I’m just an occasional firewood cutter in Arizona, but wanted to let you know I really enjoy watching your videos. Your positive outlook on life is so great to see, you lift my spirits every time I watch your videos! Cheers!
Buckin' I want to say thanks for the positivity you provide to the viewers. I have been contemplating starting my own business doing tree work and landscaping for a while now since I grew up working outdoors doing that type of work, but now sit behind a desk. You convinced me to get the ball rolling out that and it could not of worked out better. World is a lot better in the outdoors!
What a great start to my day. IMPOSSIBLE not to smile with your videos! Thank you Buckin' for that! Hope all the Buckin' ARMY is doing well, and KIND! Amazing the subs have tippled since I first started watching.
Great video Buckin! You're such a blessing to folks, both internet and in your neck of the woods in everyday life. Great guy, lots of good information. Thank you Buckin!
Miserable few days in Scotland, can't go out and learn more axe work. Ah, Buckin' is up with a new wood splitting with a lovely looking axe. Instantly all is looking a whole lot better! Hmm, looks for phone numbers of local arborists to ask for some logs to play with.... And to find a way of asking the missus if we can get a wood burning stove.... Cheers again laddie, who needs depression meds and therapy when we have you and your message.... And your never ending line of braw looking axes, cheers laddie!
I fitted a woodburner in my home in Manchester! ...... Best thing I ever did! Well it is technically a Class A Dual fuel stove, but you just can't beat watching the faeries of a night! Just like Buckin' Billy Ray ........Better than Netflix!
I sure love seeing the axe work buckin, I hope maybe we can see some more tree falling and even some bucking with axes in the future? Those videos are some of my favorite.
I could fall asleep to the sound of wood cracking open and being thrown into a pile. It’s some that not everyone can appreciate Or understand. But for those who do...it’s “soul nourishing” as buckin said! Love to you and the family buddy❤️
after several years of struggling to figure out what I wanted to do, I finally figured it out. the world seems to have had other plans for me though. Buckin' your videos have been lessons. your attitude, your humor, who you are... you are an inspirational man, thank you for making these videos.
You have inspired me to look closer at my old axes. Would love to send you a photo. I have not used these old axes since I was a kid. My double is a truetemper flint edge. The handle is all beat up on both edges. Nails holding the handle in. Keep doing your thing your way.
Buckin, some parts of his speech I can relate to and live with but when a "Celebrity" starts using these as a platform for an agenda like stopping the dairy industry they lose me. As I'm sure many of you would if they got up there and said we should all stop burning firewood to keep our homes warm. I take exception to them doing things like that because at the end of the day we need to remember that like politicians actors are paid to lie. Love the channel and the message let's just continue to leave agendas other than peace at the door.
That tinkle sound of good wood being split by an axe, best music in the world. Beauty of a handle too, one of the best looking I've ever seen, glad it held up. Don't know if I'd want to give up hickory handles for it though. Stay safe.
maaan i must say... i've been watching all sorts of youtube for the past 10 or more years and this channel is by far one of the most best channels i have ever come across. I really really appreciate your hard work and effort and i think your kind and outgoing personality is one of the most unique out there. thank you soo much for everything!!!!
G’morning Buckin and the “Soldiers of Kindness”, wishing you all a day filled with love. Nice handle on that axe Buckin, I love the sweet slender curviness of that handle. Looks like it would be comfortable in the hands for a nice workout.
Great video Brother Buckin', thanks. Yes, the strength of Elm lies in its incredible resistance to splitting, bust open a piece of Elm and you will find fibres that do not let go. Having split much of this wood I experienced mauls and big axes bounce of it, it may not be as hard as Hickory but hardness really only benefits the person who over-strikes. I also think that this wood will be preferable for shock resistance which is important for repetitive activities like chopping wood, the Finnish People use a species of Birch and prefer its shock absorbing qualities. Good to see you fit and strong in your work...I need to get back at it as I have more miles on the clock than you do...LOL!! Much Love, WS.
