The Monat chick just made me realize why MLMs mostly don't work in Europe - they can't come here with the argument of "paid time off", "flexibel workhours" etc. because that's normal for us here. We have paid time of, maternity leave etc.
Yes, from what I see in Poland, groups of people targetted by MLMs are different than in USA. Female teenagers and young adults are Avon and Oriflame sellers. They treat it just as side job bringing them maybe 200 zlotys (50 dollars), they don't recruit, their clients are girls in their schools or universities. But I think these MLMs are slowly dying since drug store chains (Rossmann, Super Pharm, Hebe) have expanded to small towns. Who wants to order products from catalogue and wait for the delivery while you can go to a store, check a lot of products, try them, smell them, and buy them at once. Male reps are targetted by MLMs offering perfume (Polish company FM Group), supplements (Forever Living), and financial services (OVB). These MLMs promise luxury cars and vacations, passive income from your downline, they promote an image of a respected entrepreneur - you're not a real man if you have a boss, you need to be your own boss, have your own buisness!
That would explain why they’re not super popular here in Canada, too. I’ve been watching these videos wondering why I don’t see them much here, and that explains a lot. I doubt they would pay even close to minimum wage here, and we have quite good employee packages and social services. Obviously there’s still plenty of room for improvement, but we don’t seem to have the same dire employment situations the States seems to have?
Hair colorist here - Monat is the bane of our existence. Her hair actually looks more like it has a lot of breakage rather than new growth, and it looks like breakage from lightener and likely using too much/high heat when styling. Also, new growth is happening for everyone all the time. There are times (around every 5-7 years) when the hair sheds more than usual, but for most people this is not terribly noticeable. For the sake of brevity, I recommend looking up the different stages of hair follicles. Other things like hormones or illness can cause more shedding than normal as well. When there is more shedding than normal, for some people the new growth can be more obvious. It depends on hair density, texture, etc.

