In my school, everyday during the moring assembly one guy needed to say the school pledge and the entire school needed to repeat the pledge after him. I was that guy for 2 consecutive years. This simple act made me overcome my stage fear for the rest of my life. Just showing up everyday, even if I repeated the same thing, helped me alot.
As someone who has struggled with public speaking I found this video to be very insightful. When I was in college I fumbled my words a lot during presentations, but all of those self-perceived embarrassments eventually built me up. As you mentioned, the “so what” principle can help us realize that the worst-case-scenario isn’t as bad as we make it out to be. The people in the audience have also experienced nervousness before public speaking, so channel that fear into an empowered version of yourself. Overall, I’ve learned that tuning in to your authentic self-expression, embodying your message, and humanizing your audience can ease up the tension and create a flow in your presentation.
I've found harnessing authenticity and tuning into your inner voice to be the most impactful tool in public speaking - owning who you are and everything about you has led to feeling comfortable in the skin to the extent that you don't view others as "threats" anymore. The people at the top of any field have a good pulse on their own voice and do not let other people's noise come in the way of their clarity of thoughts and flow.
Great video Sahil! Kobi said in one of his interviews that everyone is in awe of his skills, but what they don't realize is what appears to be an effortless shot actually is a result of 1000s and 1000s of reps he has done in his practice court.
Love this! To add to your last point about playing a song, one question I ask myself is “what do I hope or what I strive for so that the audience feels x,Y,z after my talk?”. For example, “curious and relaxed”. On a spiritual plane, I imagine that there is only one self in the room. We are all connected. So the self in me is speaking to the self in all, makes it easy to create an environment of love ❤️
Ohh, this is something for me :-) I have been invited to my first public speaking event, and this is new ground for me. I like to present to the camera where I have some control of the output
Sahil my guy it's only a matter of time before you blow up on youtube. Glad you decided to choose to do this. I've been following you for a couple years now from Twitter threads to watching your stories every single day. UA-cam content was meant to happen for you. Best of luck!
Not sure I agree with the walking back and forth to express or emphasize your words. The video shows you pacing which can be distracting. I believe walking or moving intentionally is better. This might be too much
As a public speaking coach myself, I can attest to every single thing he shared in this video being phenomenal advice. Take notes
Well wow, this is awesome to hear!

Nice tips Sahil, if you do a video about your specific Character inventions that would be a hit!! ❤

having so much fun experimenting with a new platform and trying to provide value!
Very surprised that you have such a tiny UA-cam sub count. 2024 is the year it's going to explode! So many valuable nuggets in here.
I just started posting real videos 3 weeks ago. Excited to see where it goes!
@@Sahil_Bloom no doubt it's going to be a success.

Very good tips Sahil
Damn, this is good. My 23-year-old self would’ve killed to have this information prior to my first public speaking appearance.
Honestly, as recently as two years ago I was brutally nervous public speaker. Helped me a lot.
Great content.
Just trying to provide value!
Genius
Lego blocks! Love that.
Really makes a big difference
@@Sahil_Bloom Will certainly try that technique when writing future speeches, thank you for sharing.
