I feel like the older reaction videos were so much better because they had people reacting that enjoyed the music and weren't just making videos for rEaCtiOnS
Everyone is just trying to make money using clickbait. EVERYONE does the exact same songs and it's getting obvious that they already watched the video via another person's reaction. Oh well
Man I remember when Alex first started and he was a hip hop head getting into rock/metal and kinda judged it a bit..now he’s judging the younger a along with us…*sheds a tear*. He has morphed into one of us at last
I just want every older, non-gen z person to see this know that not every single one of us is like that. I myself do enjoy Nirvana, Korn, Linkin Park, System of a Down, and more from this 90's era of music.
"Some of the best music wouldn't have been here had it not been for the pain, trauma, depression...of the artist". You can see that even in classical music, composers like Mozart or Beethoven went through tough times but those helped them create. It happens in painting, in sculpture, in architecture, in literature, in performance arts...the greatest geniuses in history have often been deeply disturbed and tormented individuals. I think great intelligence and creativity are a blessing and a course at the same time and geniuses seem very unhappy.
Nirvana is the band that got me into music. Late 90s when i was in middle school and i got home, when no one else was in the house yet id just blare their cds in the living room. That band and Kurt will always have a special place in my heart
Nevermind came out my freshman year of high school and it drastically changed my perspective on music. At the time all I listened to prior to that was gangster rap and 50’s oldies.
These guys were from the previous generation of reactors, before all the problems the Fine Bros had. Tbh it was a much better time, had a wider range of people reacting to things, felt a lot more genuine too.
They are also millenials, not sayings its better or worse but they are a literal different generation compared to current teens so have different opinions. A lot of millenials watched fine bros at the time so relate to these reactors more than the gen z reactors now.
LOVE your reactions! This made my day. And your pineapple shirt is on point. Peace, brother. Funny to see a few of them, all grown up. Ugh, I feel old. 😂
I was 10 years old listening to Nirvana ( thanks older sister ) so I truly grew up with them and they are who I thank for falling in love with music xo Kurt Cobain holds a huge piece of my heart and always will ❤
I was 20 years old that Fall in 1993 when they played in Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens... What a great year, Lollapalooza earlier that summer (Primus, Alice in Chains, Arrested Development, Babes in Toyland, Dinosaur Jr., Fishbone, Front 242, Rage Against the Machine and Tool.). What a time to be alive, wish he felt the same and didn't have the demons he had. I feel so old with watching these reactions but happy to know it is still cherished by most. I truly hope your Gen(s) get to experience a similar emergence of a cool new scene/genre such as that of the 90's.
Nirvana was great. I remember doing homework at the time and seeing the World Premier of the video on MTV. And knew it was going to be big thereafter. However, their album Bleach is better than Nevermind. Another band out of Seattle about that time was Mother Love Bone. Andrew Wood OD'd the night of their CD release. Members went on to form Pearl Jam.
Speaking of the all the Seattle bands (grunge is only a label for bands that played very different styles of music) only Pearl Jam, Melvins and Mudhoney are still around. It was hard to see that so many people of that time died cos of their drug use. Saw Pearl Jam last year live again, but Alice In Chains is my favourite band of them all.
Oh it makes me cringe when kids can’t appreciate a classic like Nirvana. I remember when Nirvana made their debut and I loved them from the start. R.I.P. Kurt.
Great reaction Alex as always. These teens are cool. Nirvana is one of the most iconic bands of all time, Heart-Shaped Box is my favorite song by them. RIP Kurt Cobain, he may be gone but his spirit will live on forever.🙏😪❤. You should check out when elders listen to Korn for the first time, it's hilarious.
