This car is so beautiful! It was really ahead of its time back in the 80s. When I was a kid, these were already more than 10 years old and there were quite a few on the streets. I kept saying this was the car I wanna own when I grow up. Little did I know with my brain from back then, that the car fleet would evolve and that by the time I get my driver's license this car won't exist anymore. 😢 Nowadays I'm lucky if I can find at least 2 of these in the whole country, and those are not in good shape either. They are either in dire need of restauration or are impossible to register anymore.

Beautiful car, my grandma had the laser combi, 84 or 85 until 2016 when it was scrapped, so many childhood memories in this car, i want to get one but by the time i'd get around for it there probably wouldnt be many left in the world.
I have a xr4i, it has stand still for 11 years, i put new fuel in it, new sparkplugs, new fuelpomp and it runs right away, no tikking, no smoking, just perfect.
The Sierra was a very good car for it's time, in fact looking at it, very modern and for 1983, well thought out. Someone I know had the diesel version, not powerful, but ran past 300,000 miles and was still running when it went to the scrap yard.
The Sierra's were very popular cars, but with the usual Ford traits, rotted well and considering how many were manufactured, I would think very few of this type actually survive Today.

Nice one flex my dad had exact same….good driving good start up and very satisfying wash 👏🏼
Great find the MK 1 Sierra were a very popular car in the UK in the 80's and 90's 👍👍👍
Great video flexiny, great work, great car, and Ford 1.8 engine very tuneable, and rear wheel drive 👍👌😀
Sierras are popular again in Estonia. I had two Sierras back in the day, a great car.
I didn't expect flat out, glad it lives again !
nice. It's better than my Sierra which remains dormant at my parking space.
Ford Sierra: a car ahead of it's time 😉
Pinto's are brilliant engines. The Ford Type 9 gearbox is well sought after now as well.
Not from the 1.6 it’s a type 3 there got small output shaft lower ratio 2nd gear though
Pintos are great engines to turbo
May god bless you for reviving these beautiful fords and may the ford family In the sky watch over this car till she is reunited with her siblings in the sky💙🤍💙🤍
Muchas gracias x tus vídeos ...gran trabajo .... felicitaciones desde Uruguay.🇺🇾💪
cars like this just need to be preserved. congrats
Remember when these in the 1982 Birmingham motorshow. They looked so futuristic. Nice to see an early unmolested example.
This model sierra has almost completely dissapeared on the roads. The model after this one is sometimes spotted. I liked the sierra when it came out, especially with the closed grill :)
Atleast 3 where i live :)
Same for where I am from, always see cossies
i have one 84 GL with the bigger headlights and closed mask, why even have different car ? this one is the best i've ever owned
Bless you good man for taking the car
I'm daily driving a ford sierra for the past month always smiling never get board of her
Warms a Ford ❤ The 1.6 seems have some power too it to. Great video 😊👍
nice clutch nice gearbox nice engine
First car i ever drove on private land on my uncles lap when I was just 4 years old. Lol Respect to the Sierra
I used to own one of those. Brings back lads of memories
That motor sounds healthy . I like it 👌
Cool find, and it still has that original VV carb
The Sierra is more beautiful than one thinks.
I recently bought a Sierra Ghia 84 2.3. I'm struggling a bit with the starter motor and getting the stock carburetor. But I'm very proud to have it, it's very nice.
Yep! This is pretty much the exact process I remember having to go through everyday to start a secondhand scierra😁
Great old timer!! My Dad had the Sierra Laser.... back in the day. 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful car, my grandma had the laser combi, 84 or 85 until 2016 when it was scrapped, so many childhood memories in this car, i want to get one but by the time i'd get around for it there probably wouldnt be many left in the world.
Although some might find this car ugly, I always liked them even though we never officially got them here in the U.S.
What do you think the Merkur was..
The Merkur XR4 was basically a rebadged Sierra. Not overly popular in the US though, neither was the Merkur Scorpio a.k.a Ford Scorpio/Granada
My first car was a 1990 Sierra 2.0 DOHC. Really fun car at Finnish winter.
It's a great engine, 120hp Turbo :)
@@allissonrr1074 No turbo. Just pure 2.0 DOHC :)
Fantastic video. I loved the Sierra when they first came out but the Capri was my favourite 👍
Arguably one of the best winter beaters. ❤️
Worth restoring, since everything looks pretty okay actually. This beast is getting rarer and rarer by the day.
😍 this car is my favourite car of all time. Let me buy it from you!
"Nacidos Ford, nacidos fuertes" .
Saludos desde la cuidad de México!
I have a xr4i, it has stand still for 11 years, i put new fuel in it, new sparkplugs, new fuelpomp and it runs right away, no tikking, no smoking, just perfect.
I have to say iam impressed 👍
It looks in really good condition for how long its been sat for! Great video as always!! Keep up the good work
Yeah, way too good.. not been there since the 80s. Been stored inside.
I have only two words to use here. Lightning Rods.
We had it's sister over here in the States..the Merkur XR4ti turbo. 2.3 liter turbo. It was fast
Very cool and cleaned up really well! 😎👍 Time to rally!! 🚥🏁🏁🏁🏁😄
I watch your videos in France 👋
After so many years the engine still works great
