Really? For me it sounds very irritating that the guitar has so much reverb and the tenor is so up front. He should have used way less reverb in my opinion
Sepp, he's got that much reverb on there so he can act as rhythm and lead at the same time. With this much reverb the chords sustain adding the harmonies and allowing him to mess around with different textures under what the tenor is doing (essentially a drone for most of the piece).
That was out of this world!! Truly spectacular, arguably one of my favorites of this series! Thank you so much for making these so accessible, Mr. Wendel!
It's not a click track; Gilad is muting the strings of his guitar so that the sound is more percussive when picked and he's using a pedal to record himself and create the short loop that plays throughout the performance. You'll notice that's what he's doing at the very beginning of the video.
Has anybody an idea of which Amp Gilad is using. Sounds awesome and looks like kind of like the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb FSR Blonde... but still different. Maybe a digital Amp???
Julian Dorsey Yeah... I think you'r.e right. On his gear website I found the TubeScreamer... and the Tone King Comet 40. The colrs are similar...but it looks different. Somehow it looks like a digital amp..
anybody knows what brand of guitar that is? is that a manzer?..absolutely stunning..the instrument and the playing of both..edit: its a victor baker guitar
Sounds like E major? - here's the notes of the melody starting at 0:35 until 0:48 : E E G# F# E C# C# F# --- G# G# --- E F# G# B F# E F# E F# E C# B A# F# F# C# F# F# C# F# F# F# E E C# C# C# C# B ..? hope this helps!
Ben - dopest shit in ages, and the bar is high
The Eigsti's pretty face-melting too
I love how the guitar reverb blends with the dry tenor. This is really great music.

Wow, Just great. Where does the percussion click come from?

Hi Wendel, I'm Brazilian and I would love to know what is your mouthpiece in the tenor sax?
Do I hear an octaver only on the bottom strings? How's he doing that? Wonderful playing guys!
+Filip Dinev Pause at 9sec in. The Boss OC-3 he is using has that option.
wonder-fUll
Queens. You guys live in Queens?
Has anybody an idea of which Amp Gilad is using. Sounds awesome and looks like kind of like the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb FSR Blonde... but still different. Maybe a digital Amp???
