What I love is how this show was slowly building Cap's character from the man out of time who is perfect soldier, one who takes orders. To slowly adjusting to modern era and eventually becoming the leader
There's a deleted scene in _The Avengers_ where Steve Rogers tried to fit in with the modern world as he's sitting in the cafe, sketching in his sketchbook.
Wow, that Hulk interaction was great! Hulk has mostly been seen by his allies as a necessary liability and even a monster, so for him to hear Cap call him a hero despite his nature was actually very heartwarming.
This hulk is capable of think things better than the one from the comics. Even he was able to tell iron man what kind of energy he was looking to one time.
This is also why Hulk likes Spider-Man. Spidey doesn't judge or fear Hulk for what he is, Spidey trusts Hulk and realizes that Hulk is simply misunderstood, and Hulk shows beyond any shadow of a doubt that he thinks the world of Spidey, as when everyone else had forgotten Spidey due to his deal with Mephisto, _Hulk did not_ and stated very simply: *"Hulk always remembers his friends."* Imagine how that must have felt for Spidey, to realize that Hulk thought so highly of him that not even *_MEPHISTO_* could erase Hulk's memories of Peter/Spidey. Were I in that situation and found that someone like Hulk thought so highly of me, it would have been incredibly humbling and I'd be beyond grateful for it. Though Hulk has many different versions. The EMH version seems to be a mix of "Classic" Hulk & "Professor" Hulk due to having all of the power of the classic version yet also retaining his intelligence as shown by him identifying that Michael Korvak was emitting a form of Cosmic Radiation. IMO, the EMH version of Hulk would be one of the most formidable, as he'd be far more than just a "dumb brute", he'd have all of that raw power and durability backed up by Banner's intelligence. I also wish they'd bring EMH back, as there were still plenty of potential villains left untouched and unused, such as Thanos, Dormammu, Mephisto, etc. They could feasibly even have had the Avengers get involved in a possible "Sinister Six" scenario that Spidey was having real trouble with on his own, so the Avengers step in to help Spidey out both to stop the Sinister Six, and because they "owe" Spidey for his efforts against Kang. They could possibly even have gone into a plot-line where the Avengers possibly came into conflict with Magneto and the Brotherhood, and/or had Apocalypse show up in some way.
It's a shame that Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes got cancelled after its second season, they had a good thing going story wise. Not to mention they did the Secret Invasion storyline better than the MCU did.
Yep, they were gonna show Photon, the original 5 X-Men displaced in time, and other cool stuff, but alas Disney fucked up everything just because they didn't had the rights to the X X-Men and Fantastic 4

Pretty sure an entire generation of Marvel fans discovered the Avengers through EMH before the MCU popularized them globally. And Brian Bloom’s Cap performance is just as good as Chris Evans. He really feels like someone who you want to impress in the direst of circumstances.
I can't remember if I watched those Utimates movies (specifically the second one with Ultron) first, but God was it a seminal cartoon in my childhood. "It was a day unlike any other."
Thank you for pointing out what makes Cap great here in Brian Bloom's performance. Every Cap comic that I read will forever and always have Bloom's amazing voice on it and it will always be the best voice.
I'm from a french speaking country, watched EMH in its original dub but listened to the french one with my niece (she was 5 at that time), Cap's french voice was great, it sounded soft but one with authority. Like this idea of the calm man you don't want to disapoint or anger. Not as great as Bloom, but that's good from a modern french cast perspective.
What's also fascinating is, despite his flaws and being a villain, the dedication of Zemo. The moment Cap was confirmed to still be alive, he not only leaves HYDRA, the group where he was basically the top dog and could've helped him with its resources, but he simply doesn't care about coming back. A man of the old school, the personification of America, what it should be. Yes, his idealism can be annoying and repulsive, but I believe that it is precisely such characters who can send the law and many other things just for the sake of justice and honor that can change the world and the hearts of other people. I'm Italian, cap isn't my favorite hero but I can certainly say he is a icon, even if the creator of the boys think he is a joke. I think is a inspiration, a man who can be a legend, who can be a hero and a better person because he can inspire you to be more kind
>even if the creator of the boys think he is a joke Tbh, Garth Ennis (said creator of the boys) is far more of a joke. 99% of the average Garth Ennis story is just a 13 year old edgy teen who just learned to swear levels of writing, and disgustingly copious amounts of rape. Thus, the only time he actually wrote something halfway compelling is when he was given The Punisher (an already edgy character) to write with, and i'm 99% sure his editor had to block out a lot of Ennis's shitty ideas (rape, rape, and more rape) Hell, that The Boys show succeeded is in spite of Ennis, not because of him. Show Soldier Boy is a far better critique/pastiche of Cap than Comics Soldier Boy ever was for example.
