      As we learn from other operators, autonomy can be achieved with restrictions. Not every scenario has to be covered by tech. Where risk exists, restriction could manage. For instance.....reach destination whilst avoiding high risk lefts or other structures. Not sure that will be required but it is equivalent say to WAYMO.

    Thanks once again for the information. I bought a M3LR earlier this year after waiting almost a year for it to hit the market and did NOT get the $7500 tax incentive. Now that it qualifies and the RWD LR is $5000 cheaper, that's $12,500 less for a car that arguably is better. AWD is not a priority for me but range is. I have 3000 miles on my LR-AWD and am actually considering trading it in to get the LR-RWD. It doesn't make sense right now considering all the taxes and fees I had to pay, unless I could sell for close to the original purchase price (not likely). I'll be watching later this quarter to see if there are any in inventory and if Tesla might offer some deals. I love the new M3 but the nearly $13,000 I missed out on is hard to swallow.

    Personally, I’d rather a LFP battery which is the standard RWD model where as the long range changes to a NMC battery. Advantages of an LFP is that you can fully use the battery and they’re more hardy over a the lifetime of the vehicle. NMC should only be charged to 80% meaning the 363miles become 290 vrs the fully charged LFP at 272miles, not much in it at that point.

      NO!!! Does NOT come with the premium sound like the LR AWD and or Performance. Ik cause I not only took a demo drive in it, but also took order! Was a bit disappointed when told, but with the 360 degree acoustic set up, was definitely satisfied with the sound! For me, living in cold winters, range is everything. Also, no LFP, it comes with the 2170 battery pack(incase whomever reads this is curious).✌️

    I understand Tesla is focused on the US market, and why there are great incentives there.
    It’s just so frustrating that similar levels in incentives don’t exist in neighbouring countries, (due to politicians being tied to ICE interests), so between that and the difference in currency values, Model 3 &Y remain unaffordable for many of us.

  • @andders2477

    Saw the new Ford Capri at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Thursday 11th July. It looks better in the flesh and the front and rear looks nothing like a Polestar 2 (yes the side profile is very similar). Also saw the Tesla Cybertruck for the first time at Goodwood FOS. Shame Tesla didn't have a proper stand like last year. They only had 2 vehicles on display - the Model 3 performance refresh in red in the 'Electric Avenue' area and a hard to find Cybertruck in a different location. BYD had a big stand as did Polestar, and other Chinese brands. As a TSLA shareholder it was very disappointing not to see a proper Tesla stand like last year. The Renault 5 EV and Alpine A290 EVs were the star of the show for me. Great also to see Rimac and McMurtry plus loads of other EVs there.

      @@bobbygilmore2076 Okay, but a lot of us don't even charge to 80% nightly. I'd probably charge to 50% nightly, which works out to having about 180 miles of range for my daily drives. Which is more than enough daily. Then, when I take a road trip, I'd have it finish charging to 100% that morning and I take off with 363 miles of range. Also, what about years down the line when both vehicles lose 15%? That would make the (272) range go down to less than 235. Road trips with that kind of range doesn't sound appealing. Whereas, with 15% loss on 363, you would still have close to 320.

    Is the new variant actually a long range though? The weight isn't much different so the energy required is relatively the same. If you're only charging to 80% because you don't want to damage your batteries, it's less than the standard -and the standard is virtually equal to the long range charged to 80%... I think you save money up front to buy the new variant but you lose overall because the SRP has longer lasting batteries in terms of lifetime. Demand? Bro, the Long Range isn't available for lease because the tax credit would make that lease cheaper than the RWD lease.
    That's all. Tesla has to decide how competitive they want to get. If the market winds are still unfavorable in a couple months, you can bet they'll replace the RWD lease with the Long Range lease for the same monthly cost. That would be an ideal time to grab one because there's basically a coin-flip chance of the tax credit disappearing after the election.
    And I'll probably pick one up simply because it's such an insanely easy cash-flow proposition. My old Model X is SO hungry in terms of watt-hours consumed per mile. New Model 3 is nicer/quieter/better for so little money.

    2:06 anyone who thought there would be ANYTHING on august 8 is silly. he has NEVER been right about it. im not disappointed because i never believed in the first place.?
    honestly i think he chose aug 8 because its 8/8 and its an interesting date to have two of the same number. 9/8 or 10/8 doesnt seem as fun so he didnt say it

    This Self Driving fad is getting old. Tesla needs to work on battery performance, quality control and enhancement, rather than silly self driving.

      I agree; why offer a performance vehicle, then isolate the driver from the performance and handling with …keep hands on wheel, eyes looking forward , watch car drive. Odd expectation.

      FSD is the main reason I’m buying a Tesla. Self driving is incredibly important to the progression of vehicles.
      Tesla is also doing exceptionally well at pushing battery tech. I don’t see any one area suffering at the moment.

    Instead of getting all the M3s eligible for the tax credit, they come up with a cheaper trim that's eligible, but it's still not under $35K OTD. Get it together, Tesla.

    I checked and Tesla shows the newer rear wheel driver long range at $29,990. But is that price with or without the $7500 credit. I purchased the rear wheel drive @ 38K, with tax and licensing in CA it came to 48K. I am not at all happy about that!!!!!!!! Tesla screwed me with this new long range rear wheel. I would have purchased that one instead. That is real shitty of them to do this to people.

  • @ElMistroFeroz
    @ElMistroFeroz Місяць тому +2

    Funny he said "Tesla has issues communicating specs to customers" and in the next sentence he mentioned the new RWD Long Range can go 363 miles. The long range RWD doesn't have an LFP battery. This means the 363 range is actually 290.4, because you'd be charging it to 80%. Essentially the so called "Long Range" is just 18 miles more than the standard range.

    • @FinalStooge
      @FinalStooge 26 днів тому

      That's a blatant lie.
      You can charge it to 100% all you want. Just like you can open dev tools on your phone and charge it to 100%. Both will cause the battery life to degrade faster.
      The tesla will still be drivable even with much less than the 200mi, and most drives are less than 100mi. If a road trip worries you, then iirc all superchargers are within 150mi of one another.

    i think that China using Tesla's as government vehicles is a smart move. Slowly they will negotiate to allow acceptance of their chinese EV's without any tariffs in the future. When you look at the inflation in price of legacy automakers, eventually North America and Europe will bend to public pressure. When i was a kid, my parents had a can opener made in England.