To the Monat lady who was so proud to take a week off (but she still worked in pockets of time): I’ve had to take family leave for two weeks when my child had issues. My boss actually recommended it. I had to take a month off for emergency surgery. Guess what? I got paid the whole time and never even thought about work. These huns never stuck in a real job long enough to get to the level where you are a valued employee. They always compare their jobs to an hourly entry level worker with a crappy boss (which is sadly the situation many are stuck in during these hard economic times).
when my brother in law died my husband got 2 weeks off and his company paid for his plane ticket home. that wasn't part of a package or anything the company owner just did that
Omg Hannah. I can't believe I've been missing the chance to work during pockets of time while caring for my baby instead of being paid sick leave while I cared for my child and not worrying about work. How silly I've been.
It's like no one in an MLM knows what PTO is. It's so weird. It's like they don't have a way of spinning it to make the MLM look good, so they just resort to comparing the opportunity to jobs without benefits which appeals to people with those types of jobs, which is so predatory and gross.
That's a good point, it appeals to people with crappy jobs already, I never thought of it that way. I also just wanna say that I think a ton of these women are stay at home moms that, if they ever worked, worked crappy retail and food service jobs cuz they were young... I'm a stay at home mom, I'm not knocking stay at home moms, just that specific kind of person
Yup. I worked for a grocery store for years and we got PTO and vacation, plus very good insurance benefits. And I got paid for time spent working as well.
Jessie Lee does this "repeating the same word/sentence to emphasize" thing and IT JUST MAKES ME WANT TO LOG OFF EVERY TIME. She has got to be the ONE mlmer that I need proper mental energy to listen to in a commentary channel. How do these people get trained by this woman?! It's so much noise, and I do mean "noise". She has no substance, it's just meant to make you get lost so she comes out as this knowledgeable person. SHE'S NOT. She mainly just speaks loudly, in dumb metaphors and analogies, and when she runs out of content she sticks on one word and repeats it 20 times. It's so irritating and insulting.
So basically you can use that mouthwash for any purpose you might use alcohol, which is probably mostly what it's made of. Rubbing alcohol costs like $2, if you have urgent calf-umbilical-cord needs.
USE AS CONTACT SOLUTION??!! As a contact wearer my eyes just cringed. If there is one speck of non contact solution substance on my contacts my eyes feel like they're dying. I cant even imagine using mouthwash, that shit will probably make you go blind
The same thing that you ingest for tummy aches or use like you would bleach. Could that woman be sued if someone was blinded? Was there a disclaimer, does there need to be one? I'd love to know what a lawyer says.
That substance sounds too aggressive for contacts alone, without getting into the eyes, like 😅 I had to soak mine (hard ones) in a harsh substance every once in a while but having them in something like this all the time????
How did I not know my I was vibrating at the wrong energy frequencies!?!? Clearly, now all my problems will be solved just as soon as I can vibrate correctly. So glad she cleared that up for me!! 😳
It’s crazy that the lady saying taking care of her son didn’t impact her paycheck is comparing it to a “normal” job yet forgetting that a “normal” job has insurance and sick leave.
Oh dear. As an RN, in case anyone was vaguely wo during about the wonderful healing powers of your mouthwash, this is my friendly reminder that you should never ever ever put ANYTHING except cool running water on a burn, and that your post operation wound sites similarly untouched until they have healed. Frankly it's upsetting that these huns aren't legally culpable for putting these instructions and endorsements to the world and the fallout from them, but if someone slips at Walmart they can sue for millions.
when I had an eating disorder, my friend took me to an herbalife party. the host brought up my eating disorder and it was awkward! Years later I'm better now.
Clip 2: - According to the United States workforce Bureau, over 76% of Americans work in a job that provides them with PTO. So this idea that she was able to take a week off of work and have her check unaffected is not abnormal. Even in entry level positions, many Americans are able to accrue PTO hours. I work in healthcare and usually take anywhere from 2-4 fully paid weeks off of work in a year. The difference being that I only have to work 40 hour weeks in order to obtain those PTO hours whereas in an MLM you work 24/7 and aren’t guaranteed any time off with pay… God I love these videos Hannah!!!!
Great video! The mouthwash thing makes me think of the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding lol. And the dad basically used/suggested Windex for everything 😂.
I mean, people with anxiety have been shown to loose weight slightly faster AND have better muscle mass retention SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE we shake like crazed chihuahuas so…. Maybe she’s got a point 🤷
She used her DEAD DOG to get sales?! One of my dogs had a major health scare last week and all I could do was cry and worry, and my actual job gave me the day off paid to try to relax and to figure out his issue. How absolutely terrible of her (My dog is ok now thankfully)
I have no idea why but the ending “your voice needs to be heard” got me kinda emotional. I think Hannah has a beautiful way of making all of her viewers feel individually important. ❤️
I can't explain why, but I found "Cleans whiteboards beautifully" the most hilarious! Doesn't WATER do just as well... Or virtually ANY liquid? On what planet would someone use an overpriced pharmaceutical to wash a whiteboard?? 😂😂😂
Half of the things on this list can be accomplished with plain old water (which is what their mouth wash mainly consists of anyway since it has no alcohol) or cheap household staples like hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol! At almost $10 for 500mL using this is so unnecessary, but I guess they want you to burn through it as fast as possible so you can buy more.
Finally we can be heard!! I’m so grateful for this community. You’ve made me feel less ashamed of almost being roped into an MLM, myself. Please mention the FTC comment in every video!! We need all the voices we can get towards this! These videos also never feel long enough!
Dude, my cats are like my children. I cry at least once every couple of weeks because I remember that I will outlive them and I get sad. When they pass away, you will not catch me on social media for WEEKS. That’s despicable.
I don’t know how I stumbled across your channel but I’m obsessed . The only time I’ve dealt with mlm is when I “won” A “facial” from Mary Kay . And when I had a “job interview” for cutco right out of high school. I watch these all day, while I’m in the shower , while I’m driving for DoorDash I have it on, while I’m cooking dinner . Lol
I am a licensed cosmetologist and this is hair loss/breakage. This is not "new growth". And her amount is pretty bad. Either the products used-stress- damage or wearing up to tight all the time.
I'm still in the middle of watching the video, but I just want to say how happy I've been to find you and this content. I hate these with a passion but I am surrounded by them. And as someone that has tried (had to take a step back for family) to get my own business going (I'm a seamstress), they make me so angry. I posted something on Facebook at one point showing my friends why I stopped posting my things on Etsy. Just because I hand make literally everything I've ever sold, but lots on Etsy were buying similar items in bulk from overseas, putting some embroidery on it and calling it "handmade" but their prices were a fraction of what I had to charge to not just lose money. On that post I had like 6 mlm crazies sit there and try to relate and compare their situation to mine. I was pissed. Anyway, I'm thrilled this is all getting out there. Side note, I made my Belle gown I'm wearing in my picture.
Your gown in beautiful! I used to make and sell jewelry on Ebay, years ago. I ran into similar problems. It's so frustrating. Best wishes on your business!
"Passive income is the new normal"; PLEASE GOD NO! Every time I hear the words "passive income" when it means using the work of others to make money, I want to scream.
@@WhitePigeon1986 You can still lose money investing "wisely"; there are never any guarantees that you won't lose money. Invest only what you can afford to lose.
@@timriehl1500 true, but it's technically passive income. You're not working or expecting other people to earn the money for you. That was the point. I completely understand that you can lose money. It was just an example of a legitimate form of passive income.
