I have PTSD from being stalked in the past. I now live in an apartment complex that presents different challenges. People out of jobs, many questionable women with tons of kids, plus drug and prostitution problems there. There is a good reason when someone says to not mess with a person that has PTSD. I am being threatened every day by lose women who have ruined their future with questionable relationships. They band together, try to steal private information, will loudly harass you and on and on. A person with PTSD will make sure every time a harasser will not get what he or she wants. When PTSD is in full force then the person with PTSD does not care what they have to do to ensure their own security.
That’s exactly how I feel. If some mental case ever threatens my daughter snd the police won’t do anything to protect her, I’ll find whoever it is and run him over with my car.
Yeah, I do not let anyone close to me that is not within my family. And the enraged strangers that harass me every day with nasty nasty behavior and who know others who have joined against me the victim that has never done anything than just trying to survive and live her own little peaceful life, well those strangers are extremely aggressive low lives.
I have not been stalked, but I have been roughed up on the street by a stranger. It doesn't take much to imagine what it would be like if that man were stalking me. I'd never be able to go anywhere without looking over my shoulder. I would want to entrap him and shut him down.

Since, I've never heard of a person being harassed, every day of their life, by strangers..I do suspect there is a large part of the equation you are leaving out, blind to, and is blocking your ability to change your situation. Yes, that is true. My stalking case got the attention of corrupt security guards who are connected to corrupt cops. The fallout of the stalking case can be huge. Due to a very capable human being the stalker has not been able to connect to me personally. However, stalkers will continuously reach out by having friends deliver messages. The stalking victim has to deal with such messages which can be distressing. My stalker has always surrounded himself with women he can play easily like a fiddle. He feeds on their insecurities and uses them as weapons. Often it is what you do not see that is the most dangerous.

I know exactly how that goes. A victim has many conflicting thoughts about her stalker. It comes with the territory. Sorrow for the stalker plays a role, sorrow for a certain life situation that just did not pan out, sorrow too for the stalker if that person was a friend, understanding of the deep psyche of the stalker and still understanding him the stalker very well and what goes through his mind. And the shock of being attacked by the stalker when everything goes haywire. I myself went through many stages with my stalker in which I had to approach the situation in a myriad of different ways. To this day I still understand his reasons and I know how furious he the stalker gets when whichever life he chooses is not in sync with his wishes and dreams. When the reality in the life of the stalker is limping far behind of the the what could have beens. And that is completely aside from all the nasty dirty lies jealous females, who happened to get wind of the stalking, invent to discredit everything about the stalking.
They are often themselves enabling a stalkers attempts. There was a huge kind of jealousy going on in a group of males, security officers and cops, I reported my own stalking to. Jealous of so many weird things, for not themselves as men being able to get close to me, for not being able to discredit me after their miserable failing to protect me the victim. Those law people that also banded together, against the victim, I found out later were just a part of a huge corrupt group of law enforcement gangs themselves. The guys who were supposed to protect the victim just tried to use the stalking as a way of themselves getting close to a victim, and those guys themselves were involved in a dirty undercover red light district ring anyways. Just stupid disgusting stuff no normal private citizens would ever get involved in.
How does someone ever get over that? They must have nightmares and ptsd the rest of their lives. I would constantly be looking over my shoulder forever. Horrible!

It's infuriating that people who are victims of being stalked are told by law enforcement that they can't do much unless you have been harmed how many victims have been murdered because of that ridiculous nonsense. If someone is stalking you to the point you fear for your life that is when they should be arrested. It's gross the way stalkers try to take your sense of peace away. The stories I've read or seen shows of people being stalked for years and years are terrifying no one should go through that.

This is why women need to learn to defend themselves. Weather they get their concealed carry license,take some form of martial arts,learn to disarm an armed attacker. You shouldn’t have to be afraid In your own home. The police can’t always protect us. Like they said they couldn’t do anything till he touched her. Which is horrible. One day I was coming out of the local library and as I was walking down the street a guy began walking in lockstep with me, like an inch away from me, making me very uncomfortable. I recognized him from my high school gym class. We called him Weird Shawn because he had icy blue eyes and just stared through people. He said hi, I said 'um, hi...', then he says 'will you be my girlfriend?'. I don't even remember how I got rid of him. Didn't stalk me, but definitely the creepiest experience ever. Also, I heard of a stalking victim use the code "So's (SOS), how's it going?" when she needed help. She had pre-arranged it with all of her friends and family and they knew to call 911.

It's not police, it's the law that they are working with from what I understand. Also, it was amazing that officer called her to say he was missing.

Yes, PTSD, and to this day, 11 years later, I am attacked every day by horrible jealous females who harass me about me being stalked.
I remember watching her story being reenacted on Rescue 9-1-1. You can hear her whole 911 phone call.

This is why as a woman, I just want to be left alone...no approaches, no flirts, nothing. Less I have to deal with. Not saying all guys do this but I just want to live my life in peace, not cause anyone else trouble or have anything done to me.

up to my work and some would follow me in their cars when I’d go for walks on the beach.

She should have food delivered that is just left on a doorstep...I don't trust food delivery men, contractors etc- I live in a dangerous neighborhood so I don't talk to men who stop and I try not to be seen here so they don't know where I live. It is a dangerous world for us. Even in the NICEST and SMALLEST towns. Be safe!

Yes, I know how she feels. I myself during the me being stalked had the same instincts. Talking to the stalker in person, can it rectify a dangerous situation? Or can such a situation only further the danger. Someone that has never been stalked has no idea how complicated such a situation is.
Wow stalking is on the rise. Sad that someone is delusional to the point of watching you. Its sad that someone is so desperate to intrude into there victims life. I think we live in a new society of stalking, its done through our devices/social media. To all people who are pursuing someone/giving someone unwanted attention...... Get yourself some help. Learn how to get real love in a HEALTHY way!

One day I was coming out of the local library and as I was walking down the street a guy began walking in lockstep with me, like an inch away from me, making me very uncomfortable. I recognized him from my high school gym class. We called him Weird Shawn because he had icy blue eyes and just stared through people. He said hi, I said 'um, hi...', then he says 'will you be my girlfriend?'. I don't even remember how I got rid of him. Didn't stalk me, but definitely the creepiest experience ever.
Also, I heard of a stalking victim use the code "So's (SOS), how's it going?" when she needed help. She had pre-arranged it with all of her friends and family and they knew to call 911.

I saw a show on TV several years ago about a woman who got anti stalking laws passed in California. What am I missing? Those laws have been effect for quite a few years now.

My point was that this woman in the show was not the first person who got anti stalking laws passed in California.

@Dannydolan88 he is in jail right now, due to the stalking. Restraining order etc. Didn’t help. He would stand infront of my house. Last time he tried to come in. They locked him up.. but the question is for how long.
He is someone who used to visite my church. He has schizophrenia.
Voices in his head tell him I’m his woman etc. It’s awfull. It has giving me so much anxiety that i started to disscociate / derealisation. That’s where i started to lose myself. It gave me ptsd. Thank you for asking
Our daughter was, but he was refrained, & hopefully he stays away. Our daughter, is very empowered, extra careful now.
