@@dgayle2348 Also agree with this, I'm a fan of music but it's taken me a while to get into DOOM. Once you get used to his style it's so much better than on the first listen.
I once met Anthony Fantano. It was a brief yet strange encounter, it was at Vidcon and he had just finished signing someone's plastic badge, you know the ones given upon entry. So he turned around and looked at me, he did not look me in the eyes, he looked at some random point in my forehead occasionally shifting his glance to my eyes for a milisecond. His stare was piercing, he had a lust for blood in his eyes, despite the fact that he only looked me in the eyes for extremely brief periods of time i became extremely uncomfortable, i was trying to come up with a good excuse in order to get the hell out of there but as soon as i was going to open my mouth i simply heard him utter something under his breath. I could not make out what it was but he kept repeating it in a monotone fashion, now staring me directly in the eyes, not breaking eye contact. I managed to make it out the second time; ''Weak 2''. He kept compulsively saying it, now slowly walking towards me with his arms tensed as if he was going to assault me. I decide to attempt to reason with him. ''W-what are you doing?'' He grabs me by the throat and pins me up against a wall, my air supply being cut off by his muscular grip. I attempt to stop this physical assault, i kick and struggle and try to scream but nothing comes out. The Vidcon staff look on with the defeated weariness of a father whose only son's favourite toy has just been swept away during a day at the beach; the sounds of his child's heartbroken wails are too much for his heart to bare, yet he knows also that to swim after the toy would ultimately be a fool's errand. It belongs to the sea now. At one point from my dazed vision i see one of the Vidcon staff members violently holding back another who's trying to run to help me, i can not hear them but i can tell by the look in his eyes that he's saying ''Do not try to be a hero, it is too late for him.'' Suddenly i see Fantano's mouth violently snap open like an alligator, he begins to speak, he begins by giving a detailed biography of his encounter with me saying ''Now, this is the fifth minute i've spent with this little peasant weakling and i've gotta say this one was a real disapointment, not that i came to expect more from these not Anthony Fantano people'' he goes on, the fervour getting more and more intense, his voice raising in volume with every sentence, at this point his voice is a bat-like shriek far from Anthony Fantano and for that matter any human beings voice. I am stunned by the fact that he goes on for aproximately 15 minutes, the average length of one of his music reviews, going detail by detail into why he wants me dead, mentioning dead relatives and their exact dates of death, this is where i realised Anthony Fantano was not of this world, i sob bitter tears knowing that i'm about to be just another item checked off his shopping list, as my vision starts to darken and my senses start to deplete one by one i can very vaguely hear him give his final rating on me and after that i hear him say ''Tran-'' and that was where it all went dark and my life came to an end. A real jokester that Anthony Fantano, ha!

There wasn’t musician or fan of music who heard doom and said “ nah this isn’t for me” dude straight up made music nobody really disliked
I'd disagree. He has one of the most difficult listening curves in hip hop. But when you do become a fan it's amazing how genius he is
@@dgayle2348 that’s why I said musician or fan of music, anyone already a fan of rap especially any fan of 90s New York rap you couldn’t not like his shit
@@Jakem763 : eh idk...you think fans of mobb deep, the lox, nore, epmd etc. are receptive to DOOM? In my experience it's definitely too "weird" for a lot of them. i think generally you'd need to be a fan of tribe, blackstar, de la, heiro etc. to just immediately appreciate DOOM.
@@dgayle2348 Also agree with this, I'm a fan of music but it's taken me a while to get into DOOM. Once you get used to his style it's so much better than on the first listen.
@@lukemossbarnett336 : I know I definitely did not enjoy him on first listen. But that's the treat in his artistry though

''W-what are you doing?''
He grabs me by the throat and pins me up against a wall, my air supply being cut off by his muscular grip.
At one point from my dazed vision i see one of the Vidcon staff members violently holding back another who's trying to run to help me, i can not hear them but i can tell by the look in his eyes that he's saying ''Do not try to be a hero, it is too late for him.''
Suddenly i see Fantano's mouth violently snap open like an alligator, he begins to speak, he begins by giving a detailed biography of his encounter with me saying ''Now, this is the fifth minute i've spent with this little peasant weakling and i've gotta say this one was a real disapointment, not that i came to expect more from these not Anthony Fantano people'' he goes on, the fervour getting more and more intense, his voice raising in volume with every sentence, at this point his voice is a bat-like shriek far from Anthony Fantano and for that matter any human beings voice.
That was like fifty shades of grey meets stranger things.
He gave me a decent to strong 5 😤😫😎

Doom is the underground GOAT
Nah
DOOM is just the GOAT
+Rik Riggs idolatry consumed much? Hes just a dude lmao
Mosixman it's not a shrine. Daniel is just a dude. DOOM is a villain that should be respected and feared. I'm a hardcore fan. Not a cult like fanatic thats praying to Doom while burning candles and insense at a shrine. No offense taken but idolatry isnt the word to use for me being a mf Doom nerd.
Mosixman also what's the difference between a giant movie collection, game collection and any other type of collection? The form of media. I do not worship Doom. He just happens to make my favorite music and I have other collections of bands and rappers etc. Mf Doom just happens to have quality merch worth having it's own little corner.
