How the hell does this man have 12 subscribers, this seems like legit quality content, I love punchout and the content, keep it up 🙏 (Also your friends reaction to the naked rom hack killed me 💀)
It’s not a random gimmick. The game shows someone in the audience that flash led to tell you when to punch or attack. These punches are stun blows. The stun blows gets you stars. That why Super Punchout knockdown times is wild fast. From stun hits. You can knockdown the Bear Hugger in 15 secs.
I've heard that a lot of people say this won't come back because of the stereotypical characters, but I think that the game does a good job in making its characters not seem like mean-spirited jabs to different cultures. I hope it returns some day!
In my opinion, the Arcade is like, WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Easier than NES version, in fact, The NES is the hardest of the punch out series. You just have to play very differently in the Arcade version, After bull, you punch wait them to counter, then dodge, boom, Every fight is Easy, even sandman succumbs to this trick. For that reason every fight in the Og arcade is pretty easy. Same goes for the Super Arcade. The reaction time is very doable, don't counter jabs, waits for hooks and uppers, then counter, then you win. Also, the Arcade is much faster paced than NES a Wii, 3 downs and you done or less if you did very good. You can beat every boxer in less than a min so you can beat the game in 6 minutes. Perfect for the arcade. Second, Don 2's trick is like Don1 except its Left left right not left right left right. Only when he taunts tho. Third: SPO improves on the arcade while keeping the style, aka its much faster paced, since theres no mid round breaks and everyone can be beaten in 15 seconds. Counters rewards long stuns and damage instead of stars. So while its in a different style, its not really an improvement or Downgrade. Just a side thing. I think it deserves to be recognized as a fun side game. Fourth: The coaches of theirs shouting instructions doesn't really need to be read, everything they shout is conveyed with the boxers body language, like Macho, even with 3 exercise programs, all three have different startups so you don't need to look away. I think its just easier for some people to understand. Fifth: Don Wii does have a infinite, in both Contender and TD, if you finish the stun with a left hook then when he comes back, you throw a right jab then its an infinite, works for vice versa. For Don TD its more complicated but basically, if you finish the stun limit with a left hook then you left jab then right hook then right jab, repeat. Will not work in an interrupt if its not a star opportunity. Overall pretty good video, I have many opinions I disagree with you but, yeah it was still pretty good.

This needs more attention
Wow! Not bad.
The Punch out arcade games were my favorite as a kid!! At that time the characters were the largest on screen.
Title Denfense Joe... that awkward timing messed me up as well. Time for a new one for switch
don flamenco still has the infinite combo in the wii punch out.
Also, you should look into the scratch punch out community a bit more. There is some really cool ones. (cough cough Master Engine cough cough)

Also about the scratch remix there’s a much better version called the Punchout TDR MASTER ENGINE
