Don't worry dear narrator, I will win an another Suppiluliuma campaign for you.
Love the regular updates, and where the game is heading now. Keep up the good work, i hope this game will grow the way warhammer has grown but stays as much historically accurate as possible. i really hope the same multiplayer options become available with time that are in warhammer now.
ALL GOOD STUFF HERE
Nice, keep up the good works. The game is nice, i hope for more content, even if the game has failed his launch.
Only at the heavy cost of your wallet, my poor sweet summer child your first rodeo?
@@maartent9697 I live through the initial release of Medieval II, before Kingdoms do the fixes and, oh god, Rome II release.
For now, i pay Pharaoh 25€ and i already spent 55 hours, and at least 30 to 50 hours are coming so i'm up to give it more of my wallet.
Look foward to picking this up!!!
that's good
In other news both shogun games are good
Good 'ol Ra.
With regards to the chariots, good to see charging has been "buffed". However for the Egyptian chariots, they where never built or used much for charging. They where used as mobile missile platforms mostly ( and where very much a status symbol ), but in the game they underperform as such, making it not cost effective. I think egyptian chariots should output more ranged damage and have a tad more influence on the enemies morale. but love the rework! well done!
ps: i noticed a complete lack of normal cavalry in the game, i am not sure if intentional but i know that the sea-peoples probably did field cavalry and it might be part of why they where so effective, cavalry is what made the chariot become obsolete over time.
There were no cavalry at this age - it was used in very limited scope, mostly as a scout units. Bronze Age collapse period was several centuries before age of cavalry, proliferated by Iranian nomads (Medes, Cimmerians, Scythians etc.) and then adopted by Assyrian imperial army.
Do you have any source for Sea People using cavalry? Because since a lot of Sea People were basically Greeks and regular Greeks didn't have cavalry that doesn't seem plausible. Also transporting a large number of horses on relatively small ships doesn't seem likely either. The first use of proper cavalry in warfare as far as I know is a few hundred years later. In the Late Bronze Age it wasn't used, that's why the game doesn't have cavalry.
Yea the stirrup which enabled effective cavalry wasn't invented for another 1000 years. 1500 years if you think of the modern solid stirrup.
The Sea Peoples fought mostly as infantry, for all we know. There is very little information on them, but it is highly unlikely that they fielded cavalry at all. In any case, it took many centuries past the Bronze Age collapse for mounted cavalry to completely make chariotry obsolete; in fact, they were often used in conjunction for centuries during the Iron Age.
As for your point regarding Egyptian light chariots, I agree, more should be done to make the different types of chariots more distinguished, therefore fulfilling different roles in combat. As it currently stands, there is very little practical difference between light, medium and heavy chariotry within the game's balance. Light chariots should have their charging potential greatly reduced and their potential ranged damage proportionally increased.
Sea people= Vikings
I haven't purchased this game because I felt it was lacking content, but with this free DLC and with the promise of more additional cultures it is starting to become really tempting. Keep up the good work! With enough polish and additional content this game might yet rise to become a great entry into the Total War series!
It's on Instant Gaming for like 13euros rn. It also has the FLC coming out in 2 days, the code they give on IG also has the preorder skin bonuses 'n' the likes.
Honestly for 40 bucks the game is really good value, probably even without the DLC. I am pretty sure if u get it now u wont regret it.
Druzhina(Дружина) translates like a squad united by friendship. Because of word Друг(friend) and verb Дружить (be friends/ have a friendship). They’re were the closest guardian squad to tsar or knyaz. Usually they are heavily armoured unbreakable cavaliers.
Your “druzhina” is much like Caucasian Ataman.(actual name of your generic lord)
Might be out of the topic but I want a mechabellum like official game mod so that after making some initial decisions I can watch animations and unit models comfortably. In most cases we can't see beauty of units and animations as we are just focussing on micro management. Game must have both battle modes. Even maybe we can explain AI how it must behave considering how AI technologies have advanced. maybe we can have a battle court with different advisors. I believe this is the future of gaming instead of capture point frenzy.
Great update ! Keep em coming 😀
I am very happy you guys are sticking with it and continuing support. Well done!
+
Excellent!!!
Thank you for a great patch!
You should add the hardcore mode which implements the possibility of obtaining bronze only is the player control at least a source of copper and tin, also by trading the different resources.
Fine but when BLOOD!?
Been playing a lot of Pharaoh in lead up to High Tides and it really is nice. The units feel good, there are a whole bunch of them to compare and contrast, the mechanics are rock solid and all tie in well with eachother, and all in all I love the theming of the game in general. Keep pumping out the goodies ya'll!
Ok I'll admit it, I was one of the naysayers of this game, and I own every title from total war. I swore I would never buy this game...Now I am going to buy this game lol!