@@timriehl1500 ah! No, I'm not one of those. I'm not even investing at the moment. Too risky. But that's why I said "wisely". You can still lose money, but you can get decent returns if you diversify your portfolio. I'm no investment specialist and I've dabbled in it briefly. But I'm pretty sure you can get a decent ROI with diversification. Good luck if you're currently investing!
The “chux” mention in the ridiculous mouthwash list is not an incontinence pad, but a household cleaning cloth I believe. I’m Australian, and Chux is the market leader in a particular type of cheap cleaning cloth, we use the word generically for any brand of that kind of cloth. Please still do not clean your baby with mouthwash on a cloth, though!
Okay, wasn't going to comment again, but oh my gosh!! One of my 3 year old twins landed in the hospital in January for a week. We narrowly avoided surgery on his tiny little skull. I was there with him for a week. Both of us missing daddy/husband and siblings. It was scary and stressful. But my poor baby was going through trauma and it makes me so mad that people would use that time when their child needs ALL of them, to sell crap. 🤬🤬🤬
I have very fine hair and a simple change i made to help minimize how much my hair breaks when i put it up in a pony tail is to use scrunchies instead of the regular elastic bands. I know it sounds like its right out of the 80s, but it works pretty well for me and I highly recommend it.
I’ve had jobs with PTO since I was 19. I’m almost 30. My sister got vacation time as a shift lead at a locally owned pizza place. I know not all jobs have benefits, but it baffles me how so many of these adult women don’t even understand what benefits are or that they exist
Licensed mental health therapist here. These MLMs that claim to treat mental health disgust me. Their claims are dangerous and I’ve seen real people suffer due to them. Thank you for outing this.
Me, laughing because these mouthwash "ways to use" are 99% because there is alcohol in mouthwash and you could just buy some first aid alcohol for $1 at the store lol. I've never heard of that company before lol
To answer your hair question from 17:45! This is not a perfect answer but I went to cosmetology (no longer a stylist and it’s been 10 years since I graduated) but each of your different strands of hair are in different stages of growth. We loose about 100 strands of hair a day so of course each hair is going to be in different lengths and of course breakage can also be a contributing factor. Hope this helped 💕
Ooohhh right on Hannah, I am so glad you brought up MLM Change! Thank you for sending people over there - every comment counts! And everyone deserves to be heard 💖
When I was in my early 20s I joined an mlm and this was way before all the education we have now so I fell in sure I was going to stay home with my daughter blah blah blah. What I found most damaging to my life was the credit card that was available to me to grow my inventory. I paid high interest on that inventory for years later after I quit the mlm. Beware!
That last bit about the mouthwash reminds me of the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, where the dad thought that Windex basically had all those superpowers, lol!
I know this wasn't meant to be funny, but the end part where we were done "spraying all the cows eyeballs and caravans" made me laugh out loud. I really don't understand why mouthwash isn't good enough for its purpose alone either, but here we are. Thank you for another great video.
As a hairstylist- your hair is always in a cycle of growing, falling out, and regrowing. This is why you have hair in your hairbrush when you brush. All those small hairs are either hair that has broken off or hair that is in different cycles of the hair growth phase. It’s totally normal for literally everybody to have small hairs in different lengths throughout your hair
Haha! That Tinder Swindler lesson was jawdropping. It reminded me so much of my personal experience years ago. When the movie “The Founder“ came out, our emerald upline actually wanted to have a movie night to watch it all together and to really take a note on the “positive aspects” of Kroc’s journey. I felt sick when I heard that. My whole SEVEN YEARS trying to make this business work flashed before my eyes and it was the last time I associated myself with them.
So I've just fallen down the MLM documentary rabbit hole so had never heard of Jessie Lee until this video. Googled her while watching this and...woah. Wild seeing how she ended up, but absolutely not surprised.
I’m a professional who knows the answer! That blowdryer thing happens to literally everyone bc your follicles are going through the growth phases at different rates. New hair grows in while old hair falls out so don’t worry it might not be all breakage!
Ear aches for CHILDREN! NO!!!! Post Op wounds?! Oh my goodness gracious! Also you are amazing for spreading the info about the FTC comment section period. ❤
I'm so glad you ended with that one. I didn't realize I was starting to feel sad after the previous stories, but that last one had me laughing so hard! Can I just do all of this with my regular mouth wash? lmao
That mouthwash post is wild. It reminds me of those Orangina (French sunny-d but with pulp) ads where animal people use it for things like mop fluid, antiperspirant, cologne, stain remover, laundry detergent, etc. The only difference is that those French ads were a joke.
Please tell me HOW Jessie Lee thought comparing her MLM "business" to the practices of a SCAMMER was a good idea?! We're all well aware these companies suck, but it's almost like these huns are trying to rub it in our faces at this point lol embarrassing, to say the least.
The post about the dead dog gave me flashbacks to one of the only times an MLM hun tried to sell something to me. She was running a pet cremation center close to where I lived. I had just lost my beloved cat that day, completely out of the blue, since he was only 3, and was just feeling awful and vulnerable. And that woman had nothing better to do than try and tell me about the "feel good nutritional products" of her scam company. MLMs aren't super common where I live, but I knew about them and managed to get out without buying anything. Back then I wasn't in a mental state to call her out. I sure wish I had spoken up immediately.
Thank you for bringing our ability to share with the FTC, to light. I shared a bit of my experience with them. This was my first time sharing my experience (besides a few loved ones). Thank you!
The mouthwash list reminded me of Avon. I used to sell Avon and during a meeting they provided a list of all the different ways that their Bubble Bath and Skin So Soft can be used.
Boss Lee has to know what she's doing, I've always imagined somewhere down the line she'll find another business avenue and do a tell all of the network marketing world 🤣
Ok, you got me with the “whenever you are having a bad day you can remember that there are modere hubs who are spraying mouthwash into their eyes.” I almost choked on my coffee 🤣🤣🤣
You know , in my big fat Greek wedding when they said windex cures everything , this is even better. If a mouthwash removes stains ….. I definitely don’t want it in my mouth , my eyes or MY KIDS EARS
I thought Jessie Lee was going to be the topper on this cake, but reading the mouthwash list...I was entertained but also horrified. At least I know how to finally clean my fax machine.
I'm a public school teacher. I put in a LOT of work August through May, and I get 2 months summer vacation, a week for spring break, 2 weeks for Christmas, paid sick leave, bereavement, professional development days AND personal days... And retirement! Those days are a lot better "passive income" than her MLM's. I can't imagine the stress of having to grind during a "vacation" or try to catch up when I get back to work for the days I missed. Honestly I have the best gig. It's so much work and it's hard, but I get so much in return, and I'm ACTUALLY making a difference. Not just being preachy about shampoo..
Will definitely be adding a comment and hoping for that amazing change from the FTC. Omg Jessie Lee… she knows EXACTLY what she is doing. She is not one of the ones that is brainwashed - she totally knows she scamming people and it’s awful. She knows what's up Ok … off to watch the rest of the video!
Kay so for the mouthwash list I can see some actually making sense like for shoe smell or cleaning a counter and putting in places to remove smells or something but some are totally ridiculous like mouthwash I in eyeballs and on calves? Using on your baby?!? Yeah… no. And also for the ones where I could use it - can I not use like regular mouthwash for that?
Chux is also an Australian brand of cleaning wipes, which is probably what they were referring to! We don't have a whole lot of pyramid schemes here but I know we have Modere. An acquaintance of mine who is an athlete is "sponsored" by them and always advertises them on social media haha

