I love Grown Ups. The scene where the guys start laughing at Rob’s singing, is probably my favorite scene in the film. It’s even funnier knowing that it was unscripted. The guys legitimately were laughing their asses off! I definitely need to revisit Grown Ups some time soon! 😁😁
One of my favourite comedy’s ever , the loose-narrative and constant improv from Sandler and his friends just make this film feel so personal and raw. They genuinely feel like friends and family we get to hang with Over and over again.
RIP to Cameron Boyce who plays Adam Sandlers son in this movie. Passed away in his sleep due to a seizure in 2019. He was only 20yrs old but was such a talented young man. Felt like I grew up with him, he was definitely one of my favorite Disney channel stars❤️🙏🏾
This movie was my first Adam Sandler movie, and I love the guy so this always holds a special place in my heart. It's also one of the most relatable movies out there. Except the part where he throws the game, cause I would've dunked on the man
Man I wish more movies like this would play nowadays. Just a sit back and relax film and see a bunch of friends have a fun time. Have a couple laughs, and that’s it. I don’t care how bad it is on a plot or acting level. I love this movie
One of my fav Adam Sandler movies!! It's Rob Schneider over the top rendition of Ave Maria & David Spade loudly making buzzard sound in response for me🤣🤣🤣
I always quote Grown Ups when I want to emphasize how a movie doesn't have to be genuinely artistic or bringing some deep reflexion to be a great one. And Grown Up is hands down a great piece of comedy, especially with the sequel. It's all fun, but it's not excessive as well. And the pacing is pretty well done while the stakes are not that high. You feel good while watching it, and you feel good afterward.
I think the obstacle was Adam Sandler's character and his family getting back to his roots and him showing his kids a more humble lifestyle than they were used to. I think the comedy is so good because it feels so natural and true to life. One of my favorite comedies.
Being able to to do a movie like this with your best friends must have been the time of their damn lives. It's so funny and cute and heart-warming and not too overly-Sandler if that makes any sense lol Love this one!
Fun fact: they planned to do a movie with a Adam Sandler and his crew from grown ups vs will Ferrel and his crew playing in a Football game against each other, but it never ended up happening for some reason
Grown ups 2 is easily one of my favourite movies all time and possibly the funniest movie ever. I hope you two watch that next 😂 Edit: the raft scene in the K-Mart is my all time favourite scene in a comedy movie. I’m 100% biased lol
I find myself loving this movie bcs it reminds me of the times my family would get together, and seeing the growns up (at the time) hanging together and while I spent time with all my cousins. The waterparks and lakes stuff really brings me back to those memories, so this movies hits home for me
Sadly with the passing of Cameron Boyce, I don't think they would continue with a third movie; they're just laid back enjoyable movies, easy to leave on your tv
Fun facts In Grown up’s 2, during the Kmart scene it was filmed in Tewksbury mass. Right down the street from my house and I worked right next door so I was able to watch everything lol And the bus scene was filmed on clark road, I took that everyday to school. I love watching it over and seeing my childhood in a film 😅 Also, that day (so fans wouldn’t follow the film crew) they got Peter Dante to stay behind and sign autographs. He was wicked nice :) i was able to get a quick photo with him David spade messed with the crowd a little bit and the rest of the crew was definitely busy filming. You could see shaq from a hundred feet away lol Always fond memories when I watch those movies
If you just hear her commentary in isolation. She just said negative things, covered her face, she is not someone i would like to go for a movie with. It would be painful
It’s been 25 years since the passing of the great Chris Farley. He would’ve been great in these movies he would’ve played the part Kevin James played for sure !!
The Grown Ups movies are the MOST nostalgia-inducing films for me. My brothers and I would watch them at least 5 times every summer. Pleaaase watch the second Grown Ups too. It's so good!
this is one of my favorite family comedy movies. maybe i shouldn't say family since this probably isn't suitable for kids cause of the adult jokes but when i was a kid, i didn't understand half of the jokes in this movie lol
For a guy like me in my 50’s the dream is to have Chris Farley in this movie. Kevin James is dope but Farley would’ve taken a Buddy movie like this to another level. Loved this review Sally and Greg.
As someone who watched Tommy Boy and 90s era SNL reruns religiously, I gotta agree. Kevin James is really funny in this role but even he probably knows he's there because Farley couldn't be. Which is a tragedy.
I can't believe you guys don't understand the reason why Roxanne use the excuse she forgot how to skip rock to let her family stay with everyone. It's the first time she see her kids out in nature playing with friend instead of play video game so she want to let them stay
Actually, it wasn't an excuse, she saw how her sons were having fun with the children of her husband's friends, and then she got happy because of how she liked what she was seeing like any other mother would do, and when Eric's daughter Donna asked her if she knew how to skip rocks and she told her that she was good at it, she thought she could play around with the children, but when she saw how she accidentally threw a rock into the belly of her son Greg, she actually felt bad, and she decided to let her family stay at the lake house with the others because of the children.
Interesting to note: Originally, this movie was meant to be released in the 90s with Chris Farley in the role (now given to Kevin James). But since Farley died in 1997, Grown Ups was shelved for over a decade until Sandler and crew decided to release it over a decade later.
Chris, Kevin, David, Adam and Rob and a few others are all friends irl and that’s why you see them in most movies together Adam brought them onto his company so they could do more things together
Me and my brother in law actually did the arrow roulette about 25 years ago, in a populated city..no houses for 6-7 blocks in front of us. Shot it..lost it..ran in house..a few minutes later found it about 1 block away. Horrible idea but no one died😉
It's so uncomfortable watching young people react to older movies. They get offended by every joke. Processing what cancel culture would and would not allow now. This was probably not the person to watch comedy with.
Always thought Grown Ups was universally hated but it seems like it was only the high brow critics. This isn't a classic in cinema but it is highly rewatchable and easy to watch

Rest In Peace Cameron Boyce who played Adam Sandler's youngest son in this movie. He tragically died in his sleep back in 2019
I always wanna cry when I see him. 😭
So sad he truly was a special star in the universe
Rip to Cameron

You want to know something, Cameron Boyce died five days after my 14th birthday on July 1st of the year 2019.
Grown Ups is easily one of the best comedies ever, cant tell you how many times ive watched this and still cracks me up to this day.
😂😂
makes me feel nostalgic I think that is one reason why this film is so universally liked

Part 2 felt a lot more forced, scripted, and childish imo. Two great movies tho “this guys doing 12 backflips” hahaha
I dont think the movies are funny but I definitely have a great time watching them even if the second one was really forced but still fun at least
The first is better but I get it
Def not the funniest but to each their own
I love this movie! Respect to Adam Sandler for always looking out for his friends.
He isn't, you are. Good lord americans are brainwashed.
These movies are legendary, definitely check out the sequel!😂

The "mean" guy at the top of the slide at the water park is sportscaster Dan Patrick. He is in most, if not all, of Sandler's comedies.
"I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" is also really funny, with alot of the same actors 🙂
Sadly with the passing of Cameron Boyce, I don't think they would continue with a third movie; they're just laid back enjoyable movies, easy to leave on your tv