Is better than most games from 2013 or after
I've been playing Total War since Rome I and this game is worth it.
Same here, as soon they add blood I will be intrigued
its ok, especially on the first playthrough. it also has some serious issues (for instance immortal leaders). The game is relatively bug free. The main issue is fixed in my opinion, which was the steep price and relatively low content and the practise of "shilling", for the current price its very good value, honestly. I've been in Total war since rome 1, and its not half as bad as some influencers want to make u believe, some are overly negative. As for the blood update, its purely cosmetical. Its the least of issues why not to buy this game in my opinion.
are all controls remappable for this game? i tried 3k years ago and i couldn't remap every one of them. it is a must have feature for me.
Nice!
Looking forward to starting a new campaign, i hope they have fixed the troop movement in settlements especially chariots
Nice, good work
PERFECT.
Hell yeah
Add greece babylon and assyria so it's a proper bronze age collapse setting and a real full historical total war. The game isn't too bad it's just a bit small in scope.
Have the option to remove the multiple regions for a province
Gosh I love this game
BRO WE NEED MEDIEVAL 2 , ROME 3 , EMPIRES 2
I want to ask you guys, is troy and pharaoh enemy ai similar?
I hope one day the Ottoman Empire will come and you will do great things with the Janissary Band. Greetings from Turkey, we love all the Total War series.
Avast Ye! Shiver me Timbers!
Just one more thing, I need the blood pack...
Finally, I hope that chariots will be as powerful as they should be from game start! Hittite campaign without devastating charges of their heavy chariots is as bad as Greeks in Rome 2 without hoplites and phalanxes, or Japanese in Shogun without samurai units.
when blood pack?
Tausret !!!!💙💛💙💛
very nice
Very promising, but please make the art background behind the unit cards dynamic, so it doesn't cover my screen when commanding a smaller army than 20... I want to see the battle not a static UI piece covering the great graphics of this game!
game is ALMOST worth the price, keep it up
If I buy now I'll have the free update?
No the free update is extra
Yes, you will have the free update.
Yes it's a free update for everyone who owns or buys later. If you buy the game after this drops you'll still get High Tide.
free update not included, but you can download the update for free
update is free no matter when u get the game.
Nice video! Very helpful. Unfortunately the Total War games really need a new game engine. The same crappy pathfinding issues I already had back in Medieval 2 are still present in Pharaoh.
like what
@@thomasdaywalt7735Not necessarily a pathfinding issue but what about unit collision for example?
Medieval 2 uses the TW Engine 2, not the TW Engine 3 (Warscape) like Pharaoh and all games since Empire.
This is not a "free update", its just a patch..
The "free update" they're talking about is the High Tide update that's adding two new factions for free to the game, not this patch. The patch is just part of that update/released at the same time.
Noted! :)@@lp4514
Keep up the good work!
Give us Medieval 3 Total War😢
Please medieval 3 total war ❤
add blood
Me gusta! poco a poco va mejorando pharaoh y no se esta quedando olvidado! sigan asi!
Lol i wish they had a immortal empires of this game. Combining troy total war and this game.
Noice. Now give us Blood DLC.
GG
add blood dlc
It's Troy wtf!!!!!!!!!
Plenty of haters in the comment section who don't even know this game.
Troy DLC*
Some dumbass UA-camr must have set them off lol
@@garnettkaruna8767You just proved his point, you don't know the game, otherwise you would know it's not just a DLC.
@@garnettkaruna8767 8 factions (now 10) seems pretty big for a dlc wouldn't you think?
@@devinphillips8085Also they already announced a free campaign map expansion that adds new cultures (and a culture usually contains multiple factions), so after that the base game will probably have at least 14-18 factions and a bigger map with more regions than every other main title historical game.
Thrones of Britannia Normans when?
Hopefully absolutely never.
Dumb question, the ToB has been a dead game for more than 5 years now.
No one cares about Thrones of Britania, sorry
Bring on the Chariots!!!
Now onto blood pools and burnt bodies 🔥🔥
Hmmm no family tree
They said they will add a Mortality & Succession update in the future. No idea if that's a family tree, but at least faction leaders can die then and get replaced by other generals, maybe their children.
@@lp4514 yeah like previous total war.. or like three kingdom, even got main character but still they got mortality and can die. It would be more interesting.
Keep up the good work my dudes. Now, gimme some blood. Thanks in advance.
Instead of putting money into development, why not just pay me to say nice things about it?
Here's one for free. I like it's use of multicolor!
Okay cool….but when are we going to hear about the shadows of change booster pack?
Everyone is waiting for it but i cannot understand why you are asking this under a Pharaoh patch video... kinda annoying to be honest.
They said patch 4.2 and SoC updates come in February.