Wow never thought of it that way. If you've never worked a salaried job, you wouldn't know that PTO and other benefits are normal
@@scarlettk7266 not only salaried jobs get vacation and sick paid days. Plenty of hourly employees get paid days off too
Yup. I worked for a grocery store for years and we got PTO and vacation, plus very good insurance benefits. And I got paid for time spent working as well.
It’s easier to shit on a strawman than it is to actually compare and defend the industry honestly.
Cult leaders do the same exact thing. Sometimes they even chant their repetitive mantra. JL knows exactly what she is doing.
Spot on! And swipe and swipe and swipe... I yelled at my device like OK we get it!
God I hate her so much for this!! Its so annoying how other huns do the same, LIKE STOP REPEATING WE GET IT
I WAS JUST ABOUT TO COMMENT THIS
She posts so many things that she can't edit.
I've been watching too much Anti-MLM content. You said you're giving away free merch and my first thought was "I'll have to pay taxes on it."
OMG 🤣 no taxes here! Truly free!
Bahahaha
So basically you can use that mouthwash for any purpose you might use alcohol, which is probably mostly what it's made of. Rubbing alcohol costs like $2, if you have urgent calf-umbilical-cord needs.
Oh my gosh this made me lol "urgent calf-umbilical-cord needs.'
How on earth did cows manage their umbilical cords up until now