I love your outlook on life! I'm 74 this month. I hand split about 7 cords a year. Wood is our only source of heat 38 years so far. Keeps me fit . Thanks for all your good advice. Woody
The flexibility of that Elm is very similar to wild Cherry. I've made a lot of cherry handles (mostly for dirt digging tools, post hole, shovels, etc) because it will take a beating and just keep bending without breaking. Great video!
The axe man shuffle love it!!. Saw a great sign today...if you can’t find love in yourself, find it in somebody else!! Great axe Buckin, love it. Take care, be safe and love and kindness to all. Graham 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Billy Ray, that's some real wood busting. You remind me of me, I was cutting and busting selling firewood 30 years ago and I still love busting firewood.
Billy when I was a kid our favorite fire wood was red elm. I think it will make excellent axe handles. Because it is very stringy and doesn't split good unless it's frozen .love y'all . Well to new subscribers and welcome to all. 😊😊😊👍👍👍👍💖
I love how you use your old 70s Ford and Mercury trucks! My brother inlaw has a 1979 Ford F100 and he never uses it for any real work. I want to get a old Ford truck like you have and make sure everything works and is solid and use it like it was ment to be used! Also I think you are one of a kind I enjoy your UA-cam channel alot!
Ya just can’t go wrong opening with the Beloved Merc!😍 Talk to me about that handle... I’m seeing a work of art! We’re all accustomed to Billy Ray’s amazing Craftsmanship, but occasionally the Buckin’ Man’s work goes into uncharted territory. Phenomenal! Blessings All!
Sometimes i wonder if that old simple life wouldnt be so much better!! When i was growing up at one point we lived in 3 sheep wagons. Built a 20x20 one room cabin and thought that was stylin!!! Thanls for the video Buckin!! Grsat axe build!!
Hi there from the Great State of Maine! Came for the saw sharpening, subbed for the great content and attitude. Thanks for making these vids and I look forward to seeing more and working back through your posts.
Wow Buckin that's a dandy of an axe. I love splittin with an axe over a maul anyday. With the Flick the wood stays upright so much nicer. Love it Buckin. 🌲❤🌲
Buckin... I gotta say thank you. You changed the way I cut with my power saws and split with my axes. Has forever changed my life. Oh and thanks for making me an axe addict haha
Can’t get over the truck brother. So glad I found this channel almost like divine intervention if you ever make out to East coast I got you and your family for the weekend 👍👍
That axe is almost to pretty to use . What a beast . We just processed a 20 in. Red elm for firewood , I was thinking about you the whole time . Wished you were there .
Hey Buckin' Billy New here from Ukraine! Just love your Vids. Love watchin ya chop. 66 and been chopping since childhood. Used to fire my huge pottery wood kiln with more wood in 24 hours than an average man would use to heat his home for a season! My thing now is building Russian Stoves with water circulating for floor heating systems. You keep chopping and I'll keep stoken!
Been splitting a bunch of Locust Buckin ! Its hardwood but splits nicely like that Fur. It's a joy to split wood by hand like that ! Keep up the great work . Those leather suspenders and cut up shirt makes you look like your ready for a role in a Robinhood movie HaHa !
Man, UA-cam can sure make the world a small place, I’m pretty sure we met a few years back. I was checking out your Mercury pickup as they were never sold in the USA. We had stopped to get a cup of Joe at Tim Hortons and you gave me a copy of a CD. Still listen to that album from time to time. Didn’t even know you had a channel here. Nice to see you again, even if it is virtually.
Tack on another subscriber, Friend. You put out a great show! I just found about about it, but I HAVE BEEN WATCHING quite a bit. Peace and love from Chicago, brother.
Its all yours. Double headed all day long and it is painful watching him split wood. Dump those rounds butt down side by side right next to where you stack. The split pieces remain upright and you bend over less and split faster as the log is not running away