I'm so glad that EMH gave a at least more accurate depiction of the Avengers coming together and Cap not being a founder. I'm glad this show and the Ultimate Avengers movies gave us Captain America where he was largely absent from the 90s tv shows where both he and Thor only made cameos. Great video you got a new subscriber.
I agree this is the best animated version of captain america I've seen and for this coming out not long before his first mcu movie it was a awesome time to be a cap fan and they did the man out of time thing great whoever did the writing for his character should have got a award 10|10
This show is why I love Captain America. I loved this show as a kid, and, as I've gotten older and dived deeper into comics, I've realized how peak it truly is. I thoroughly believe that this show is the best comic book adaptation because of how much better it is than it's source.
This show also had the perfect adaptation of Thor. In the MCU he is treated as a moronic frat boy. However in Mightiest Heroes he treated as a man from another culture/world. He sees things the way a 3rd world foreigner may see the everyday in a 1st world country. Everything is new, but similar in some ways. He's curious and has genuine desire to learn more. He can be aggressive, but is usually jovial first like MCU Thor, but waaaay less dude bro and more regal with how he treats people. He and Black Panther even have an episode where they discuss the burden of ruling. Overall I think this the best Thor has been represented and I hope the MCU gets a clue.
This is why Captain America is my favorite superhero. He succeeded in his own battle when others fail. The others are who I am, Captain America is who I want to be.
This show was the JLU of marvel for me, what a great adaptation of characters and storylines. I wish that current superhero movies post endgame had a little more substantial interactions between characters. Like cap and hulk having a moment of conversation of value, no quips or anything just true character in action. Great vid man!
I can’t believe I was the prime audience of this show. That being young kids on Disney channel. I wish I was slightly older so I could’ve properly enjoyed it (I was 5 when it came out). Glad you brought that deep memory back out of me.😊
EMH is literally one of my favorite pieces of media. Period. It gave us some great representations of all the avengers and shined some light on characters that didn't get a whole lot before.
I miss this show, it had great action, comedy, characters and an awesome theme song. I hope the rumor about this show coming back turns out to be true.
My favorite scene is from the Gamma World episode where he shames Iron Man into leading lol. Iron Man tries to get Black Panther to walk into the gamma irradiated area first and Cap stops BP then tells Iron Man that leaders lead.
I love this series and I especially love how they're not afraid to go a different route than the MCU, which was still building up to Avengers (2012) when EMH was running. I'm glad the show had slightly different takes on the characters and lore than MCU and it makes it all the more charming and unique
I love how well-planned AEMH was They show Kang mid first season, where he claims that Captain America will destroy the Earth At first, this obviously sounds like a lie Skip forward to season 2, where a Skrull disguised as Cap is pulling Earth into the Skrull-Kree war, making Kang somewhat right
Ngl I’m happy this vid popped up on my feed, EMH is one of my favorite western animations, I enjoy this show to the point that I still watch it every now and then when I’m drawing or hanging out somewhere
One of my favorite things about this show is that they gave respect to every character that they put in. Even the ones that were generally lame were a threat.
Just gonna say this here, a character arc is just as important as the character having that arc. Even more so if it isnt an established IP. Hollow "He always wins" settups can only take you so far.
“Who am I? I had almost forgotten myself. But I am not lucky enough to forget forever; to forget that I was once the man the world called...Captain America!" 😎 -from “The Avengers” #4, 1963
My favourite captain America that really made me like and care for the character is him talking to spider man regarding actions and that people don’t determine who you are you do and I really like that.
Besides the comics, Earth Mightiest Heroes is still the best Avengers content ever made imo. It's a shame a lot of Marvel's best animated stuff had to cancelled or forced to finish early to cater for MCU. We were on a good run with Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine & The X-Men.
