She was my 80’s crush. Seems she still is. My walls where plastered with pictures and posters of her and i’m pretty sure i bought every album. She is so witty , charming and gorgeous! 🌹
Sheena Easton has such a great vocalist. I think she is underrated because she is such a gorgeous woman and sang some sexy songs. I saw her in Vegas and then in LA. She was amazing.
You have to see her video for What Comes Naturally and Days Like These. So stunning and sounds so amazing. What a wonderful sense of humor she has. Love hearing the stories or their careers, and what it was like starting out. Her most beautiful ballad was “Almost Over You”.
As I get older and see the quality in music is declining while the production quality opens up new doors! Now I begin to understand and appreciate the singers that I ignored when I was younger (which is an easy thing to do considering how high the quality of the early 80ies to 90ies voices were). Recently I have been watching old Sheena live performances and I am in awe of her voice. Something like her doesn't exist anymore. The greatest singers of today are edited, half playback, pre-recorded etc. Barely anyone who has the (live) talent that was required back then.
I don't see any improvement in the production quality. Listen to "From the Original Master Tapes" comp of Buddy Holly. This was mastered by Steve Hoffman. This blows away a lot of modern "maximised" productions. We are talking music from the 50s! There's a lot to make a recording sound good. Thanks for the comment :-)
@@GrantsRockWarehaus I was referring mainly to vocal production (which in my opinion had its peak in 90ies R&b) when there was Vocal producers in studios. Still it is a fact the audio systems of today are capable of creating more nuanced and sophisticated sound than lets say an 8ies sound system. Yet the quality of music and songwriting in itself is on a decline! Barely an album ages well or has songs that are timeless.

Brilliant interview - remember both Julie and Sheena when starting out their fledgling careers in the early 1980s on Crackerjack and the Big Time. Wish Sheena would come back to the Uk more often and do some shows.
Olivia was a crossover artist before Sheena. Definitely not casting shade on Sheena…I too am a ‘59 baby and her music was part of my 80’s soundtrack!!! Love this long form chat…Julie did an excellent job of steering the interview but letting Sheena do all the talking Overall a wonderful hour of one of the greatest pop singers!❤
Good ole Las Vegas, where all the biggest artists go......to let their careers die. She's still there 30 plus years on and done fuk all since she arrived there. Even her glesga accent has disowned her. lol
Great interview. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching & listening

Great memories of having Modern Girl on one of the first compilation albums I owned as a kid. Just love Sheena!

Sheena, such an awesome voice and great character. Love her
Love this ❤ Sheena is very down to earth x
GREAT interview. So nice to hear Sheena do a casual interview and share so many stories I had heard before.
Glad you enjoyed it!

GREAT INTERVIEW SHEENA AND JULIE SHOULD HAVE THERE OWN SHOW
Brilliant interview - remember both Julie and Sheena when starting out their fledgling careers in the early 1980s on Crackerjack and the Big Time. Wish Sheena would come back to the Uk more often and do some shows.
Thank you for the wonderful interview.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Debbie Gibson and now Sheena Easton ... POW and POW!
They were both great... I cannot lie. Would I have been caught dead at one of their shows in the 80's? No, in my old age I can now appreciate them.
Sheena ❤
😎👍👍👍👍👍 She still looks great💯💯💯💯💯
This was great!
Sheena Easton is the best. There is no one like her. Besides Madonna, she is is still my favorite female pop singer to debut in the 80s.
Olivia was a crossover artist before Sheena.
Definitely not casting shade on Sheena…I too am a ‘59 baby and her music was part of my 80’s soundtrack!!!

Sheena was not the first Scottish artist to top the Billboard Charts. Lulu did it years before with "To Sir With Love".
Man, when I saw Frank Zappa testify at the Senate committe hearings in 1985, Sheena Easton's song Sugar Walls was relentlessly targeted by the PMRC.
and it's not like the lyrics are blatant or anything. Damn the PMRC... lol
👀
🤷🏻♂️
What documentary is she referring to?
dunno
@@GrantsRockWarehaus found it, it was done in the early 80s. Very good documentary actually.
OMG I love her. Not what I that she'd be.
Sheena lost her thick accent
She also was catching a cold. she only got to perform one show.
Decades in the US will do that to many people with accents…as we heard when talking about Sean it comes back in full brogue!
Good ole Las Vegas, where all the biggest artists go......to let their careers die. She's still there 30 plus years on and done fuk all since she arrived there. Even her glesga accent has disowned her. lol
Her scottish accent disappeared.
Very odd.