Alex, let me tell you about mosh pits, I never have been in the middle of one, but I have been pretty close to where the mosh pit was and it looked crazy. Now, one concert I was at, which included the bands Helloween, Exodus and Anthrax. Anthrax was the main act, and this was in the late 1980's. Anyway a sort of mosh pit developed right behind me and I was sitting on the floor area, but there was a space behind me before the seating that went upward in the building. Anyway, I felt something going on behind me and I see a few men start moshing in a circle then started bumping into each other and started fighting. Maybe 10 involved, then security got involved and all hell broke loose. Head locks and punching and security had to sit on a few of the men till they tried to drag them out. I was a bit scared. I have been to other concerts with a mosh pit and it looks scary. I saw Anthrax another time with a mosh pit, not sure any other times. Some might think how do I like to go to heavy metal concerts when I am an introvert who also has Asperger's syndrome. I don't know, I just love the music, the beat, rhythm, melody and everything. I love Anthrax, Rush, Dream Theater, Times of Grace, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Overkill, Fates Warning and others. Don't know what it is. But don't think I would ever go into the mosh pit, but it looked scary. Thought you might get a kick out of this.
Interesting take, I enjoyed reading your perspective! I consider myself kind of a moshpit veteran, went into my first big moshpit when I was around 15/16 and I'm 27 now. I know it's not for everyone, but I love the culture around it so much and the energy you can put into it combined with the hard sound of metal. Most moshpits are intense but are actually not that dangerous. A lot of pushing, when someone falls they immediately get protected and lifted up by a few people, and when someone loses something, people form a wall to protect the search area and everyone begins looking for it. But I gotta admit, there are a few moshpits I'd definately stay away from. Doesn't surprise me that Anthrax would have moshpits I'd stay out of. I bet not every mosh pit at Anthrax is this aggressive, but your example sounds like a pit even I would reconsider. Anyways, just wanted to share my perspective. And most important, just enjoy metal concerts the way you'd like to, right? Everyones welcome, as long as they have a good time and not hurt other people who do not want to be hurt 😉 Rock on bro!
@beeedifferent wow, thanks for sharing that. The one show I mentioned that a mini mosh pit developed, well the arena did not usually have heavy metal concerts. It was more for classical shows or similar. So the only way a mosh pit could happen was the way it did with just around 10 people circling the wagons kind of thing behind the floor seating. The other Anthrax show was made for that music because it had a nice area in front of the stage to mosh. That was a sea of people squished together in a way.
I feel like Kurt wasn't happy with success, but had he lived, he would have been pleased by the fact others took influence from him and added to the collective discography. Kurt himself was very open about how influenced he was by people who came before him. Side note. His cover of Bowies "The Man Who Sold the World" is in my top ten favorite covers ever. Just ahead of Sonic Youths cover of The Carpenters "Superstar"
This video gave me nostalgia inception which I didn't realize could happen but here we are. I got nostalgia for the songs but I also got nostalgia for the older react channels....strange days.
I remember watching this when it first came out and my heart went out to the guy in the blue t-shirt (Tom Phelan). He knew how Kurt Cobain died as it was the same way his own brother died
It’s a weird paradox with nirvana. In the 90’s the appearance of bands looked more relatable. Just humans wearing normal clothes. That alone attracts people to be interested. Then you have songs that everyone can relate to. Brings even more attention to bands. In a odd way I understand why Kurt didn’t like popular songs cause it’s just the expectation to play it everywhere the band goes till they can’t no more and it loses the magic it had. I always like to hear other tracks on the albums live cause their equally as good as the singles in the album. I get both ways It’s a weird double edge sword with nirvana. Forever love the band and I hope he can rest peacefully. \\m//
I saw them live in Germany at the Time they where not Famous and it was a great experience. We even talked a bit while i bought a T-shirt and had a little laugh. I still become very sad infact he killed himself, what a loss.😢
Nirvana is one of my all-time favorite bands! Dave Grohl talks in his book about how Kurt was quoted as saying he wanted to be the biggest band in the world. I think he got that wish, but too much too soon. That and his drug addiction really messed with his psyche and pushed him down a dark path. It’s a damn shame. Dave also mentions how he thinks about Kurt being alive today. How he wishes Kurt could see how much happiness his music brings the world, and maybe that could have changed how things turned out. Edit: Foo Fighters is my favorite band of all time and I’m not certain Dave would have gone on to start FF without Kurt’s passing, but it would have been interesting to see where Kurt, Dave, and Krist would have ended up had Kurt never died and Nirvana had gone on for however much longer.
