Under the lights where we stand tall
Nobody touches us at all
Showdown, shootout, spread fear within, without
We're gonna take what's ours to have
Spread the word throughout the land
They say the bad guys wear black
We're tagged and can't turn back
You see us comin'
And you all together run for cover
We're taking over this town
Here we come reach for your gun
And you better listen well my friend, you see
It's been slow down below,
Aimed at you we're the cowboys from hell
Deed is done again, we've won
Ain't talking no tall tales friend
'Cause high noon, your doom
Comin' for you we're the cowboys from hell
Pillage the village, trash the scene
But better not take it out on me
'Cause a ghost town is found
Where your city used to be
So out of the darkness and into the light
Sparks fly everywhere in sight
From my double barrel, 12 gauge,
Can't lock me in your cage
You see us comin'
And you all together run for cover
We're taking over this town
Here we come reach for your gun
And you better listen well my friend, you see
It's been slow down below,
Aimed at you we're the cowboys from hell

One thing that was brilliant about Dime is that he knew the magic of simplicity. He was a skilled guitar player and could have written riffs far more complex, but chose to stay simple, which is almost always more effective. It takes a good writer to be able to understand that. I mean, the walk riff is what, two notes? Then you listen to this riff, Drag the waters Riff, Broken, Even Cemetery Gates is not all that complex. All the riffs were simple, but hard as hell and effective.
I think walk is three notes but you’re definitely right about simplicity. That’s one of the reasons I like hardcore punk, cause it’s loud and fast but not hella complex which I like.
There is one other guitarist that reminds me of how you described dime and that's Mick Mars.
if youve become a master of creating something, then youll know, that you start off simple, then go more and more advanced, then you go back to simple, except 30 times better. thats how you usually progress, atleast in my experience
@@frankevega Totally different style, but an apt comparison indeed. Mars is wicked talented but makes great catchy hooks and riffs that are relatively simple.

mr shekelstein would rather have your kids listen to the latest mechanically manufactured niggerbop mumble beats instead.
They reformed recently, though no signs of new release but there is plenty of great new music. You just have to search for it harder.
My personal recommendations for new, exciting music - Skinflint, Snowy Shaw, Rezet, Sons of Apollo, Melted Bodies, Avatar, Gunslingers, Compressorhead, Idles, Tengger Cavalry , Bloodywood, The Hu, Igorrr, Shining (Norway), Poppy, Nova Twins, Al-Namrood, Spiritbox, Plaag
Also, there’s been many great releases from established artists. Judas Priest, Machine Head, Korn, Metallica… even Arthur Brown, yes, the guy who made “Fire” back in 1968, now 80 years old, released new album this year, surprisingly great.

And I am grateful as fuck that my brother showed me Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, Sabaton, Black Sabbath to name a few ( Metallica and Megadeth too ) without him i wouldn't be the person I am and i would probably br listening to 1D and Justin Beiber. Metal will stand tall!
+Supercard Syndicate Nice a reply from a fellow WWE fan hell yeah man haha
Oh you like WWE too, how nice! Although I prefer to watch UFC. Yeah the only thing our generation can do to stay alive is keep listening and trying to introduce it to our future kids or try to get our friends into it. I hope to god that metal never dies! Nothing beats metal.
I'm so glad my mom put walk on in the car so much when I was like 3 in about 2007. Because of that I would go back and listen for nostalgia realizing it's friggin amazing. I was a metal head before I even knew it! And I've heard that I would sit in front of a fireplace and start singing walk. I don't remember that but I know if my sister does that I'm going to laugh my butt off
when i was about seven, i would sit upstairs listening to smoke on the water all day whilst my sister was downstairs with the top 40, and my dad would play maiden songs on his old radio... now i like brutal deathcore music. its great how little things can expose you to so much...
Pure fucking metal 🤘🏼 unfiltered, uncut, uncensored and in your face, Rest In Paradise Dimebag and Vinnie Paul and thank you.
💔
I still remember the day when my mom got home with this cassette tape album as my 19th bday gift. Mother knows best! Ma, you rock!
This was the perfect transition from screamo-glam metal 80s stuff to their power tungsten carbide metal they became.
This band Actually changed my life. I was a tall skinny beat down picked on kid before Pantera, then came ' A New Level'
Nowadays I don't take shit from no one. Not saying I'm a badass, but I I just hit that New Level. They help me unlock my potential.
Will be jamming Pantera in my 80s and 90s.
