I watched them filming this in Toronto. The mini cooper chase was filmed at the Yonge St. and King St. intersection downtown. Saw Sandler and Dinklage for second while doing in between shots. I stood on Melinda St. and watched for about an hour. Really cool how things get filmed and they put it all together.

Definitely one of the best Adam Sandler movies out there. I'm still traumatized by what happened to Qbert at the end. Most tragic part of the movie.

I honestly can't even tell you how refreshing it is to see you guys give a positive reaction to this movie. Lol, I was one of the few people that genuinely liked Pixels when it first came out. Glad to see more people actually appreciate it for what it is, which is a fun sci-fi action-adventure (à la Independence Day) that's also a love-letter to all the 80's arcade games that were brilliantly brought to life. It's not the best film in the world or anything and it's far from perfect, but as far as Adam Sandler films go, this is without question one of his better movies.
I agree I also unironically liked this movie I enjoyed it I do think it's one of Adam Sandler's better movies not his best obviously but still I thought it was good

I liked it also, too many people only want to watch top 10 movies now and it’s so boring being like that.
The character was Max Headroom, massive in the 80s for a while. The robot was Grunt (I believe) from the Robotron game. I also couldn’t believe you kept saying cube instead of pixel. Things weren’t being turned into cubes, they were being pixelated.
It also looks like eminem in Rap god

Sarcasm aside, the Max Headroom signal hijacking incident in 1987 was wild. I wasn't old enough to know about it when it happened but learning about it and watching it later was a trip. I never saw the 1985 original.

I love Pixels. Such an underrated movie.
And to think this film is directed by the same guy who directed films, such as ‘Home Alone 1 & 2’, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, the first two films of the ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise, and the first ‘Percy Jackson’ film. ‘Pixels’ is a guilty pleasure of mine, really. I saw it twice when it first came out in theaters, and I absolutely loved it. Looking at it now, I love it just as much now as I did back then. Definitely one of my favorite films from 2015❤️

It's entertaining and fun, which is truly all that matters.
The soundtrack is really good and the nostalgia around the video games makes me feel all fuzzy and warm with great childhood memories of going to video game arcades in the late 70's thru the 80's.
And this is just my own personal opinion but this is my 2nd favorite Adam Sandler movie (after Happy Gilmore).

Creepy blonde animated guy is Max Headroom. He was in a lot of commercials (I still vividly remember a Coke commercial) and shows in the 80s. He had a very Jim Carrey energy.

27:15 - No, that was not the actual Turu Iwotani..... however, Turu DOES have a cameo in this movie. He's the Japanese man working on one of the games during the 1982 tournament scene. He wasn't given a speaking role, as he doesn't speak English.
I am NOT an Adam Sandler fan, but Pixels was a lot better than I expected. And they didn't wuss out on having top notch effects.

37:18 IT'S MAX HEADROOM!! Which... isn't a video game. The only thing I can think is for some reason the tape they sent to space included a commercial break with 80s mascots in it? Max Headroom was kinda like what "Face" used to be for nick jr. or the Crypt Keeper. He would just show up between TV shows and tell you what was coming on next. I forget what channel he was a mascot for. This is coming from someone born in 91 btw, so I barely remember most of that stuff.

Tara, was the show you were thinking of with Josh Gad called Avenue 5 with Hugh Laurie -- they are on a cruise spaceship stalled out in space? Josh Gad was the zany owner of the company I believe, CEO or something and Hugh Laurie was the Captain of the ship but really wasn't a Captain but like an actor because the ship and the crew takes care of everything. I found it funny despite it not being great, I still couldn't stop watching it 😂

Very fun to watch! Just good vibes. To be honest I know Pixels more second-hand accounts than first-hand, but its style looks quite nice.

The person who played young Eddie was infact not de-aged Peter Dinklage, just another little person! The joke of "not all little people are the same" really related to me because whenever my mother sees another little person (as I am a little person myself), she automatically thinks I know them
I don't about anywhere else, but here in Jersey there is a small chain of arcades that regularly hold tournaments. It's mostly fighting games, but yeah, video game tourneys still exist.
The good parts are good and the bad parts are hilarious, overall a really fun movie

This has always been one of my favorite Sandler's, even with its bad track record its among those movies that are so cheesy they become extremely charming and peak and being a retro gamer it was incredibly enjoyable while being hilarious as we'll. A masterpiece of filmmaking truly a classic.