The same thing that you ingest for tummy aches or use like you would bleach. Could that woman be sued if someone was blinded? Was there a disclaimer, does there need to be one? I'd love to know what a lawyer says.
Did she not read the label of every mouthwash which says " DO NOT SWALLOW" LOL
They should not be making these claims. And this MLM company should be looking into these people making these claims as well.
That substance sounds too aggressive for contacts alone, without getting into the eyes, like 😅
I had to soak mine (hard ones) in a harsh substance every once in a while but having them in something like this all the time????
How did I not know my I was vibrating at the wrong energy frequencies!?!? Clearly, now all my problems will be solved just as soon as I can vibrate correctly. So glad she cleared that up for me!! 😳

It’s crazy that the lady saying taking care of her son didn’t impact her paycheck is comparing it to a “normal” job yet forgetting that a “normal” job has insurance and sick leave.
They really said Use our MLM mouthwash to spray on your measles? MEASLES? The deadly medical emergency? 🤦🏻♀️
They need rules on what they can call themselves. Like how beach body’s people are “coaches”
Yes! This would be a great change. Like they must all either be called distributors or independent contractors and that is it.

The eyeshadow, the sundress, the beautiful sleek hair Monat reps dream of, AND the powerful commentary - she is in fact the whole package ❤️
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great video! The mouthwash thing makes me think of the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding lol. And the dad basically used/suggested Windex for everything 😂.
😂
I thought the same thing!

I just can't with that woman giving people "advice" based on a scam created by a criminal
The list of mouthwash uses feels like an SNL skit...but sadly it's real 😅
It's like she managed to find Listerine's trial marketing list for when they were first moving from general household cleaner to mouthwash.
"Ugh I cant shake these last 5lbs!"
"Thats cuz youre not vibrating correctly babe"

She used her DEAD DOG to get sales?! One of my dogs had a major health scare last week and all I could do was cry and worry, and my actual job gave me the day off paid to try to relax and to figure out his issue. How absolutely terrible of her
(My dog is ok now thankfully)
I have no idea why but the ending “your voice needs to be heard” got me kinda emotional. I think Hannah has a beautiful way of making all of her viewers feel individually important. ❤️
I can't explain why, but I found "Cleans whiteboards beautifully" the most hilarious! Doesn't WATER do just as well... Or virtually ANY liquid? On what planet would someone use an overpriced pharmaceutical to wash a whiteboard?? 😂😂😂
If an eraser doesn’t remove dried on whiteboard pen, I spray it slightly with my £5 room spray and it comes right off with some tissue!
Honestly as a teacher-no lol. White boards can be a real pain to clean, especially if they are older. Still not worth it fund a pyramid scheme lol
I, too, can take a week off and not have my income affected by it. It's called Paid Time Off.
Finally we can be heard!! I’m so grateful for this community. You’ve made me feel less ashamed of almost being roped into an MLM, myself. Please mention the FTC comment in every video!! We need all the voices we can get towards this! These videos also never feel long enough!