There's an even easier to spot clue that what Cap saw in Niflheim was just an illusion and not the actual souls of his fallen comrades. Cap says it's because Bucky isn't there but, considering we know Cap wished for Bucky to have survived the war, I like to think some small part of him, deep down in his subconscious knew he'd wished Bucky back with the Cosmic Cube. Though, like monkey's paw wish, because Cap made his at the same time Baron Struker did, both their wishes melded into one, Bucky surviving the war but becoming Red Skull's plan for Hydra to win the war, but the best chance not coming til Cap was back. So, the clue that really told Cap, even if he didn't realise it, that what he was seeing were fake images? Logan was among the dead. In Captain America's intro episode of EMHA, one of the soldiers on Cap's team is very clearly a pre Wolverine Logan. Like, ot couldn't be more obvious if they'd had someone call him as fierce as a Wolverine while he was in that episode. And we clearly see Wolverine in the season 2 episode where Kang makes one final effort to win by rewriting time, so, Logan showing up in the realm of the dead? Not possible when he's still alive. Now, the man Logan was during the war is technically dead, yes, as most of his memories from that war are long gone with so many others, never to be properly restored, but the man himself is not dead, so was very obviously an illusion created to trick Cap. Bucky clued him in, but Logan's being there clued us the audience in
I really agree with the parallel you made at the end about Cap and Superman occupying a similar sort of space as far as heroes go. They're supposed to represent the best of the people they protect, and they absolutely do have flaws and shortcoming and struggles, but flaws are supposed to stop short of straight up corruption. This interpretation of Cap (and pretty much all the characters) is easily one of the best versions and introducing him with villains like Zemo was a fantastic way to get into the meat of his origin and past without having to do a whole retelling or going over the parts we've seen a dozen times.
18:05 I love that the fact that both Bucky and Logan aren’t there, implies that these aren’t just mind tricks, these could actually be his old team members.
I love Caps build This version, I can believe he's a supersoldier Same thing with Thor. You see AEMH Thor and you believe he's strong enough to fight Hulk
I just want to say I enjoy your videos immensely, they are great, filled with heart and soul. I am glad you chose to focus on the EMH series as it was creatively outstanding. I also enjoy your take on Superman and Spider-Man, but in general I just would like to thank you for putting together such an interesting, entertaining and uplifting bunch of stuff. Well done sir.
15:07 my favorite Cap moment in anything. Movies, comics, shows. This is my favorite. Not just the writing but the acting by Brian Bloom is so damn genuine as Captain America in this show, that I still believe he’s the best Captain America we’ve ever had in media outside of comics. Yes, better than Chris Evans. He has that grandiose sound you’d expect from the barrel chested cap but at no point does it feel inorganic.
I would have love to see more Solo Captain America adventures instead of just being a full time Avengers all the time. I wish the showed all the Avengers in their personal lives.

Avengers Earth's Mightest Heroes is the best adaptation of the WHOLE Marvel Universe. PERIOD.
This is definitely one of my favorite animated shows
I'm Italian, cap isn't my favorite hero but I can certainly say he is a icon, even if the creator of the boys think he is a joke. I think is a inspiration, a man who can be a legend, who can be a hero and a better person because he can inspire you to be more kind
>even if the creator of the boys think he is a joke
Tbh, Garth Ennis (said creator of the boys) is far more of a joke. 99% of the average Garth Ennis story is just a 13 year old edgy teen who just learned to swear levels of writing, and disgustingly copious amounts of rape. Thus, the only time he actually wrote something halfway compelling is when he was given The Punisher (an already edgy character) to write with, and i'm 99% sure his editor had to block out a lot of Ennis's shitty ideas (rape, rape, and more rape)
Hell, that The Boys show succeeded is in spite of Ennis, not because of him.
I agree this is the best animated version of captain america I've seen and for this coming out not long before his first mcu movie it was a awesome time to be a cap fan and they did the man out of time thing great whoever did the writing for his character should have got a award

EMH in general is so peak
15:24 That right there is the essence of Captain America. He saw the best in people.
This show is hands down the perfect adaptation and didn't deserve to be canceled. Screw brand Synergy we need variety
I always loved rewatching EMH and putting the pieces together in the Kang story arc. The foreshadowing was awesome.
As much as I love MCU Cap, EMH Cap will always be the definitive version of the character.
Great vid man!
im so happy my youtube algorithm always shows me small youtubers that make fire vids
I can’t believe I was the prime audience of this show. That being young kids on Disney channel. I wish I was slightly older so I could’ve properly enjoyed it (I was 5 when it came out). Glad you brought that deep memory back out of me.😊
Holy shit, a video about Earth's Mightiest Heroes! I watched this show when I was a literal child.
