    Even if this is scripted, I found it quite heart breaking when Julia cried at the end and earlier when she said she only felt safe at church and home. I think bullies don't often realise the effect they have.

    Aside from all the comments hating on the young girl am I the only one thats noticed that Alissa is like SUPER nice. Like REALLY REALLY nice. Like I thought she'd have a really fierce attitude but she is like the nicest metal singer I've seen... Actually probably nicer than some of you down in the comments... :/

      I met her in 2019. And she is the nicest girl. And very very attractive. I never thought at 20 I would have met her. And 2 years later I asked if she remembered me and she actually did lol! All of arch enemy was super nice. One of my favorite bands ever.

    She should start singing/screaming because she enjoys it and enjoys the genre, not so she can get over cyberbullying. She's in it for the wrong reasons.

    I don't even listen to Arch Enemy, I'm not a fan of screamo, but Alyssa is such a beautiful person inside, and it's so cool to see a teenager wants to follow an alternate path in life, and to learn to love herself. I can definitely identify with that. In highschool I was the girl that loved both musical theater AND rock, so I didn't fit in any stupid group, and some assholes made my life miserable. But I was also lucky enough to find people and circumstances that helped me understand it's OK to be yourself, and that I had to fight for what I wanted. So I'm looking forward to watching this whole episode.

    "Metal screaming" tends to refer to the high vocal notes sung in the 5th octave or higher. Rob Halford of Judas Priest is a perfect example of this, as well as Eric Adams and many other power metal singers. The "screaming" in this video is actually called metalcore vocal fry growling. Julia.... please stop saying this is "metal screaming" this type of vocals originated with hardcore punk.
    I cry for the future of metal.

    • @nandy9285
      @nandy9285 10 років тому

      This vocal style is definitely used in metal outside of metalcore but like you said, metal screaming brings Priest to mind first.

    • @jesperandersson2966
      @jesperandersson2966 10 років тому

      nandy9285 Yeah metalcore growling for me seems to be a hardcore kid trying to death growl, but just cant quite get the depth, Metal screaming is definitely Priest and Manowar vocals. Metalcore 'screaming' is failed death growling. in my opinion anyway.

    • @nandy9285
      @nandy9285 10 років тому

      I used to think that too but there have been a few core vocalist who are exceptions (emphasis on "a few")

    • @skyyhyy
      @skyyhyy 10 років тому

      Im a gore grind vocalist and i still think that those vocals are still death metal screaming

    • @jesperandersson2966
      @jesperandersson2966 10 років тому

      skyyhyy4200 metalcore/hardcore 'screaming' is basically a failed, lighter attempt at a death growl. as i said, hardcore growls sound like a teenager trying to sing cannibal corpse. And as i also said, 'metal screaming' has always referred to high octave vocals like that from Rob Halford or Eric Adams.