You should watch the movie "Hype! Surviving the Northwest Sound Explosion". It will give you an idea of what happened in Seattle in the late 70's through the 80's till grunge took of in the esarly 90's. It does include all the bigger name like Nirvana, but shows you all the other bands that never really hit anything mainstream.
something cool here, when i was in army basic training, my senior drill seargeant went to basic training with the bassist from nirvana. one of his drill sargeants found out who he was by accident. my drill sargeant told us " i was standing next to him it was jsut us, when our drill sargeant walked out holding a magazine, he held it up to him and just said " this you" and he nodded" the drill sargeant never went off and told anyone openly about who he was, kept it on the dl to not cause a disruption. the bassist of nirvana went on to join army special forces.
You know I was watching a video on Punk rock MBA and he put it in a way I had never thought and that was the fact the us as fans are a part of people like Kirt, Chester, and the others early demise because as fans we really are cheering on there down fall in a way we want more music and tours nd videos and interviews. We also mold the songs to fit our lives instead of listening to it as the artist troubles
I was 14 in 91 I really enjoyed Nirvana from the jump. I use to eat acid as a young teen mainly so I could watch Headbangers Ball and Liquid Tv. So yes I’ve seen a lot of Nirvana tripping. ✌️
Love grunge... Just did a guitar cover of Polly and here i am watching this video... amazing how the algorithm works ... About A Girl was my first song ever to play on the guitar... love it
My 12 year old son has been obsessed with them since he was 7. He's been playing a guitar since he was 8. He's also a hard core metal head and I'm super proud. He can play that guitar till his fingers bleed. It all started with Kurt Cobain, Silverchair, and Black Sabbath. Now this kid listens to some shit that's too hard for me! 😅
Seeing the teens embrace this music is great. My cousin (Cobain) would appreciate them. And answering your statement about Teen Spirit, Kurt loved singing Drain You
I love nirvana and going back to what said in the end of this vid I think it’s an interesting topic because if Kurt was still here on this earth and Nirvana was still a band I think it would look very different in the sense that Kurt would no longer be a member or if you really think about it we probably won’t have Foo Fighters. But yeah overall this video was cool and would love to see more but it would be cool to see you check out more sleep token and I think you will really enjoy their song Higher and Sugar
You need to try mushrooms man. I tried them for the first time a couple months ago while I was at work. And it was like a magical adventure. Could do without the feeling that time was slowing down. That shift felt like an eternity.
Kurt didn't hate the song Teen Spirit so much as the type of people it brought to his shows. He went as far as to write songs about it (i.e.- In Bloom).
if I remember right, the unplugged set was less "kurt refuses to play the hits" and more "the band wanted to play the songs that would sound good accoustic - does anyone need to hear smells like teen spirit accoustic?" and it was the right call.
I like these videos and all... But seriously when are you going to check more into these new Slipknot songs... Im actually very surprised you haven't reacted to more... The restraint alex....its not needed The maggots need you 🤘✊
I accidentally landed in a mosh pit during Sound Garden at Lollapalooza 1992. I was 16 & I'm a 4'10" female! Not fun! I got the heck outta there as quickly as possible! As for Nirvana, I remember exactly where I was when I first heard Smells Like Teen Spirit. It just changed everything!
Alex, I was in a mosh pit at a Body Count show back in the 90's in San Francisco and Ice-T said "It's not a body count show unless there's blood in the pit" and we were all respectful and nice in the pit. Super fun show.
Well... He actually did want to make Nirvana explode in the world, and he worked really hard to do it, but he didn't like when it did, and what he find out was the "dream" was actually a nightmare... and this was just one more thing to f*c& up his head at the time....
i was a teenager 8 years ago. i was freaking 16. but i grew up listening to nirvana, linkin park, korn, slipknot. and later bands like asking alexandria etc. so i really dont feel like i belong in this group even tho they where around my age back then