Paused to write down on a sticky note for myself later, “Consider the source, remember the motive” Great advice 😊
The list in Clip 9 was so absurd I was waiting for them to claim it could cleanse your soul of sin to sneak past St. Peter at the pearly gates.
As an author, I can confirm my income is mostly passive and I haven't had to recruit a single person 😊
New hair growth is happening all the time. If we didn’t have new hair growth all the time, we would be bald within a few weeks.
So.. Monat huns lol
A hairstylist said, new hair has a point at the end. Breakage looks blunt. Split ends look frayed.
Dude, my cats are like my children. I cry at least once every couple of weeks because I remember that I will outlive them and I get sad. When they pass away, you will not catch me on social media for WEEKS. That’s despicable.
I've had a total of 8 teeth removed, and I was told NOT to use mouthwash as a rinse. Terrible advice here!
I don’t know how I stumbled across your channel but I’m obsessed . The only time I’ve dealt with mlm is when I “won”
A “facial” from Mary Kay .

Not quite the point, but thank you for the disordered eating trigger warning and how you genuinely always include warnings for different things 💖
I find it super annoying when Jessie Lee repeats the same word SO much. Three times? No, why not 25 times??
The “chux” mention in the ridiculous mouthwash list is not an incontinence pad, but a household cleaning cloth I believe. I’m Australian, and Chux is the market leader in a particular type of cheap cleaning cloth, we use the word generically for any brand of that kind of cloth. Please still do not clean your baby with mouthwash on a cloth, though!
Thank you for the clarification! Perhaps it means something different in the US
Okay, wasn't going to comment again, but oh my gosh!!
Exactly I worked at Wal-Mart, the hell of retail, and got PTO.
Licensed mental health therapist here. These MLMs that claim to treat mental health disgust me. Their claims are dangerous and I’ve seen real people suffer due to them. Thank you for outing this.
Its funny to me how every MLM company somehow has ‘the #1 products in the world’ 🤦🏻♀️
yeah & companies like Oribe, Alterna, & Redken are in the background screaming, "we're #2!"
Me, laughing because these mouthwash "ways to use" are 99% because there is alcohol in mouthwash and you could just buy some first aid alcohol for $1 at the store lol. I've never heard of that company before lol
Omg putting mouthwash in your contact lenses sounds like one of the fastest ways to blind oneself, this made me shiver, how uncomfortable
I can not believe Bosslee said the quiet part THAT out loud…. Willing to bet she got reprimanded for that one 😂
Mouthwash: *exists*
MLM huns: get the newborn calves

Jessie Lee's downline watching her say the scheme is no different and they NEED to be more like the Tinder Swindler: "...are we the baddies?"
Chux in Australia are like a blue and white rag on a roll perforated. They can be thrown out or washed and reused. Used for cleaning.
As a contact lenses user, the use in eyes of mouthwash terrifies me.
Girl, I’m choking on my freaking yogurt 😂😂 comparing MLM’s to the Tinder scammer is just too perfect.
Yassss! In desperate need of this tonight while I work on a deadline. You are bringing ALL the gold right now Hannah!
I was just saying in my mind... I think I reached the end of UA-cam, there's nothing to watch! LOL perfect timing Hannah 🤗
I often feel like that too haha. I spend way too much time on here 🤣

I always know if a product is a scam if it claims to basically be a cure all. Nothing has that power.
Yes!! My mom swore by that stupid Skin so Soft crap. She was so sure, she wouldn’t buy regular bug spray. We lived right by a large woods!! 🙄

Your delivery of the 100 list was fantastic. Thank you for the laughs!
"Spray into eyeball" I almost spit out my drink when you said that😆
Still watching, but the waiting period is critical and just forcing them (Stampin'Up!) to state they are an MLM and explain that would be huge!

Ok … off to watch the rest of the video!
Are they just saying their mouthwash is full of alcohol? Because most of these actions you do with cleaning alcohol.
Chux is also an Australian brand of cleaning wipes, which is probably what they were referring to! We don't have a whole lot of pyramid schemes here but I know we have Modere. An acquaintance of mine who is an athlete is "sponsored" by them and always advertises them on social media haha