EMH is literally one of my favorite pieces of media. Period. It gave us some great representations of all the avengers and shined some light on characters that didn't get a whole lot before.
Criminal that the show ended
BRILLIANT VIDEO, I CANNOT PRAISE YOU HIGHLY ENOUGH. THANK YOU 👍🏿 JUNIOR FROM LONDON 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇯🇲🇯🇲
EMH was my everything as a kid!! and my god that opening theme is so peak. so sad it had only 2 seasons
The fact that he kicked thor and the fact that thor felt the kick is crazy 😂
~the hulk interaction & the spider man one as well were great !
Earths mightiest hero’s is pure gold - from theme song to end credits. There’s very few episodes that are even mediocre.
I love this series and I especially love how they're not afraid to go a different route than the MCU, which was still building up to Avengers (2012) when EMH was running. I'm glad the show had slightly different takes on the characters and lore than MCU and it makes it all the more charming and unique
12:24 Hulk is so badass and hardcore, he don't need no space suit!
I love how well-planned AEMH was
They show Kang mid first season, where he claims that Captain America will destroy the Earth
At first, this obviously sounds like a lie
Skip forward to season 2, where a Skrull disguised as Cap is pulling Earth into the Skrull-Kree war, making Kang somewhat right
I love how within 5 days this became your channels most popular video. Well done my friend.
this video was awesome, gave me a new perspective on Captain America after enjoying Chris Evans depiction of him a lot
This show and captain America the first Avenger are what made cap my favorite avenger
-So the godess of death is Hela, right?
-Yes, she is.
-So that means her realm is called Helhei-
-Niflheim.
They need to bring the show back and cross it over with X-Men 97 and the new Spider-Man next coming out
I love that show. One of my childhood favorites that still hits to this day.
Great video on Captain America. EMH is my favorite series. The writing was awesome
This is my new favorite UA-cam channel lol. Love your video essays
Just gonna say this here, a character arc is just as important as the character having that arc. Even more so if it isnt an established IP. Hollow "He always wins" settups can only take you so far.
EMH was my god damned childhood. Easily the best avengers show we ever got.
2:38 never ever everrrrrrrr knew zemo was like this
0:29 that has to be Wolverine to the left, he did know Steve in WW2
God, I miss this show. I used to watch it with my dad when I was younger.
“Who am I? I had almost forgotten myself. But I am not lucky enough to forget forever; to forget that I was once the man the world called...Captain America!" 😎
-from “The Avengers” #4, 1963
Bucky clued him in, but Logan's being there clued us the audience in
Fr loves this show so much, skrull invasion has to be top 5 arcs in marvel cartoons
Please make a part 2 for this! 🙏
This show had a seriously banging opening
I really agree with the parallel you made at the end about Cap and Superman occupying a similar sort of space as far as heroes go. They're supposed to represent the best of the people they protect, and they absolutely do have flaws and shortcoming and struggles, but flaws are supposed to stop short of straight up corruption. This interpretation of Cap (and pretty much all the characters) is easily one of the best versions and introducing him with villains like Zemo was a fantastic way to get into the meat of his origin and past without having to do a whole retelling or going over the parts we've seen a dozen times.
I loved the wolverine cameo and how they snuck that in.
This avengers show did every hero and villain so perfectly that I don’t think any other adaption can surpass. This was the only captain America to me!
18:05
I love that the fact that both Bucky and Logan aren’t there, implies that these aren’t just mind tricks, these could actually be his old team members.
really good character analysis.
Im so glad people are still talking about this show
Just subscribed to this channel I miss Averages EMH 3000
I need to watch this show. i can't believe I haven't seen it
I love Caps build
This version, I can believe he's a supersoldier
Same thing with Thor.
I love how when hydra is defeated he's not annoyed that he wasn't the one to do it,he's just glad that hydra is defeated at all
Damn I loved this show as a kid. Totally forgot it existed.
Very grateful i grew up watching the show
15:07 my favorite Cap moment in anything.
Wow what a great video, you should do a analysis of all the avengers in this show.
You might want to tune in this Wednesday then 😊
This was the best Avengers cartoon hands down. Captain America is my favorite superhero 🫡
ASSEMBLED WE ARE STRONG…
we need this back
EMH is the best adaptation of Marvel content. It's a shame it only got 2 seasons. Cap, Hulk, and Hawkeye shine here brighter than any other recent outing imo