They've already made a statement of when they planned on revealing the new stuff. Stop being impatient.
@@lp4514 they actually said that they would tell us about it in January “so we have ample time to make an informed decision about what they’re doing”…im just holding them accountable for what THEY said
@@draugr121 it’s kinda annoying that they’ve reverted back to the silent treatment after making their apology
It's wonderful see how uncreative ossambly literally dying and sells of paralon (and players online) prove it every day.
You gotta give credit for them trying to fix this. At the new price, it is worth it, unless youre a warhammer rat maybe
We want simultaneous turns in co-op!
Hi Total War!
I realy want to buy and play this game, but I will not untill I know what I am buying. What we need to know is- will there be immoetal empires here, combined with Troy and maybe another one?
If not, I buy on steam this is where I buy games, but I Yes I need to buy this on Epic where Troy is.
Untill I know I will not buy, as It would be juat amazingly bad if it was combined and I had those 2 on seperate platforms
The chances that it will be combined with Troy based on what they already told us are almost zero (they're basically zero realistically). Here's the reasons for it:
- They confirmed multiple times that Pharaoh is a completely historical title (also that they have no plans for a myth mode) and Troy, even in it's "historical" mode, is a myth game because Achilles or Amazons etc. are based solely on mythology. Adding things from Troy would make Pharaoh a myth game and they said it's a historical title.
- They couldn't combine both games since the scaling doesn't match, Troys map is way too big and has way too many settlements, they would have to remove half the settlements for it to work.
- They already announced a free campaign map expansion update for Pharaoh that adds more regions to the map and new cultures, so if Greece and Western Anatolia (the regions of the Troy map) are added to Pharaoh, they will just be part of that free update, with new historical Greek factions. It wouldn't make sense to make it a Immortal Empires with Troy if they can't use half of the map of Troy and can't use almost all of the factions of Troy or any of the myth stuff etc., there just are 3-4 factions/faction leaders that are more or less historical in Troy but the rest is unusable.
So I would say you can safely buy it on Steam, if Greece gets added it will just be part of the free (for everybody without needing Troy) map expansion.
@@lp4514 I also think that there probably will not be a combined map, but from what I have heard all of troy files are in pharaoh. So imo still not impossible.
And as for the game modes, imo they could just add the myth one to Egipt if they combine them. Why not? It would probably sell. OR they could just skip it, and make immortal epires type map hustorical only.
As for the map size, remember that it was tweeked a lot in mortal and imortal empires 2, basically only old world was not changed.
So on one hand i totally get your points, and they are strong points, but on the other... I am still not sure. And I dont want to be screwed over
@@jdurthu4304 They said they will talk more about what the free campaign map expansion looks like after the release of the High Tide update. So then you should get your definitive answer since if Greece and Western Anatolia/new historical Greek and Trojan factions are already included in that free expansion that everybody owning the game gets you would know you don't need to own Troy for anything.
@@lp4514 you are correct, will have to wait
looks good.
Let's hope those AI behavior improvements for battles aren't like the other times you've implemented such things... you know, breaking stuff.
Polish up TROY!
Nah they need to combine this game and troy. Since tbh it's similar
please fix ai cheating and getting resources out of thin air doesnt make interesting gameplay to fight against an enemy whos only challenge is somehow affording a 20 stack in their single city when it takes a whole province for me to make that same amount of troops
Turn down the difficulty
@@czukarpathian6621 in my opinion i feel i shouldnt have to turn down the difficulty from normal for a fair fight, my opinion is ai should only get resources from thin air on higher difficulties as a means to make things more difficult not as a way to make up for a lack of ai intelligence like have made one step in the right direction allowing for the customization but that doesnt excuse the games difficulties still being not correctly balanced
Sweet. But can you get rid of the building slot mechanic and return to pre-Empire settlement mechanics?
Please?
No, there's so much more depth on how to build provinces now.
No thanks
That’s like asking for the hp system to be removed. It would be a good thing but they’re never going to do it
Your score on steam is getting lower and lower, you should reflect on yourselves and making high quality games! Or your sales of new games will fall rapidly!
Maybe someday i will buy this game, but i would prefer a medieval TW. 1 HP was the better concept (at least for historical TW games).
No Total War has ever truly had 1 HP. Old TWs had attacks deal less than 1 damage. The only difference is that things are clearer now.
I agree that’s the biggest problem with post shogun 2 total war
@@resileaf9501what are you yapping about? Medieval 2 has glancing blows that deal fractions of a hit point but that’s it and it’s not even that noticeable. Shogun 1, med 1, Rome, empire, napoleon, shogun 2 still are one hit one kill as it should be. (Yes some things like elephants or generals have had multiple hit points but that’s rare)
@@GodofToast If a glancing blow deals less than 1 HP of damage, then 1 HP is just semantics. You have more than 1 HP, you just can't tell how much exactly it is. And it is *very* noticeable. Highly-armored units can get hit a lot before they start showing damage, especially when they get stunlocked.
