a mall, Tanforan, and they instituted a rule where no more than 3 teens could be together in the mall. No cell phones back then so there was some semblance of control. Kids do need a place to socialize but if a few screw it up for the rest then what can the management do? It’s an age old problem. Anyone who says it isn’t is delusional
These broke kids don't buy anything anyway.
Still, not everything is about consuming and spending. Hanging out with friends is the best part. The problem is going to the mall to cause chaos.
How do you know they're broke? They have nice clothes and shoes.
They daddy momma stole em!@@dtna
@@dtna exactly 🌹
@@user-jc7jb3bu5seven if that's the case, is not their fault. You should respect them, even if they're "broke" as you said, because they're not capable to make their own money yet, so is not on them to go to the mall to spend money or just hang out.
Super easy for minors to enter. Just go through any major stores like Macy’s and boom your in no id checks.
Good because these vendors and employees do not want to be responsible for any kids' behavior and good job to the city and police officers for doing this policy. Now, i will feel safe to go to the mall now.
Parks, malls.. pretty much any public spaces these days. Bring on the autonomous burbclaves!
It seems to be a small percentage of the population that causes the majority of problems, including those which occur at this location.
😏
It starts at home and what parents are allowing there kids to do
Ban the, you know who.
BLK Lincoln ruined the world because his BBC obsession
So what's the chaperone policy? Fine, upstanding 21 year olds supervising 14 and 15 year old scholars!
Hope all them single mothers are proud of their babies
Its a very nice mall, i have been there many times, i dont know why those teenagers eant mess everything up.
Because dats what we do.
Just ban the culprits: Indian engineering students.
😂😂😂😂
Clearly asians were the ones who were fighting and hoping to loot stores
This should cut down on the blacktivities.
Yay 🎉!..No trouble maker welcome!
This culture has to be babysat😆
We wuz in chains foh a reason fam. 😂
Hopefully parents start watching their children now… might even help with premature pregnancies…
I commend the mall for trying but I doubt this is going to work. The issue here is civilities, accountablility, respect and manners. If you don't teach them at home, from birth, they will never be learned.
These people don't respect the mall cops now, they certainly won't when told to leave.
Not really enforce
Or a Platinum card is also acceptable instead of a chaperone
1:12 dudes last name is da-douche 🤣
Goood
Bad policy...Instead play Country music, Classic Rock and Classical so the rap and hip hop living criminals won't go there!!
If you’re on welfare, you don’t need to be hanging out at the mall
Blks
Minors have to accompanied by an adult at all times...it's a law...no Minor is allowed to be outside on their own...only grown ups are allowed to be out in public alone...
Ok so what law is that or should I google it? A law like that does not exist or else this rule would never have been implemented. Go Google it and educate yourself.
@rogeliosoto6953
Bro its a law no underage person is allowed to be without a grown up...a legal guardian...its a thing...🤷...but because so many parents would lose their employment everyone looks the other way...
Del where ? where is this ?
Del amo mall torrance California
Don't worry about it u don't need to kno 🙄
Ghetto neighborhood where folks don’t know how behave themselves.
@@ToboeKey309hahahah that’s is bad !!!!!🔴🫢🤫
Amo. Torrance California. Beautiful place and beautiful city btw
Ageist!
Repeal all civil rights/anti-discrimination laws as applied to private businesses. Everyone knows who the problem is, but civil rights laws and other government tyranny prevents businesses from proactively keeping out the troublemakers. Let these "teens" do without access to the market economy for a while until they learn to appreciate it.
Racist alert. So you think only certain people should have rights. That's how slavery began.
Lies
What?!😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅
THAT IS SO NOT FUNNY!!!!!
Welcome to multiculturalism! What was the about “supremacy?”
Imagine u as a teen going on a date and your folks babysitting you at the mall…SAD!
😂😂😂 trash culture now
Boycott this mall