Nirvana's popularity didn't skyrocket until after Cobain died. They were a successful band, but they got a lot more widespread mainstream radio play after he died than when they were active.
Great video, long time subscriber. Keep talking hard. 🤓 The duty of youth is to challenge corruption. Kurt cobain As an old Gen X er, Nirvana and the grunge music scene, was a welcoming voice to a stagnant generation. We were smart enough not to buy into the 80s bowel cocaine life style. Yet we all knew the game was fixed, the jobs or parents and grandparents had been being destroyed by corporate greed.😎🇺🇸
I'm Gen X and I freakin love Nirvana! About what that one kid said about 'more or less the same problems of any generation of kids'.....well when I was growing up, we had fired drills, the kids nowadays have freakin active shooter drills. Its sad. I feel for those kids. I remember when columbine happened it was huge news, but now it happens so often it feels like its become just another Tuesday so to speak.
Wow. This video makes me feel so old. LOL. Ok, so at 35 seconds in, Alex is talking about "roasting the younger generations". I'm older than he is older than those reacting. EEK. So here's the weirdest bit. I graduated high school in 1995. Prior to becoming a metal head in college, I listened to nothing but 50's and 60's rock. That made me "oh so popular" in high school. LOL. So while in high school, I was listening to music 30-40 years old. It was considered "old peoples music". So fast forward to now, and music 30 years old is from 1993. So Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Spin Doctors, Stone Temple Pilots, Offspring, etc. Yet, somehow, the kids today know it and (by and large) still like it. I think it shows that music really hasn't changed that much in the last few decades. Obvious differences, sure, but not as much as me listening to the Beach Boys and Monkees in 1993. Just fascinating to think about.
Yo this female artist I just found is rain Paris, her new single pain // happiness has major evanescence vibes it’s so good you should def check it out
This reminds me of Jim Carey, dude became a character just too prove a point in Hollywood... he grew to hate it and had to relearn how to appreciate the person he is/was. Kurt also didn't kill himself in my opinion.... I came to this conclusion after watching the documentary "Soaked in Bleach".
I don’t know where everyone gets the impression that kurt never played hits live. I’ve went through damn well almost all of nirvanas live shows you can find on the internet (which is actually suprisingly the majority of them) and they played several of the hits often. hell smells like teen spirit was one of the most played songs, it was really only in 1992 when they would try to avoid playing it and even then they still played it alot.
I feel like the older reaction videos were so much better because they had people reacting that enjoyed the music and weren't just making videos for rEaCtiOnS
Genuine? Yeah..
The react channel has just gone down hill. It is way over the top now and not as enjoyable.
Everyone is just trying to make money using clickbait. EVERYONE does the exact same songs and it's getting obvious that they already watched the video via another person's reaction.
Oh well
Also, wokness still wasnt that strong yet
Accurate.
Man I remember when Alex first started and he was a hip hop head getting into rock/metal and kinda judged it a bit..now he’s judging the younger a along with us…*sheds a tear*. He has morphed into one of us at last
I still love his reaction to Ghost Love Score Live performance with Nightwish
havent seen this channel in a bit. its pretty weird to see how alex transformed😅
Part of the ship, part of the crew.
One of us.
Awww maaaan! I remember those olden days of yore. 😂 How our little boy has all grown up eh? Haa!🤘
I just want every older, non-gen z person to see this know that not every single one of us is like that. I myself do enjoy Nirvana, Korn, Linkin Park, System of a Down, and more from this 90's era of music.
"Railfan105" Zoomer here, I love those bands as well
This is me exactly top 3 bands 1 nirvana 2 korn 3 soad
also Foo fighters
@Railfan105
Generation is based on Family position, not age, dumbass.
I agree 100% I love nirvana, AIC, Metallica, as well as tons of 80s and 70s rock, it’s just the SHIT like how could you not like it?
I'm 37 and grunge is STILL my favorite genre. It made me so happy to see these kids connecting to Kurt and the music all these years later.
39 here and the same feeling....
Industry took out art of music in order to sell, music this days got no soul.
51 and it’s still my favorite. Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, STP, Mother Love Bone … all of them
Im 38 ... I still listen Nirvana
NIrvana and Slipknot were my introduction to the rock world almost 15 years ago, and I don't fcking regret it

