Depends on tech sheets from manufacturers, its environmental location and what’s being drawn from it in a power cut. As anNSI company we have to abide by manufacturers guidance but generally it’s 3-5 years depending what my discharge calc says. If it’s a wireless system and police calling I change them every 2 years as I don’t leave anything to chance.

Hi, It’s been so long since I went out to this one. I’ve had to review the video to see what I said and I did indeed say if was possibly the bell tamper, however I’ve not been back to it since panel replacement so my speculation of it being a possible bell tamper was not the case as I’ve not been called back since. Hi. It’s Orisec. The great thing about these are, If you are doing a panel upgrade and you only have a 4 core going to the siren you can put the siren into data mode which uses 4 cores and then wire the siren into the data bus instead of the bell out. By doing it this way you are able to put the siren into eng mode from the keypad.

Problem is even when you do the regulators don't care either... or dodgy dave's given fake details. If they're not giving out certs for work done then they clearly don't care or aren't certified.

I think it was probably old stock which was fitted or refitted about 8 years ago. Took it apart and it had old CCD camera with separate lens, Separate heater. Etc. look me back in time to the days of Cs and C mount lenses.

Hi. Thanks for checking out the channel. I now get my meters checked through Denmans electrical now. Had a few bad reviews about a local test house. I also had a fluke multi meter for my alarm work which they confirmed as not repairable, did it myself and got it calibrated at the new test house.

@richardwilson2447 I’ve been on call 24/7 since 1980 and I’ve had my share of faults on these older detectors. If feel hope for the next generation of engineers because they won’t have the same false alarm rate as the old days. Quality is improving, my Callout and false alarm rate is 0.01% and has been for a few years. False alarm’s these days are usually subscriber related.

No. Change it for a Orisec cp20 and cm2 coms unit. Trust me I’ve come away from texecom after 30years.

No. You need to change it for a orisec or HKC.

I was surprised as most of the ones I put in only lasted 2 years. It was embarrassing.

Hi. The panel was replaced for the latest prem elite 24. All sorted now. Cheers.

Just a choc block covered with a blanking plate. Only 5 out of the 12 core had continuity. Had to put a siren and pir on that.

Have you tried the reset link on the panel. You should be able to default everything from there.

@@SFGSecurity yes I factory reset the panel with the link. I still can't get in to the menu to change anything. Its engineer locked?

Hi. I d Checked with Richard Newey from HKC and you would have to send it back for a flash unlock. I have got pcbs which you could have for £15 plus postage.

No no. Ain’t used red and black for power for ages. This is my way. If you have a 4 core cable you will have red, black, blue and yellow. So on a contact I use blue and red for alarm and black and yellow (hazard colour) for tamper. Same on detectors but they would have power in addition so a 6 core is needed and the 2 remaining colours left in a 6 core are green and white so they are my power colours. If the detector or contact is 2 wire eol it’s stale red and blue.

I usually write on the cable with a fine sharpy. Years ago I used to put a tape flag on them and write on them.

Good point, Police calling attack buttons should not be facing up just in case both buttons are inadvertently pressed when messing about on the bed unit. Its also low down to go behind the unit and not visible to the Children..
