Man, my first encounter with Onslaught was in Marvel Vs. Capcom. Good times.
Same here. Very good times
Great game
That was a hard final boss. So hard that part 2 was crazy easy
They're modding him back into Ultimate Marvel 3.
@@AlriikRidesAgain don't play with my emotions.... will buy the pc version just for this when it happens
Feral Wolverine is not his default state it is a secondary mutation caused by massive trauma. He was not Feral for the first 100 years without Adamantium. He was in a 50 year on/off relationship with Mystique in the late 1800s to early 1900s and he wasn't Feral.
At the time of the telling of the story, it was explained by a character to be case that the adamantium prevented his further mutation. Like most things that fans wouldn't necessarily get behind, I'm pretty glad they haven't referred to it again but the words were said. As for the Mystique stuff, Wolverine was born in the 1880s so all of that was post 1907. Granted, his past was established relatively more recently than other stories that would seem like he's even older, but he's [now] not that old.
Technically, we can't say that just because he lasted 70+ years without devolving to that feral appearance before getting adamantium that he never would have. The trauma could have accelerated something that would have happened over 200 more years for all we know.
I'm with you though that they've ignored that since, and treated it more like the trauma caused it (or more accurately, they don't talk about that time all).
Ever since the end of Thanos in the MCU. My friends and I have been saying if only MCU had the rights to X-Men, imagine if the next big bad was Onslaught. MCU would then pool everything they've created and X-Men together along with a rebooted Fantastic 4.
The spam bots LOVE onslaught 😂
@@baddreams123451no, he’s just saying the amount of spam bots are insane.
I knew Onslaught was inevitable on X-men 97. Thanks for this video!!!
Lmaooo still think so?
Onslaught always reminds me of the Super Shredder in the TMNT #2 film
Lmao W reference
What makes Onslaught an OP (Overpowered) villain he made no one has ever done before in X-Men, he made the Juggernaut scared.
and then proceeded to rip cyttorak's gem right out of him
Thanks I had no idea what OP means 😂😒
Honestly, I'm just really looking forward and hoping to see him in the new '97 series. Such an awesome and terrifyingly powerful villian. This guy was able to take on the X-men, Avengers, Fantastic Four, Spiderman, and Doctor Doom.
Spider man is an avenger
@omoefeasiemo3601 Isn't he more of an on-and-off member though?
@@h_4victory293 still have been with the avengers on a good number of story arcs
@@omoefeasiemo3601Spider-Man is a loner and solo hero with occasional team ups and only works with the Avengers when necessary.
@@nofacedgoldfish6216so... an avenger then..
This guy is so gonna be our thanos for 97 and I’m here for it!
Maybe onslaught will be created in 97 in a similar way to the comics but with apocalypse thrown into the mix. That would be terrifying and I want that!
Apocalypse fist
Onslaught gonna be a whole problem
Onslaught will most likely happen in Season 3 because Season 2 is going to be about the three versions of Apocalypse.
They could most likely reveal Onslaught in small to significant ways throughout season two. There's a good likelihood that if the pacing and 10 episode limit carries over to next season that the entirety of the Apocalypse plot will be in 3-5 episodes _tops_ with other story elements and plot being shown in between the more Apocalypse centric episodes. For example, I wouldn't be too surprised if they show Vulcan still in Shi'ar space remembering who he is, Cable meeting more of and teasing what will eventually become X-Force, the formation of Bishop and Forge's team(possibly interacting with Juggernaut) as well as those characters in action. Possibly even showing Marrow if she survived Genosha. The chances are greater for most or all of the aforementioned happening if there are either more or longer episodes to work with. Even if it's just 2-5 more than this season.
You read my mind, season 2 will be dominated by Apocalypse as the concluded season was littered with Bastion.
I do believe onslaught will be teased again at the end of season 2@ daragonsoul128
I agree
Amd to add to that. They should have other animated cartoons come in, and they can get Fantastic Four, the avengers, and spider-man to help take out Onslaught
Hes such a pain when you fight him in mvc1
How so?
@KAW101 for one in his first form, any move that does multiple hits Onslaught can teleport out of it as he's getting hit. His second form....being that his weak spot is his head, you have some grounded attacks that won't reach him. Onslaught can also fly up past just a bit out of super jump range.
10:45 - Ya’ll notice the obligatory clue/answer on Psylocke’s shirt when she asked who Onslaught was and what his name is? Nice job, writers and cartoonists! 👏🏻
about time we got 1 of the most terrifying villains not just in xmen but in marvel period appear. let's just hope they don't disney him up and decide to give him some backstory to make him seem relatable like marvel and disney think they always have to do
I need to read the full Onslaught Saga in Marvel Comics because this is so awesome!!!