I love nirvana! What an underground band.
kek
I think the drummer went on to drum in another cool band. But don’t quote me on that
@Im Errorz Get out of here! I love them!
r/whoosh
It's freakin called grunge ! not underground duh
Haven’t seen that video in years. I remember the kid who said he was a big Nirvana fan but only knew Smells Like Teen Spirit 😂

Born in 2003, I listen from 60's all the way up to modern music. I freaking love Nirvana. Inspired me to learn guitar and create my own band.
Kurts mother said during the hof that he loved all his songs,,, despite pretending not to.

I remember staying up late to watch the unplugged. In my opinion, def one of the best, if not The Best One.
Kurt was sick during the Unplugged çoncert and still went out and nailed it.
If I'm I'm an off mood your reactions make me smile and laugh, thank you for that

You should also try to hear Eyedea, a big underground rap artist who had a rock album as well called carbon carousel
I was 14 in 91 I really enjoyed Nirvana from the jump. I use to eat acid as a young teen mainly so I could watch Headbangers Ball and Liquid Tv. So yes I’ve seen a lot of Nirvana tripping. ✌️

I grew up in the 70s. James Taylor when trippin was amazing!! Ahhh the 70s
I was born in 1999, and I find it very strange when I see someone who doesn't know Kurt Cobain
That's the same year my Little Brother was born and he also knows Nirvana and he's more of a Hip Hop/Rap fan but even he knows and likes Nirvana
@@Werewolf914
Yup, he's a legend, another example would be Michael Jackson... even if you're not of his generation obviously you know him
Dude im loving the mike myers mask behind you
i loved react videos with adam and alix they both seem like my kind of people. really this whole group of kids was great. the new ones suck.
"Red Shirt" Adam was and is my favorite reactor whenever they've had him on
Everyone serves their purpose. Right or left , good or bad! ♡ or 🎛 !!!!!!!!! Much ❤ Alex. You always make me smile ☺
Before Kurt Cobain passed away he was gonna leave Nirvana and quit music because he wasn't having fun anymore.
Rumor has it he was leaving Courtney too and taking her out of his will. Now he's dead. Things that make you go hmmmmm
OMG IS THAT THE T SHIRT BRAND??? I DIDNT KNOW THEY MADE MUSIC!! 💅💅
Seeing the teens embrace this music is great. My cousin (Cobain) would appreciate them.
And answering your statement about Teen Spirit, Kurt loved singing Drain You
Loved this era of the fine bros.
4:57....yes sir. And it's amazing
This was great. I miss that dude.

Alex, "someone's broken heart becomes your favorite song" - Dave Matthews
I love nirvana and going back to what said in the end of this vid I think it’s an interesting topic because if Kurt was still here on this earth and Nirvana was still a band I think it would look very different in the sense that Kurt would no longer be a member or if you really think about it we probably won’t have Foo Fighters. But yeah overall this video was cool and would love to see more but it would be cool to see you check out more sleep token and I think you will really enjoy their song Higher and Sugar

