Invincible season 2 review?
Im so confused on how 10 half hour long episodes gave every x-men member and more characters, their own moment, but 20 years of x-men movies were just used to adapt wolverine
When did Beast have a moment? When did Nightcrawler have a moment? When did Cable have a moment? When did Morph have an e moment? When did Bishop have a moment? When did Gambit have a moment(other than when he sacrificed himself or when he was getting cucked)?
This was the Jean/Madelyn/Scott romance saga featuring Magneto cucking Gambit and a guest spot of Storm facing the Wish equivalent of the Shadow King
To be fair, First class focused on Xavier, Magneto and Mystique as it's primary characters and only gave Logan a small cameo.
@@tatoba5066 Nightcrawler: him seeing Rogue and Gambit and encouraging Gambit to marry Rogue, him comforting Jean, and him fighting the Prime Sentinels alongside Wolverine while wielding three swords at once, with some AMAZING music playing.
Cable: him taking out Bolivar Trask, his team up with Cyclops and Jean, and that moment with an astral projection of Cyclops.
Morph: You could really put most of the cameos on here. Highlights include Hulk and Quicksilver.
Bishop and Beast: I agree, these two got really sidelined. Still they had a few moments. Bishop had his tag team with Cyclops and taking Cable to the future. Beast has his commandeering of Scentinel, twice. There's also the little moment at the end of episode 10 that sums up the entire situation. I do hope more is done with these two in a possible second season.
As for Gambit...well I wouldn't worry about that. If that post credit scene with Apocalypse means anything, Gambit is coming back with a vengeance.

To be fair after so many years of seeing THIS Wolverine only use his claws to cut up robots or objects or non-humans, it is surprising to see him draw blood for once.

Here comes tomorrow (the final story, oh his run), is one of them future alternative universe stpries the XMen love so much, and it shows that casandra has grown and become a better person in the intervening years. Most the stuff done with her after grants run isn't great (but that's the nature of most post-decimation/IVX xmen content.) there were some fun stories and implications with her as a student at the school but eventually she goes back to lizard syndrome, replaying the hits as it were.

Yeah the first 4 episodes and the first half of the fifth episode felt like you were watching a classic 90s x-men show, the x-men fighting some bad guys, and jubilee having a birthday and mojo was there, a court case. But as soon as the genosha scene happened it became an entire new show.

I specifically think that Tchalla was not allowed to be in Xmen 97 because it's SPECIFICALLY a Marvel Studios affiliated production still.
The showrunner was bound to NDA to not talk about it either.
I don't understand on how removing or not including Tchalla as the Black Panther is them paying respect to Chadwick Bosamen. I kinda find it to be disrespectful to him by not having the character he played not appearing in anything after he died.
@damienlarson4145 likely a legal safeguard to prevent *any* potential misuse of the character that would possibly make people uncomfortable (Ala Thor being 99 percent goofy in Love and Thunder)
@@damienlarson4145 ironically, in X-Men '97's Neutral Spanish dub, T'Chaka was voiced by the same VA who dubbed Chadwick as T'Challa in the MCU
Kinda fucked up if Marvel actually has a clause preventing T'challa from appearing in any media (outside of the comics), it's really disrespectful to the character and his fans.

Maybe the issue regarding Genosha is simply recognising the mutant state as the legitimate government. The UN took forever to acknowledge the PRC as China.
Gotta say, as someone who didn't watch a whole lot of the OG show, this show was excellent. Really lookimg forward to season 2 whenever that happens

I haven't watched it myself since X-Men was never really my thing but I love that this series is using actual veteran voice actors as well as new ones instead of everyone being voiced by a celebrity.
Now don't get me wrong, sometimes a celebrity can do a good job, but it's refreshing to not have a cast full of them.
I haven't really been watching this show beyond whatever shows up on my twitter feed because of the disney boycott, but god damn does it really feel like a breath of Fresh air to have Marvel Content that has NOTHING TO DO WITH and/or trying to be like the MCU.
I'd like to see an animated Spider-Man series based on the works of JMS and Paul Jenkins, a Deadpool animated series, a Ninja Turtles animated series based on the IDW comics, a Hellboy animated series, a Kick-Ass animated series, and Animated Marvel movies based on various stories from the comics like they used to do.

I always get mad at UA-cam when it doesn't put Xavier's videos in the subscriptions box because then people comment something like" Finally you post after 17 years!" not knowing he's posted like 3 other videos in the past month
I was worried about this show, but I'm glad the series is good. It's awesome that finally a show that pay respect to source materials what they want. Although, some people my not care for it which is why the viewership are low and just don't trust disney which I totally understand and can't blame them, but hopefully they'll check it out one of these days. Plus, I'm happy that Nightcrawler join the team since as a kid he along with Colossus, Psylocke are my favorite characters that should have join the X-Men but those two didn't join but hey its great Nightcrawler is part of it. Now with the success of X-Men 97, let's hope we get more shows that were canceled to be brought back like Spider-Man tas, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest heroes, and bring the other 90s Marvel cartoons.

