  • In this video we take a look at the new FLEXVOLT 9” 60V Cut-Off Saw by DEWALT. We're slowly transitioning all of our power tools over to electric so this is a tool we definitely needed to check out. If you have any thoughts or questions please let us know in the comments!

    Been cutting bricks and blocks with this saw since i bought it 2 months ago and no way am i interested in cutting with a 9 inch angle grinder anymore. No more dust with the water intake, less noise, and powerful enough to enjoy using it and get the job done, also cuts a bit deeper than the angle grinder. Very impressed with it.

    Hello! I would like to know if I can use this masonry disc on a large 9¨ common grinder? Same arbor, same rpm..., I don't know why they say on label that is special for this cut-off saw...?

    Can it run on the DeWalt 54v 12 . 0 amp batteries? Also the steel cutting blade is it the same as the blades used on 9 inch grinders ,say ,the bore diameter must be the same as the grinders.

      We use the batteries that come with it, I wouldn’t think another would fit. This 9” was first of its kind at the time so dewalt made a larger battery for it. Now Milwaukee is making one that uses their 12amp.

      Mike im assuming you are from outside the us. As far as i know the 54v and 60v max batteries are the same. Due to marketing in the us they use 20v and 60v max as being max volt output but their normal operating volts are 18v and 54v respectively. The 54v 12 amp should work just fine

      The 6ah, 9ah and 12ah flexvolt batteries are compatible with the entire range of DeWalt flexvolt tools. I'm considering buying this saw as I have some flexvolt tools and batteries. One would probably need at least two 12ah batteries with this saw to make it a viable option.

      If the batteries stay charged, It’s a nice tool. Super light, that’s why we like it. You have to try it because what we use it for is not as time sensitive as what you guys would use it for.

      @@mitchellacoustical3119 I’m on a volunteer service where it wouldn’t get used a lot but when the stihl saw doesn’t wanna start this would come in handy for quick needed cuts, we also have a charging station on our engine

    ... way do you need a sparkling saw ? You can do that with a nibbler cutter, they are on battery this days.

    Bigger cut off saw with dual battery 🤔

      So then it becomes a weight issue. I have a feeling that's why it wasn't bulked up to a 14" blade.

    It’s got its positives about it but if you really want to cut brick and concrete quick you’re going to get a gas powered saw

    • @mitchellacoustical3119
      @mitchellacoustical3119  5 років тому +1

      James Taylor that’s understandable. We use it for steel studs. Just something to start thinking about with having to mix gas, change plugs, pull cord breaks, for me and my guys it’s just easier to pop in a battery and go!👍

    • @mitchellacoustical3119
      @mitchellacoustical3119  5 років тому

      James Taylor I’ve been wanting to try that one out too! They’re all gonna have their limits, but the batteries will eventually get good enough to be on par. Most of these are just version 1’s for these companies.

      I saw another video on concrete. Basically it's not good for all day cutting and it has a load safety switch built in so you don't burn out the tool. Overall, it's simply amazing!

  • @tired_brickmason34

    These things burn through batteries to the point where you'd be better off getting a gas saw. Or buying an electic saw if you already have a generator.

    • @mitchellacoustical3119
      @mitchellacoustical3119  3 роки тому

      Not if you don’t want to smell or mix gas, or you don’t want cords. We’d just buy more batts. Simple

      @@mitchellacoustical3119 lol... this dude. You're justifying buying a bettery that last 20 minutes and that cost $200, over a 25ft cord and pouring a gallon of gas into a generator? Which, by the way, can remain outside and no fumes and noise.

      @@mitchellacoustical3119 and chances are, if there is a place to charge your batteries at the job site, then you have a place to plug up your saw. 👌