We made it there folks. Reaction of reaction videos. Unbelievable.
Marilyn Manson was the first person to label that sound grunge.
He used it in a old article from the magazine he worked for way way back in the day.
You need to try mushrooms man. I tried them for the first time a couple months ago while I was at work. And it was like a magical adventure. Could do without the feeling that time was slowing down. That shift felt like an eternity.
I agree these kids are way better than the most recent bunch.
I’m 14 and Kurt contain is the reason why I play guitar, some teens today still have good taste.
I like these videos and all...
But seriously when are you going to check more into these new Slipknot songs...
Im actually very surprised you haven't reacted to more...
The restraint alex....its not needed
The maggots need you 🤘✊
Don't worry, we exist. Nirvana is my favorite band. Love playing them on guitar and drums

Many different Psychedelics, At many different concerts, Sporting events and thene parks.
Wasn't heart shaped box on guitar hero 2 which was all cover songs? Or was that just in the UK cuz of rights?
I accidentally landed in a mosh pit during Sound Garden at Lollapalooza 1992. I was 16 & I'm a 4'10" female! Not fun! I got the heck outta there as quickly as possible! As for Nirvana, I remember exactly where I was when I first heard Smells Like Teen Spirit. It just changed everything!
heart shaped box is my favorite song from nirvana
Alex, I was in a mosh pit at a Body Count show back in the 90's in San Francisco and Ice-T said "It's not a body count show unless there's blood in the pit" and we were all respectful and nice in the pit. Super fun show.
Alex loved Tori in this reaction but despised her so much during the Linkin Park reaction. The character development 😂
Well... He actually did want to make Nirvana explode in the world, and he worked really hard to do it, but he didn't like when it did, and what he find out was the "dream" was actually a nightmare... and this was just one more thing to f*c& up his head at the time....
Alex dont hit yourself on my behalf.
I love you too much for that dawg
Unrelated to the video but Yo i love your pineapple tank top!
i was a teenager 8 years ago. i was freaking 16. but i grew up listening to nirvana, linkin park, korn, slipknot. and later bands like asking alexandria etc. so i really dont feel like i belong in this group even tho they where around my age back then
Nirvana's popularity didn't skyrocket until after Cobain died. They were a successful band, but they got a lot more widespread mainstream radio play after he died than when they were active.
Alex where is our 72 seasons album reaction??? Nah I know it takes a bit, thanks for all the videos bro!

That first teen spirit joke was for some reason so funny.
2:57 I almost fell out of chair laughing😂😂👍👍👍
I love you, man. Thanks for resist all that shit from REACT for our entertainment.
Great video, long time subscriber. Keep talking hard. 🤓
The duty of youth is to challenge corruption.
Kurt cobain
As an old Gen X er, Nirvana and the grunge music scene, was a welcoming voice to a stagnant generation. We were smart enough not to buy into the 80s bowel cocaine life style. Yet we all knew the game was fixed, the jobs or parents and grandparents had been being destroyed by corporate greed.😎🇺🇸
Ok Alex I'm with you on everything you said. Watch unsolved mysteries about Kurt
People started a mosh pit on me assuming I wanted to be part of that and I got my friggin glasses broken.
Hi Alex! Hope you are swell and well

I loved the bleach album was my most favorite album it was so gritty and dark i loved it.
I hate being a teen and seeing other teens with nirvana shirts and knowing dam well they have no idea who they are
44yr old guy here and mat i say these kids give me hope for a still young Audiants at my shows in 2023.
"Get out, kid". Congratulations, Alex, you've joined our hallowed ranks of Get Off My Lawn. You won't regret it.
I saw Nirvana , Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Pearl.Jam in 1991
L.A Sports Arena
ONE OF THE GREATEST CONCERTS EVER !!!!
going back to the old reacts, this ,must be 10 years or older
Red shirt guy, Adam, does know his stuff.

Adam (Red shirt) has a band called The Model Youth (pop punk type of sound). their music is pretty good

I look away for just a couple of months and Alex turns into a serial killer from the 70s. What's up with the mustache and the aviators?!
As the old man in the room, at least they are being exposed to my childhood. Hahaha