You’re mention of how the cameos work in this show are something I’ve been thinking about for a while. If every marvel show had like one episode that had another MCU character in it those shows would be so much better
... couldn't agree more on your comment regarding the redemption thing. It confuses and appals me how people nowadays seem to see any form of forgiveness or attempt to redeem people as "villains getting away scott-free with their crimes" or "villains who haven't earned their redemption".
This show got more and more wild as it went on and adapted some of the coolest story elements, I absolutely love it and thoroughly enjoyed it.
i loved x-men 97 it was really awesome and badass and seeing peter parker and mary jane on this show made me so happy. ;)
It's harder for cameos with film actirs due to their contracts having a set number of appearances. Wasting Benedict's contractual appearance in a role to just see him doing surgery in a captain America film is not cost effective. Name dropping them can and maybe should be done more

Hey dude, go check out the older stuff its great! Start with OG Xmen and Spiderman TAS then when you're finished with Xmen OG you can start on '97 because its amazing!
@@GodzillaMendoza I wish they made quality content like they did back then for the newer generation. '97 is a good start but its still the old continuity and that'll put off many newcomers as well. I really hope the new Spider-Man show coming to disney+ is good, the kids need some quality content!

Its really great how this show manage to utterly defy expectations and deliver a refreshingly great and almost unanimously liked product.
The fact that Comic book grifters outright had to turn tail and stop talking about the show or start singing its praises too after formerly slamming it really just goes to show that this show is amazing.

I am with you on this, it was major exciting that X-men got a well deserved comeback after the years of regressing them to something like film rights severely hinder presence in media during the 2010s.
I don't blame you on certain misgivings you have on outside marvel elements as I'm pretty tire of them as well, heck, not for only X-men, but for Marvel animation to be better than what it was before after EMH, with Hit Monkey, Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur (I'm a bit nixed on What If) with actual intros glad this isn't Loeb era mederocrity of the last decade.
I didn't even notice some present errors like Cap's blue arms, guess things were good enough, I took little notice, and do like the cameos (I differ a bit, respectfully on the NWH part since they actually added to the plot and not a complete one and done).
I do like the animation, and most of it , I didn't even know it was 3D, we came a whole long way, and that the 3D looks way better in this than What If (like with Honest trailer's take on it, if anything, it should've been an anthology series of different animation styles like with Star Wars visions/Batman: Gotham Knight).
I feel like we're lucky to Have this show

I'm really excited to see this timeline breakdown. That's my bread & butter right there... I've been watching the shows recently, since catching up on X-Men for the new series, and trying to connect the dots. So far, I've of course finished X-Men, and then The Fantastic Four, and now I'm slogging through Iron Man before moving onto Spider-Man, Hulk, Silver Surfer, and The Avengers: United They Stand. But because I'm watching them with my kid, and in so far increments between viewings, I know there's details I'm missing and things I'm forgetting as I go along. So, really interested in how you guys tackle it!

They finally made the X-Men cool again, and they’re even wearing gold spandex again! It’s great.
I don’t think the T’Chaka thing was a mistake, in the Fantastic Four show the cameo of the X-Men makes no sense either.
In the episode “Nightmare in Green,” you can see Juggernaut about to make his way out of the water and on to the bridge like in the episode “The Juggernaut Returns” but in that same episode from Fantastic Four you can see all of the X-Men gathered together on a building when that can’t possibly be the case since the team was apart in “The Juggernaut Returns” some of them were even on Muir Island at the time.
The origins of the Hulk featured in an episode of Iron Man is different than in Hulk’s own show. That’s not including The Leader looking completely different between shows.
I just don’t think these shows were ever meant to fit together like the DCAU or something like that.

In regards to Hobgoblin…the MCU has been building up Ned’s rise and fall as the Hobgoblin, and since their Ned doesn’t know Peter Parker is Spider-man after the events of No Way Home, more likely than not we’re at least getting live-action Hobgoblin
My only and biggest problem with the show is when you saw MCU things bleed into the show… example being Dr Strange and Forge’s magic looking like the annoying sparks from the MCU. Other than that this show is such a breath of fresh air with superhero media in general
Also the Dora Milaje looking like the MCU ones instead of the 90s comics ones being younger girls (as they were basically kinda a harem) with full hair

They never explain how Bishop ended up in 1997 and taking refuge with the X-Men then when he leaves none of the other seem to care or even say goodbye. Hopefully it will be explored in season 2
There is a canonical prequel comics that explains some stuff not addressed in the show like Storm's hair style (said to be inspired by Dazzler and to start the new millenium with style or something) or when "Jean" found out she was pregnant.

I'm gonna get a little lazy (or creative?) here. All the 90s shows and their major events happened on Earth-92131 but inconsistencies are from the nearly identical Earth-534834. The two universes are slight variations of each other with most things being 1 to 1.
19:45 I've said for years that Game of Thrones would be amazing as an animated series, in the style of Invincible. There is actually a graphic novel version for the three "Dunk and Egg" novellas (the HBO show about them, called "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" starts shooting this summer) and they're fucking fantastic. I'd love to see them put to actual animation, because even with HBO's budget, they can never really afford the set-pieces and big shit that we get in the books. But with animation, the sky's the limit.

Captain America wasn't really a jerk, he was 100% on their side but just wanted to play by the book when the X- men weren't really having it. It does not at all strike me like a poor interpretation of his character.
