A gorgeous, amazing blues played so beautifully by these young musicians. These guys are floating above technique and analysis touching pure sonic communication and emotion.
I was having a night bicycle ride when I thought: Let's listen to some Gilad Hekselman. I saw on TIDAL this new song and It REALLY impressed me. It reminded me of Esperanza Spalding's Emily D+Evolution drums, with "disengaged rhythm" (as I call it) like in Unconditional Love (Alternate Take, the 10 mins one) ua-cam.com/video/QOo-ZLRk-6U/v-deo.html And at the same time, that super tasty Rhodes made me thing of Kneebody, a group I love. ua-cam.com/video/H895TbRpUw4/v-deo.html But on top on that, there's that original sound from all Gilad's music: Bold and deep jazz guitar full of texture and emotion. For me this is the future of music: Awesome sound design making use of current technlolgies and an uncanny avant-garde jazz spirit. I can't wait for the full album!