Now there's only one question.
What happens if Wolverine's mind and Sabretooth's mind merge together?
Nothing to crazy but just a beastly and physically more power wolverine or saber tooth with an even more insane healing factor.
Basically feral Wolverine
@@topher93rodden yup
Amazing video yet again! Thank you for all you do man!
Since you mentioned Feral Wolverine, you should give us an episode on that too
In the works! 😎🤘
I think only the x men, fantastic four, and Spiderman were the only ones left
X-Men, Spider-Man, and a handful of others survived in their real world. Avengers and Fantastic Four were the ones who sacrificed themselves and came back. I saw it all; one of the defining moments of my personal 1996.
Onslaught leading to all major non-mutant heroes (avengers and FF) sacrificing themselves, like in the comics, and thus setting up their brand new series from the ground up with origins for all. Then ALL the 90s cartoons will be back!
Loved how they meshed plot ideas and cameos seamlessly, while sticking with continuity. I Pray there's no behind the scene's shake ups going into next batch of episodes. Cause writers and artists did a banger job❤🤘🏼
It’s Disney… only a matter of time before they poop their pants
Dark Danny from The Ultimate Enemy was basically the 'Onslaught' of the Danny Phantom series
Onslaught rule... He just LOOKS like "f*** you" lol
I think a number of us were first introduced to character when he was the final boss of Marvel vs Capcom.
I read the comic books when he was really introduced years earlier.
Yea...man...he was annoying in the damn game!! I can only beat him with Ryu and Wolverine...he was OP as hell!!
I loved the revel of Onslaught, I still have all the original issues from when this all happened.
Yeah that finale made me think, is this how they’re going to introduce onslaught? It’s creation has always confused me no matter how many times I read it.
This series of X-Men should not have Onslaught after Prof X allowed Magnus to find that peace he was denying himself by being held back by anger at his past.
With no anger or reason to shut down Magnus, there is no reason for Onslaught
We also see this in the fact that there has been no info from Cables timeline about Onslaught and the fact that only Apocalypse remains throughout all the times we have seen
Exactly. Nothing that made Onslaught in the comics existed in this encounter.
9:13 why does beast look like Clark Kent
Was just going to talk about this on a podcast tonight. Love it. Can’t wait for Onslaught
I’m so hype for them to bring out onslaught!
Am I the only one that wants the intro laugh whenever they talk about villains, regardless of the month?
This is not a bad idea. 🤔
I see Onslaught trickling in Mid-season, Making his debut by the 2nd the last, or the Finale of Season 2. Then being the Baddy of Season 3.
Great video 😁
As someone who has been an X-Men fan since long before the Onslaught story began, I look forward to watching the cartoon tackle the subject. I never watched the X-Men cartoon during it's initial run, because I resented the stories getting "Nerfed" for a younger audience. Having watched it when it hit Disney+, I now appreciate it...even if it is a somewhat streamlined version of the comic stories...
Some version of the Juggernaut scene/struggle and the reveal with Jean _has_ to happen in X-Men '97/98!
I swear i joked about onslaught in like ep 5, but him actually happening is fucking crazy
Onslaught aka when Prof-X put the potara earrings on Magneto👂🏾💍‼️😅😂 great vid as usual‼️Keep up the awesome work‼️
Onslaught need to line up coz Apocalypse's gonna take over season 2
Win 🤩
Yeah, man. If you haven't read the Onslaught run from back in the day, you should check it out. I found it fantastic as a young buck.
Onslaught was my favorite arc as a kid. It completely blew my mind back then. Ahhh, the nostalgia. I knew it was only a matter of time...
Nope variant is incorrect the next big bad to appear in season 2 is going to be Kang the Conqueror only because of the time travelling at the end of the episode
What do you think is the best thing about Onslaught in the Comics compared to the other versions of Professor X? Which one of his powers and abilities is the best? What would have happened if he appeared in Fox's X-Men movies? Do you think he should appear in the MCU and that too as a main villain of an Avengers and X-Men team up movie?
Variant thxs for showing me Legion Sabers appreciate it
We probably won't see Onslaught until season 3 or a small tease at the end of season 2. Just like they did with Apocalypse at the end of season 1 having him being the big bad villain in season 2. Since they already started season 2 before season 1 ended. It seems season 2 will happen in 2025 the question is when? Will it be in early 2025 or late 2025? Waiting for x-men 97 season 2 is going to be brutal. Expectally seeing that post credit scene.
Reminds me of being a kid and reading all those comics about Onslaught. I loved the character and bought any issue that mentioned that story line even if it was a comic i at the time didn't regularly read.
A lot of these panels are in episode 9. So awesome.
