Good trick doing it with the light bulb… also a lot of testers have LEDs inside, what’s not good because it can “trick” the test showing it’s good since LEDs consume less or almost nothing watts.
Hey Oz I really appreciates your input on this video. I wish I was in Pasadena to take you my truck but I'm 6 hours away from Houston. Thank you for explaining everything.
Oh Yes..the classic Voltage Drop test..I was hoping you would show how the test light would shut off. Nice work bro. Sounds like your starting your B-Day with a BANG...or someone just used the parts cannon. LOL Happy Birthday OZ
Do you have any videos on radiator fan balance or adjustments? When I turn the A/C on, and the fan start turning, there is a clicking/rubbing noise each rotation...?
If one of the two fans is working, should the other be working, also, at the same speed, at the same time? Or is it computer controlled and additive, meaning does only one fan sometimes come on, normally, and the second fan, slower, or only when needed? I've got one of the two fans that is acting sluggish when I first started the car, then stopped completely before the motor warmed up - not sure if this is normal or not. Thanks!
Hi Oz love your videos. Please look into why you sound so low. Maybe your recording volume is set low. Lol I got turn on my close caption on to read what you saying lol. Keep on with your videos they are great 👍🏼 Happy Birthday!!
HEY OZ, i was wondering in cases in which the radiator fan doesn't turn at max speed (needed when in traffic) fan turns but not to its fullest potential. Radiator motor has been ruled out what can be the culprit? this is for a chevy malibu 2019 similar to your chevy equinox design but in a malibu application (less space) any help would be appreciated.
@@OzMechanics the transmission is overheating because 2019 Chevy Malibu uses the radiator for cooling the transmission (a little mini radiator in the big radiator) so when in traffic and the fan needs to be a my full blast it’s not and the transmission overheats (only overheated twice)
Hey I have a question I have a 09 Tahoe and my fans only turn on with my ac on I switched the thermostat and the temp sensor and still does the same. connections, relays and fuses all good do you know what could be the problem
My fan stopped working on my 2012 equinox. I noticed in the front of the radiator, looking from outside is a connection for something not connected. Any idea what it's for?
I have a 2000 Lumina and the rad fans quit working. I’m thinking it’s a relay or a temp sensor. It’s unlikely that two DC motors would fail at the exact same time.
Happy Birthday man. Thank you for your time and videos. Will definitely check out Teespring for you. Didn't see T-shirts. The Gildan ones are good quality and would get one. I live in Canada so a hoodie is good too.
I have a same issue with my fan not working, so when i turn on the car the fan doesn’t spin and when i turn the ac it takes about 15 second to make the fan spin and it works for about another 30-40 secs then it turns off again and it stops spinning it does it a couple times on an off ? what could be the cause of that? Im planing on replacing the hole cooling sistem on it but just for future references if i can get some help ill appreciate it guys🙏🏼
You provided no info about your vehicle to get a specific (or close as you can on the interwebs) diagnosis. But I would say that your ac high pressure switch is kicking on/off the ac clutch which in turn is turning the fan on/off.
Hello bro! Question: Can the a/c blow cold without the radiator fans coming on? My sister has a 2009 Chevy Traverse and everything else with the cooling system checks out But the fans won't turn on---- a/c is blowing warm air with compressor clutch engages
I have a question if you can help me. I have a 2015 Traverse and I changed the radiator fan and once the new fan was installed it worked very well but the next day it blew the fuse of fan 2. and I changed the fuse and it blew it again, do you have any idea why? Does the fuse burn and only one fan works and the temperature rises a little but only when it is in parking or without walking the truck?
Hey there Jose. So normally what causes a fuse to blow is too much current when something is overworking itself or there’s a short. I would probably look for a short first because you did replace the fans already. Here’s a video I made on looking for shorts. Hope this helps ua-cam.com/video/7-VjG6ztNG8/v-deo.html
What causes these connectors to get buggered up like that? Voltage spikes from the alternator? No electrical grease to protect the components? Inferior material/workmanship? Poor design?
@@OzMechanics Thanks. Cant understand why the coolant fan and the blower motor acted up at the exact same time. I'm wondering if they are related in any possible way?
@@OzMechanics So did you end up just crimping the Butt-connector to bypass the burnt connectors? I have a connector that looks the same and was just going to cut the wrong plug connector on new fans I bought and the harness connector and straight wire with butt-connector instead of the plugs. Should that work? Any issues with that? Thank you, just subscribed! Know this is an old video but hopefully still able to see my question :)

I have a 2011 Chevy Cruze Malibu or Impala the thurmastat cracked it's the long one I changed it out and put a new one in now the rataior fan is not working but if you pull the fuse out and put it back in it will come on but won't shut off but if you pull the relay fuse it will shut off but when you put it back in it won't come back on so what is the problem if you can help me I would appreciate it very much thank you.

Excellent Video👍👍👍👍Packed with information on any vehicle. Great Mechanics!!.
that last blooper was concerning lol struggling currently with my 2003 civic.. this actually might be the right diagnostic thanks
That was actually a transformer that blew up. Really caught me off guard
Ah yes, load the circuit to ensure a good circuit. Classic move right there. Nice find on that on Oz. And yes, Happy Birthday buddy!
Yes sr. That headlight has become one of my favorite tools. Thank you for the bday wishes
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OZ!!!! Enjoy and have a great safe one 🎈🎉🎈🎉🎈

Happy Birthday Oz🎈🎁, (a little late⏱) fantastic trouble shooting🔧⚙ as usual. 👍👍
Do you have any videos on radiator fan balance or adjustments? When I turn the A/C on, and the fan start turning, there is a clicking/rubbing noise each rotation...?
What is the connector that you replaced? The one that plugs directly to the fan? It didn’t look like that one was damaged.
Thanks Oz for great videos.. And happy b-day may God bless you... From Mexicali,Mexico...
Thanks for watching Franco
Happy birthday Oz
A few day's late but happy birthday mate, good voltage drop case study.
Happy birthday, can't you hard wire around the bad plugs ?.
Are those only supposed to come on when the a/c is on?
Good job Oz. Happy Birthday, my Birthday is on the 27
Happy early birthday 🎁
I have a stuck open thermostat, could that prevent the cooling fans from turning on?

Actually someone said my other video was too loud so I brought it down. I don’t know what to do :(
Oz Mechanics don’t worry bro your stuff is so good I’ll just put up with it. I’ll plug it to my car stereo system and let everyone it. Lol 😂✌🏼

I’m just going off of memory from older Chevrolets, the max won’t turn on only if it gets to about 240 degrees. Is the car overheating
@@OzMechanics the transmission is overheating because 2019 Chevy Malibu uses the radiator for cooling the transmission (a little mini radiator in the big radiator) so when in traffic and the fan needs to be a my full blast it’s not and the transmission overheats (only overheated twice)

Problems with transmission present themselves in traffic in hot days when engine temp is at 205 degrees

The ac will only work if the car is moving at high speeds. With out the fan working it can’t cool the leaking in the ac system
Happy post and future birthdays !!!!!

Happy belated, Oz. Thanks for Wathing. 😂😂

Most of the time is poor contact on the connector

On my backie engine fan motor not working
You know a test light is not the right tool to use, you need a multimeter to measure the voltage
