I grew up in this area & remember how family friendly it used to be, my parents would drop us off to watch movies, do a little shopping before picking us up…good times.

A lot of these are gang members probably hailing from Inglewood and/or Compton and surrounding areas, or a pocket group of teens loosely affiliated by them. You don’t just find a bunch of random teens organizing a mass looting, there is huge money to be made in looting more affluent malls en masse and the gangs were most likely using other teens in social media to add to the chaos while they hit their lick and make for an easier escape. This was a coordinated mass robbery with larger shot callers making the moves.

I'm not a fan of social media and the only thing I use now in the past 6 years it's just texting people and UA-cam to comment and reply .
Yes there is too much social media and people are using it the wrong way but taking it away from people under 21 is not always good because there's also a lot of decent kids using their time well on social media ... some of them show their photography or what they painted or what they build with their own hands or what kind of food they're making or how they're helping out in the community or to create awareness about good things .
Instead there needs to be emp😂hasis on PUNISHING those who ABUSE IT , for example those who call others to meet and do Smash and grabs and to do other violent and illegal acts .... why not create stricter laws for them and fine them and make them know , through Public Service Announcement ads everywhere that yes they will pay the price , they will be punished and some will even go to jail ... so that includes the ringleader who called everybody to action and those who decided to follow and do these illegal acts thinking it's a big joke .

The mall itself is nicer than it was 20 years ago. They renovated a lot and there's been a lot of new restaurants added etc.

Law enforcement needs to be given the opportunity to stop this kind of behavior without tying their hands.