In most if not all of these games you've mentionned, it is not one hit one kill, because there is always the possibility that an attack will not deal a whole point of damage due to glancing blows. In Shogun 2 in particular, arrows deal 0.3 or 0.4 damage depending on how strong the bow unit is. The only exceptions are guns starting in Empire, which do automatically kill if they hit, with the caveat that accuracy is not guaranteed so it's not one shot one kill as you don't know if you'll hit at all.
@@resileaf9501 there are no glancing blows in anything I mentioned except medieval 2. Just to make sure I’m not going insane I started a battle between one unit of bow samurai on each side in shogun 2 and immediately 10 kills are inflicted on each side. In Rome 2 and later, that would not happen and the number of kills a missile unit gets would increase as the battle progresses. In shogun 2, it’s actually decreasing as more and more men are killed
Yo ho Yo ho a pirates life for me
Apparently all 300 steam players of this game are in this comment section.
please, when will the game be released in Russian?
Bring back total war online :((
Give free blood and Gore Pack this will be a good thing
Add Mesopotamia and Greece and I buy the game
WE WANT MEDIEVAL !!!!
"the morale system has been reworked" Calling a switch from false to true in a line of code in the morale database a "rework" is peak missleading speach to make it seem as if they did some huge work there.
Such is the extent that CA doesn't accept that healtpools were a terrible idea and 1HP was better, that they now make morale for a whole unit affected by their health on a per entity basis? Why would one guy's nerve start to shake because someone else, somewhere else in the formation, has a bleeding arm?
Bankrupt of any ideas that isn't spreadsheeting. Edit: Also the commitment to ball-and-chaining armies to leaders is so strong, they are sticking with the awful garrison system and dealing with how it sucks by buffing them. Player freedom and choice is not on the menu.
Right
Well when you think about it logically if the guy right beside you got their arm blown off or something of that caliber then it would make sense to be a little affected.
That is one hell of a stretch. Wonder which UA-camr is going around convincing sheep that the clearer HP system is the problem now.
@masonDixonAutistic You're so out of your depth. Pharaoh has forts that serve as transfer points & generals ofc lead the army, your 10 years old rant is moot. 3K did it good, pharaoh is doing it good, go cry about your imaginary unsolved issues somewhere else xD
@@pascalbourelier3463 go buy it more
The fact that they originally wanted to charge for this blows my mind. All this free DLC does is making the game feel 75% complete rather than the released 50% of a full game. Only when they add Anatolia and Greece can this game be considered somewhat complete.
who cares this game?
bro no1 cares
I do care
Fanboy
I do care about this game.
Damn right
Go back to Warhammer. The adults are speaking
Total war pharaoh of moviles
📲
Stop doing this Pharaoh stuff and start producing some good stuff medieval 3 empire LOTRO total war.
Thanks
What problem do you have with their second smaller team doing Pharaoh for the people that enjoy it? That team doing Pharaoh doesn't mean that another team can't at the same time do Medieval. We know their main historical team is currently and has been working on the next big title for a few years now, they just didn't officially announce what that is yet, maybe that's already Medieval 3. Pharaoh isn't delaying or replacing that, it's just an additional title in the meantime for the people that asked for that time period for years.
Dumb opinion, why bother making a game that most of the fanbase have been asking for more than a decade instead of making yet another uninnovative saga cashgrab game?
@@Tomo_mo Is it a failure or a cashgrab ? Omg, those haters can't even know what they are saying
Warhammer? Pls?
There was literally a patch yesterday.
Patch 4.2 and SoC update coming in February and Thrones of Decay in April.
This is just warhammer but without the magic
The best patch for this game is a deletion.
Nope.
Right😂
Best don't buy it
Why don't you want the game to be good.
No !!! I love the game and tausret
its crazy how CA develoepd so many total war games and they still cant get simple things right. I think knowledge management/capture and lessons learned are foreign concepts to CA
The game, just, there is no weight in the combat or archery any longer.
The quality decline is just hidden behind graphics.
Damn it’s almost like nobody cares
Damn it's almost like I just busted all over your face
😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴
Im sure the 2000 player base rly waited for this patch
lol this comment section is so fake
Yo CA i applaud your commitment to developing a DEAD GAME with ZERO ACTIVE PLAYERS ON THE STEAMCHARTS and your obsession with FAKE ACCOUNTS ON UA-cam MAKING LAZY HYPE/DEFENSE COMMENTS but maybe just maybe, focus on the games your player base actually wants and start scrapping this pile of trash yeah?
