Nicely done, after really looking at all options this Gotoh is for me. I can see the quality. Screwing down the springs us another nice touch to help reduce unwanted noises.

Things I do not like about the GT1996 is the 5mm arm and the huge studs, which make it too close to a humbucker rout. I play an Axis same trem but 6mm arm. With proprietary fine tuners and studs.
do the saddles have a hole with a small metal cover on the bottom, or are they like the post-2021 floyds and the bottom of the saddle has no hole?
Ordering online can be tricky. I got mine (not in Australia) from a supplier but it offered no options other than the finish. The usual chrome, black or Gold. So it had a 40mm block and no lock nut. Even if it did come with a nut you have to specify the nut size. Fortunately i had one already. Some of the parts suppliers really make it difficult considering how expensive it all is, yet we all want to upgrade if we have crappy bridges. 🙃🍻
Ah yes, there are many different options available aside from colour, so it's important to check which one is being sold. Options include 4 different types of locking nuts and sustain block lengths of 40mm, 36mm and 33mm.
I have owned a few of these and they are great for the money as an upgrade. But I have never seen the posts installed. Its a weird size. Luckily the unit works just fine with standard FR posts.
Good feedback thanks! Yeah the post thread only matches some import guitars so the posts won't fit the thread original Floyd Rose trems. An option is to replace the post inserts/anchors too but it's a bigger job to pull out these and replace them. Glad to hear you can just leave the original posts.
I installed a GE1996T on a used LTD M-350 that had no bridge but did have posts. It was the terrible design with inserts as part of a plate that screws into the body. I had to use the higher quality Gotoh inserts and studs considering. For the Gotoh inserts, a 27\64" or 10.7mm drill bit for the inserts.
Why do they make only one side with the U shape for the post, and the other side is a straight edge when Floyds have the U shape for both posts? Wouldn't the two U shaped units hold to the posts better?
We don't know for sure, but our theory is that it allows a little bit of range in the post spacing, rather than just fitting one spacing. The one U-shaped cut is enough to hold it from moving side to side.
Could anyone confirm if new gotoh brigde floats perfect intune with wild flutter effect with new german post? Thanks.

Will this replace an Edge Pro II ?
We have had a few customers ask this. They have purchased the tremolo and not returned it, so we assumed it fits, though we can't be 100% certain. The posts may not be the same thread as there are a few different thread sizes used on these type of tremolos, in which case you'd need to replace the anchors, or buy different posts, or keep the original posts.

Will these fit perfectly into Jackson JS32 dinky archtop as a replacement?
Sorry we couldn't say for sure. Looking at photos of the model guitar it looks like it will fit, but you never know unless it's an exact replacement.
im wanting to do the same with the same jackson. from what info I could find its only the posts that are a different size
