I only fit Yuasa batteries as nom but during covid fitted the best I could get. Using the calculations for 12 hour standby 3.2ah is fine on this panel.
Depends on tech sheets from manufacturers, its environmental location and what’s being drawn from it in a power cut. As anNSI company we have to abide by manufacturers guidance but generally it’s 3-5 years depending what my discharge calc says. If it’s a wireless system and police calling I change them every 2 years as I don’t leave anything to chance.
The default code on that panel is customer 1234 and engineer 7890 To get in to engineer mode it would be 0enter7890 from memory but you may have to crash the panel to default it back to factory. Battery would be a 3.2 or 7amp hour. Both fit.
This video makes it look like you dont know what you are doing . Alarms constantly going off. I just put my scantronic into engineer mode when i go into the panel
When carrying out any routine service call there are certain tests you have to verify and document to NSI standards. Lid Tamper, Circuit Tamper, Battery Charging Voltage, Panel Current in alarm etc. Battery Capacity, SA Module operation, Mains to battery Changeover, I personally check for AC Induced voltage on the DC power outlet and present will make up a decoupling capacitor bridge to shunt the AC to ground. The customer cant test the system like we can, we still need to test the system tampers so why not cause a tamper to start off with, putting the system into engineer mode and walk test doesn't mean it will operate correctly in a full alarm condition. I test all circuits in full alarm and verify in the panel log, that way Im 100% certain it will do its job. I Started doing alarm installation in 1978. In 1981 was approached by Scantronic's Dave Amstrong to beta test the 9500, Ive worked on the 9500, 9200, 9100, 9600, Matrix etc etc and now the Ion range. Thats 45 years of learning.
Are you anywhere near West London? I have a 9200 not used for at least 13 years. No power light showing atm but connected to a fused spur. I have some instructions for it - found on google search. Can I give it a go?
@@SFGSecurity Thanks.. I have the bell box outside.. Do I assume it may actually work? The 9200 shows no power but is wired to a fused spur. I could change the fuse see if it comes to life? Anything else i need to know? Does resetting it mean I have to do walk tests etc? Does it have a battery I should change somewhere?
There’s a lot that may need doing. Power up and see what comes to life. Do you know the codes, customer and engineer codes?, you may have to crash the panel, replace battery, test circuits, leave panel charging the ext siren etc. about 10 mins work and you should know if you need to rip it out! Give it a go. Ps don’t open the panel with mains on if your not competent with electrics
50/50, Most installations don't have engineer lockout on a tamper unless they are police calling systems or under contract for maintenance with an alarm company. This Video is a prime example. I don't know the engineer code on this system so Im causing tamper fault which can be cleared by customer code. Unfortunately I fitted this system some years back when I had a couple of engineers doing service and one of them changed the codes on a few systems before leaving. You can reprogram the codes when you require if it causes issues.
I replaced the battery and its now showing up low battery and no battery error. The new battery has been testing on a multimeter and I can confirm it works and is charged up. Any advice would be appreciated.
@@SFGSecurity I have the master code and I'm hoping the installer didn't change the engineer code. Part of the problem is I don't know how to get into the engineer menu.
Hi, so my battery low has changed to missing battery as I assume it’s knackered. Just changed the battery over and it says lid tamper ( everything is back info position including that spring that presses on the lid ). Also says reset required. ?
@@SFGSecurity all sorted, thank you for your help. I needed to press the 99 tick and the system ran and all cleared 👍🏼. I have seen that you get set up fobs on these systems, is that correct? I have a unused fob, how would I set this up ( would be ideal for my mother-in-law as she hates using the alarm panel
It’s always good to watch your videos mate seeing someone take pride and do the job professionally and correctly. Top Job
I usually fit 7 ah battery's as standard as they are only about £12 from orisec
Thats really good practice, Didn't warrant on this as it only has one pir.

an alarm battery lasts for 5 years 7 years max.

Why does it beep is that like on HKC keypads where it keeps to let you know there's no power
It’s in tamper.
@@SFGSecurity Oh thank you
Hi , i jave scantronic 9600 and don’t know any codes, just bought the house and nobody left any information! Do you know how to reset that thing?
Factory codes are 1234 and 7890. With you would be able to default to.

@Babicinteriors they are bomb proof. 4567 for detailed code and 7890 for engineer code.

Hi. I need to replace the battery
Will I need the engineer code? I can't even get into the engineer menu. Says code is invalid

What panel? Scantronic.
07890 or older panels 0 enter 7890, or short the Rst pin whilst powering up.
