I love this concept of "I am not a VFX artist but I'm going to attempt to do VFX" because it gives the exact perspective of a editor with basic skills who wants to go advance. If you can create another series where you get some real VFX artist to review techniques from this video and their take on ways to improve it, that can be anothere good show.
2:46 If you put a 2D layer (null, adjustment, ecc) between 3D layers, the top and bottom group layers above and below it, will not interact with each others, this means the will not compenetrate even if they are in the same position in 3D space, but the stacking order in timeline will drive the visibility. Nice results BTW :)
