When I found out about soul split and set the goal for going for it I had such a long lists of quests and a couple lvls to make up for it. I only play about an hour each night so it took me almost 3 months to do it all (with very little guide help) and since then I've not done a quests eithout quick guides. I enjoyed the quest line but it is such a great point that it will literally blindside you when you find out it's a pretty basic requirement for late game pvm. Thankfully my account is in a much better spot now but this video is much needed critique for RuneScape. We NEED more content creators like yourself. Keep up the good work
There actually used to be a pathing system that would take you through all the quests to unlock major milestones. I explicitly remember a path for curses and one for priff. Why these got removed from the game, who knows.

I feel like this would require a lot of reworking for quests to be coherent based on your progression that Jagex wouldn't be willing to do tbh. Game has progressed way too far at this point and they seem to be attempting all they can to retain older players rather than bring in new ones
I don’t think people fully realize the issue at play. This game, no matter what it does, will not attract many people ever again. It has nothing to do with the game or how it introduces new players to itself. People these days have zero attention span or willingness to commit to grinds. This game need a lot of time to progress far into things. We’re talking hundreds of hours just to get into mid-end game. There are SO many games these days that people only have so much physical time to comit. And we’re in an age of instant gratification so why not just play something else that most likely your friends play or something.
I literally started a new account January 1st and couldnt believe how hard it is for new players. All i did was focus on quests and getting minimum skill requirements to just focus on quests. So far my highest skill is 93 arch and all i need is 99 to get master arch outfit i did all the requirements for that too. Right now at 320 quests points. If i was not a veteran player and did not know what matters and what quests to do i would be entirely lost. I just did sliskes end game yesterday and zuk cape now too. I feel bad for new players
My focus was doing all the quests before I focused on xp and maxing out skills. I wanted to get the enriched pontifex ring, ring of whispers and all the arch relics and try to unlock as many passives I can to make maxing out skills way easier and doing multiple skills at once with said relics etc etc. I feel people are too focused on wasting time trying to get as much xp as possible when you can do all the quests and unlocks that make Skilling way easier and faster. Jagex needs to explain this to people so they don't waste time.
Soul split level requirement could be lower, reward it in completion of dig site. The game was made for 2000s. Soul split would be a lot better with powercreeps
Stellar channel awesome content wish they were more creators like you for this game. These are crucial criticisms and I completely agree unfortunately this game as well as its completely different fundamentally brother old school. It is not a game that holds your hand with progression this game only hold your hand with Skilling. The issue of layering 20 years of content, there has to be a point where a major rework needs to be implemented to get newer players engaged and not feeling discouraged of the mountain of things they need to do in order to play the game in the way, they’ve been designing it for the past 10 years. RuneScape three is all about the bossing the combat and the completion ism, unlike counterpart old school, which is fundamentally about character, progression, and the journey of leveling your account. Then there’s combat. I agree with your criticism there needs to be hand because veteran players alike only figured things out via external sources whether it’s UA-cam guides the wiki etc. there’s no endgame system to show and tell you how to get to the point your character needs to be at to do the contact they’ve been designing for the past 10+ years. Start world I think was an experiment for them, but the wrong approach skipping the fundamental identity and values of the game by making players have super broken XP and benefits. Although it was a good attempt, I think it’s the wrong way to go about this issue of our 20-year-old game with 20 years of content, the game simply needs to evolve. Call it RS4 whatever you want it needs fundamental rework or it’s only going to be the same 12,000 players until it dies. Please post more enjoying this content.
Just do all the quests, if you don't like them much, just do things in the path of extinction then silske endgame ^^' 2 or 3 at a time. Most quests are parts of series or unlock important or funny stuffs, so as long as you are eligible for a quest you should do them. Quests in RS are a very mixed bag and to me they are have almost always been more time consuming than expected. Still, when a quest is done it is done and very often completing it really improves your account one way or another. note of prayer: honestly just playing with regular prayer book and eventually camelot prayers you're fine until very late into the game, do not even consider bossing without at least decent shell(which is way way more than just prayer xd), you'll get nothing anyway, T95 prayers are way way more impactfull curse than soulsplit because it's clear speed, it's real untangible account progression always in combat. For bossing, just considering anything than necromancy early on is suicidal, just the skill books for any skill is way more expensive than like 6 monthes of supply for necro, you can farm your bis while making money yourself and you'll outperform any other style(which then may change boss to boss on absurds 1B+ budgets) ^^'.
While I agree with you, the issue isn't really that quests suck, it's that a new player has no way of knowing they should just do the soul split quest line. They often find that out down the line rather than have a good idea that it needs to be done before hand. That's the bigger issue imo, and I'd rather have Jagex tell us what the important quests are rather than we have to figure it out.
@@raphtheboygenius you think so? I think that in 2024 80%+ of any playerbase play by procuration simping consciently or unconsciently to content creators and anyway most people know how to search on google and fb, you learn that around 4 nowadays. I hit 99 archaeology yesterday and prefarmed the grandmaster requirements to get slapped in the face by spend 250K chronotes to get a outfit or upgrade your mattock, it represents something like 200Mgp of chronotes to be up to date on a skill you actively train, not mentionning the previous endavours I had to make(grind a GotE, farm 2 dragon mattock, freaking do harp for hours and so on) just of this skill alone, and if you do not progress in archeology you loose on so much for EVERY game activity, the unlocks are more important than soul split as well for pvm and it is not even close. Quest progression not much, the issue is the accumulation of almost insurmontable grinds that made sense the year of their release layered onto each others. It is something I like and dislike about this game, returning to bosses after checking significant account upgrades is rewarding but the curve extremly degrading for the player, there is almost no sweet spot in between.

If you have more experience then of course you can speed things up and optimize your xp gain as opposed to a new player. That’s literally what the term experienced means in this situation. Dunno where you wanted to go with this, can you explain more?
I don't really understand why Jagex designs this game with the sense of every player must use the Wiki to complete it. I tried to get my GF to start playing and she just couldn't understand all the complexities of the game and had no interest of having the wiki perma open on her phone to constantly look up everything. I think that's the biggest issue really. The leveling and stuff is SUPER easy on rs3 - bigger hurdle on OSRS for sure but rs3 is just far too complex for your average human to just stumble upon and actually understand what's going on plus actually liking it.
It's not so much about being easily accessed, it's more that it's mandatory for pvming and a newer player is never going to know the quest even exists, so by the time they start it, they have to do the entire questline from scratch instead of already having a few quests for it done from doing area tasks. Introducing the idea early on that questing is mandatory BUT it has really important rewards and pretty good writing is the bigger issue rather than "oh, everyone should get soul split for free."
