Keep in mind, the Five stars are based on my needs for this item ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS When I first bought the bike I was going to return it immediately. After trying it out for several days/weeks I came to realize it is actually perfect for WHY I bought it.This is not a workout, the resistance is, eh, it makes a bit of noise, not loud, and it isn’t very stable even with the mat. The mat certainly keeps the bike from sliding but nothing keeps the mat from sliding (if that makes any sense, lol). Mine is place on my hard wood floor. Maybe it would be better with a rug underneath??I sit for long hours for work and wanted something to keep my legs moving. This bike does exactly that! For the price it is amazing, it is compact, easy to use, light weight, keeps track of time, calories etc (not sure how accurate it is) but good little product. I am happy with it.
You'll also notice he has to use two different smith machines in this video to complete all the exercises. Most gyms don't have the smith machine that goes all the way to floor.
Doesn't show intelligence at all to hinder your proper range of motion. I'm here because I have no choice but to use a Smith machine (that's all my apartment gym has unfortunately), but it's far worse.
I put a plyo box at my feet to elevate them to the height of my shoulders when I use the Smith machine for glute raises so I get a full range of motion. I currently prefer this rather than having my feet on the floor.
It's been 2 months Brett. I elevated myself on a wood rogue box longwise. Put a hack squat pad on top of it underneath me to lay on. Put a 50 lb kettlebell in front of my head to avoid box tilt and I finally was able to do "back of the heel" Reverse Hypers and the hold at the top is brutal!
Wow! Just wow! Thanks for the many ideas for glutes. I'm a man and maybe people would say it's strange but I like doing glutes since squat is not useful for me for glutes. I need concentrated exercises. Thanks again!
Ashley Nicole I know I'm a little late, but is the book beginner friendly? And does it tell you how train the rest of the body while focusing on the glutes so you don't become imbalanced? I'm having a bit of trouble finding that out online
I get confused on which way to face when the Smith is not vertical, but slanted. I noticed you faced both directions depending on the exercise. Is there a method to your madness?
Think about which way your body will be moving when you do that specific exercise. When you squat, you naturally hinge at the waist and your shoulders will move forward, over your toes. Set yourself in the rack accordingly. A little bit of trial and error experimentation with low or no weight will make it pretty obvious, pretty quickly. Hope that is helpful.
When using a slanted smith machine is there a rule of thumb to tell which way to face for any given exercise? I notice you change depending on the exercise. Does it matter at all, or only for some exercises?
Look at the video again and see how its slanted and how Bret positions his body and with certain exercises. Im taking notes so I can do this in the gym. I saw a Smith Machine today but I wasn't sure what I could do because of how it is slanted. Now I see.
I'm just gonna do the hip thrusts and deadlifts. And move on to a corner somewhere. 😂😂😂 I mean I'm vain, but have trouble advertising my vanity. If I had a home gym with a mirror I'd probably stay in front of it dancing and watching my every move. 💃💅🏋️✌️😘
Thank u thank u thank u I've been doing regular and single leg hip thrusts on the Smith for over a year now and have been looking for some new glute exercises to throw in. Also have been looking for a way to do reverse hypers that i can feel in the glutes more than hams I'm gonna try this.. what is the benefit of frog thrusts vs hip thrusts never heard of them?
Lol. I already do not like the smith machine, because its out in the middle in front pf the mirrors, so I dang sure ain't gonna do all of that. 😂😂😂 But that's awesome. Thats a total gym for your home.
Mannn I’ve trying to avoid the gym and now everyone’s saying smith machines are good. I have my squat rack Olympic bar and plates dumbbells and hack squat bar and treadmill at home . Is it equally effective using regular free weight ?
It's come to my attention that I've been using the smith machine wrong lmao. For the people asking how to tell which way to face if the machine is slanted, that was my problem too. I hurt my back because I was facing the wrong way 😢 noob probs

And a good morning to you Bret!
You'll also notice he has to use two different smith machines in this video to complete all the exercises. Most gyms don't have the smith machine that goes all the way to floor.
Nor do they have an angled smith machine which makes 2/3 of these exercises possible.
Did the hip ups on smith machine today, and it was so much easier to set up and do on my own vs. using the barbell on a bench! Thank you!
Exactly. And much safer! Less can go wrong. Infact almost nothing can go wrong!
I love using the Smith machine for my workouts. I am already doing some of these exercises and I'll add the others to my routine. thank you
Wow! Lotsa ideas/exercises to implement into my next leg workout. Thanks Bret !!
I've never used a Smith Machine so thank you BRET 🙏.
Can't say I like all the exercises but using a Smith machine to workout shows intelligence over ego always a great change of pace for any gym .

Awesome video. Hip punch, reverse hyper, etc. This is awesome. One of my favorite videos by far.
Just picked up his Strong Curves book and planning to start the routine in it tomorrow!! Like this video since my gym only has smith machines.

Karma.Cordelia INTL yes it is!! It’s amazing! Look me up on FB if you want the Strong APP workout files of his workout.
Beau Bikker Hello, do you still offer to give a a copy? If so, may I look you up?
Really good workout , directly to my favourites!
👏 👏 Well done. Very informative.

same, which way should i face?

Can't wait to try some of these! Thanks!
Thanks for another great video Brett.
Amazing! I will try some moves! Thanks Bret!

Sixtus Beckmesser great question

Me tooo lol

Great vid. Thumbs up on the beard, looks great! More beard!
Damn looking forward to trying the reverse hyper and I will try to keep 90 degree form.

I use a short elastic band to hold the hooks out of the way...
reverse hyper is new to me. gotta try it out

Good stuff!

Okay I need to turn around for squats 🤦♀️
Bret, can you please post a video on how to correctly perform the Australian hip thrust? Thanks.

Bret can be this a total glute day workout? (sorry my poor english)
Lol. I already do not like the smith machine, because its out in the middle in front pf the mirrors, so I dang sure ain't gonna do all of that. 😂😂😂 But that's awesome. Thats a total gym for your home.
My gym is the same I try to go when it’s empty😂 or I tie a hoodie around my waist with the sleeves hanging in front/middle
Mannn I’ve trying to avoid the gym and now everyone’s saying smith machines are good. I have my squat rack Olympic bar and plates dumbbells and hack squat bar and treadmill at home . Is it equally effective using regular free weight ?
I wish I have same body that you have
hi Bret 😭 so disappointed because I just found you
can you please tell me
which is the main squat and
how to do
I first
Any plans on competing in the future Bret?
Your article on T-nation helped me alot with my anterior pelvic tilt.
I got rid of it. Thanks man.
The Smith Machine is for safety when you don't want to smash yourself. Not all of us have spotters...
It's come to my attention that I've been using the smith machine wrong lmao. For the people asking how to tell which way to face if the machine is slanted, that was my problem too. I hurt my back because I was facing the wrong way 😢 noob probs
Based Bret
Wat a beast 💪💪💪
Do I need a helmet for #12
was that 90 lbs (45 lbs +45 lbs) on the smith machine hip thrust?
Lady Salad: Some smith bars are Zero-weighted (counter-balanced), so, may or may not be.
What's the difference between the hip thrust and frog thrust?
arrdubsmd heels are together. Look closely and you'll spot the foot position.
Do frog thrusts work the glutes better than hip thrusts?
Keep this staile
That american deadlift shit had me laughing like a maniac just why tf would anyone do that