The issue is that the episode did the exact opposite of set up Onslaught. It negated Onslaught. The context was entirely changed and the fact that they talked it out and Xavier even healed and revived Magneto's mind. Means that literally every action that formed Onslaught in Fatal Attractions didn't play out here.
I'm wondering if there will be some sort of Apocalypse VS Onslaught. That would be wild.
I can't enter the lightsaber contest due to living in Canada but its cool always love your vids. :)
Magnus is so OP, I love it
Please do a bastion episode!! Miss the podcast is it coming back soon??
Onslaught just has so much aura
Behold my name and fear it. I am Onslaught
Can you do history of Alfred Pennyworth, Batwing, Flame Bird, Batwoman, Azrael, Signal(Duke Thomas), Bluebird, Stephanie Brown and Carrie Kelly?
😢it's been a while since we've had any anime-related. Any chance we could get some new anime recommendations or reviews soon?
Really miss those!
And as always thanks for the content 👍🏻
Bring back the alternate versions of please!!! I need me more multiverse madness
So i guess onslaught is the thanos of xmen 97
One of my favorite villans!
Can you guys do a episode on The Phantom Stranger?
I am curious on how marvel is going to adapt onslaught into x-men animated series because in all honestly the original stories wasn’t really good but so disappointing in my opinion.
Onslaught is up there with Thanos, Galactus and Apocalpyse among S tier villains
Which lightsaber brand is better? Legion Sabers or Theory Sabers?
If the likes of Shadow king, Onslaught, Cassandra Nova & Orchis will be next villains in the upcoming seasons, well better be allies with Legion, En Sabah Nur & Externals
I want to see an age of apocalypse story played out
Where’s the podcast at man
I thought for sure after the end of episode 9 that onslaught was gonna show up in episode 10 to setup season 2.
I look forward to seeing Onslaught when he makes his appearance in the show, X-Men 97. 🤩
15:00 dont think thats the X-Men 54 you guys meant in the script😂
NGL I have only known onslaught in Marvel vs Capcom (PS1) from waaaaay back
Now we need the hulk and Franklin Richard’s to do their thing. Oh Ryu was there (if you know, you know.)
But they have Kang and En Sabah Nur to deal with first
Can you talks About Ambush Bug
Do you think we could have seen Onslaught make his live action debut in X-men Days of Future Past since James McAvoy Charles Xavier was in a depressed state? Did he prevent the creation of Onslaught by getting Hank McCoy's Beast to make a temporary antidote for his powers and when he told Magneto "I'm never going inside that head ever again"?
Apocalypse versus Onslaught in season 2? I say, bring it!
Why would they fight? Apocalypse literally sat out the Onslaught Saga. Watching it play out with Uatu. He made one play to kill Franklin Richards (who doesn't exist in the TAS universe) and did nothing more after that.
After all human heroes sacrifice themselves is when apocalypse shows himself that why only the X-men where there to try to stop him, so really really makes no difference how they roll it, one will weaken them the other will finish them. These is literally the end of X-men main universe after all.
I reeeeeally don't wanna wait a whole year...
W video 🔥
Onslaught was the best thing to happen in Marvel and the most devastating. Seeing all the superheroes sacrifice themselves. It was amazing
Magneto should be able to control most people with his powers. The iron in the blood. Thats how he kept his own blood circulating during the Judgement Day event when his heart was ripped out.
Onslaught vs Apocalypse. Who’s stronger in the comics? Here I am wishing this fight in the cartoon.
I honestly wanted the onslaught to be in the back ground of season 2 - 3 , and be the main antagonist of season 4
Nice.
I love Onslaught and Apocalypse
Professor X must be a fan of Drake
This guy is too powerful for the show!!!
Please do the feral Wolverine story
15:15 marvel should make movie 🎬 of that war vs onslaught
You would think with what such a powerful being what hope would any of the heroes have to stop onslaught. 😮😮😮
I think they save onslaught as the main villain of season 3. Whatever they do I’m excited for next season.
My body is not ready. 😬
Nice shirt
"Know my name and fear it, I am Onslaught"
The '90s has bought us memorable comicbook sagas from DC, Image, Marvel, and other independent comics publishers.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hmmm... feeling a gambit style staff.
So do you think they'll introduce Nate Grey in season 2 because it seems they're going full on age of apocalypse and do you think Onslaught be the main villain for season 3.
Daniel Craig comes to mind for such a role.
I wonder if they'll bring all the 90s marvel characters together to fight him like in the comics
When are you going to do history of Marvel's Sandman and Kurt Conners the Lizard since they made a live action comeback in Spider-Man No Way Home along with the Elementals who were mentioned in Spider-Man Far From Home?
