- WOW. Wait until you see the transformation this scared and protective mama makes during her rescue! All thanks to our secret weapon, bacon from Crown Candy Kitchen! She did such a good job. She has 8 little angel babies.
What a good, good mama. We are absolutely in love. Thank you to the Good Samaritans who called yesterday, we cannot thank you enough. We're looking for a nice, quiet foster home for her to nurse her babies in peace and quiet! We named her Crown Candy and her 8 little sundaes named from their menu.

Randy is running a small farm rescue in Illinois. I think he just kind of retired more than anything but he's still very active in rescue. I'm pretty sure he's on Facebook

What an awesome mama dog..... She's just so sweet!!! And look how fat n plump her puppies are, she's been doing an amazing job taking care of them.... And fresh fried bacon is a secret weapon for almost anyone.... And I was saying to myself, you know it's a tight squeeze, and difficult to reach when even Donna has a hard time getting in.... Lol.... I wish I could foster her...

She found them just in time. I can't imagine all those puppies in a few weeks being able to get up and run around. That would of been even more heart breaking.
So sad when stray dog and cat mamas are struggling to feed their babies when they're starving themselves. Thank you Donna and St Louis rescuers. Donna has a way with these pups. They seem to fall in love with her right away. They know.
That moment where she touches her hand, and then just leans in is so heartbreaking, and so sweet. She just realizes “oh, okay.” And just suddenly she remembers that she’s a dog, and that people aren’t all so terrible. Someone loved her, once. I wish we knew her story before, but it’s her now that matters in the end.
Once again, Donna answers the call to dive into some dirty hole to get all the babies. 😁
