@@PoleakTonethVlog do you mind sharing with me how? I converted my 2018 Trek Marlin 5 with the same Deore 5100 but have problems with back pedal when im on the biggest cog.
@@CP-yj6gg check that the clutch on the derailleur is engaged. There is a small lever, look it up.
How much was the cost of upgrade?
Around 200$
How much complication if I’m starting with Altus 3x7 with 14-28 shimano freewheel?
It seems like you didn't change the hub. You didn't need to change the hub? I have the exact 3x8 setup & I want to do the same conversion/upgrade that you did? Can you help me out. If anyone knows this information can you please, let me know?

If your current setup is Shimano, you have the HG freebody hub and this 1x11 upgrade will fit. The limit with the HG hub is that the smallest cog can't have less than 11 teeth.
