Most of this was actually filmed in Toronto. I was working downtown near King & Bay when they did the Mini-Cooper sequence. They had the whole stunt team driving in circles and drifting around through a few small side streets. Very awesome to see especially when I caught a glimpse of Peter Dinklage near one of the cars shortly after. Underrated movie, very funny and visually it was highly original. Great reaction.
Fun fact: Peter Dinklage's character was based on a real-world Pac Man cheater named Billy Mitchell. Unlike the movie, he still refuses to admit it in spite of irrefutable evidence against his score being legit.
Slight correction, Billy's record was on a modified Donkey Kong machine and he got caught years later. He still denies it because he's been milking this "record" for years making money on the falsehood, truly despicable man
@@rey_of_light-t1b Some games had "dev" codes where you move the joystick and button in a certain sequence during a part of the main menu to obtain some "cheats" which is what they used in order to test the machine and would often leave them in the program. In Billy Mitchell case, they used to send videotapes of gameplay that had broken records to a place that would certify them. In his case, he modified the rom of the arcade cabinet he used in order to gain an advantage and beat the record. This was originaly not caught because he had people helping making it seems official. It's a very complicated thing, but it was proven recently and he has been very angry about it ever since.
The guy fixing the arcade in the beginning of the movie is the actual inventor of PacMan. The guy playing him later in the movie is Denis Akiyama. Toru Iwatani (PacMan creator) was honored to do a cameo but felt his English wasn’t good enough to be in the movie so they put him in a non speaking part and cast someone as him.
I've never understood the rotten tomatoes score for this film. It's purpose is to be a good time, not be a cinematic masterpiece and you can't deny it succeeded
My son introduced this movie to me when he was younger. I was really surprised by it and loved it. This may not be considered one of Adam Sandler's best but I think it is a solid effort. Another movie of his that a lot of critics didn't enjoy is "8 Crazy Nights" Not a cinematic masterpiece by any stretch but still one that will tug at your heartstrings and something you can watch for Hanukkah. Also, his newest effort, "You're so not invited to my Bat Mitzvah" with his daughters is a solid effort. You may not be the target audience but I think you might like it.

This has got to be my favorite movie with video game references and Adam Sandler movie!! Love y'all's reaction as always!! It's been a rough week so thanks for making it better!! ❤
Its a really fun movie but its doesn't compare to Ready Player One. Maybe its because these games are actually a little early for me considering i was born in 84. I know them but never actually played them, other than pac-man.
The little girl in black hair in 4:39 is Sandlers daughter also y’all should watch the movie “ You are so NOT invited to my Bat mitzvah “. It’s Sandlers new movie starring his daughters as main characters
I love this movie, it's easily one of Sandlers most underrated movies. Fun fact this movie was shot entirety on Go pros, a first for a major release motion picture at the time. Critics and shill UA-camrs hate this movie, it's not perfect, but it is so much fun to watch. Thanks for reacting to it!
All on Go Pro? Crazy, especially when you consider how clean the shots were for the CG artists. Makes you think anyone with an idea can make something this quality.
I swear, I don't get why a lot of people hate this movie. It was one of my childhood movies that i fell in love with ever since the first time I watched it

In the original Donkey Kong arcade game, you couldn't get past the 22nd stage due to the way the game handled the timer. It caused the timer to get set to 4 seconds which is not enough time to clear the level.
I watched this in the theatres and it was so much fun, I took my mom, aunt, brother and cousin. They weren't sure they would love it and they ended up loving it so much we bought it on DVD.
Adam Sandler movies are always so much fun. A lot of them aren't considered "good" movies, but I sure have a good time and it seems like he has a great time making them with his friends.
That’s why my brother doesn’t like him very much because most of his films are pretty much him and his buddies messing around and getting paid to do it. I really enjoyed pixels when it came out (I also loved the grown ups films) but as I’ve gotten older I totally see where he was coming from.
Thanks for the honest react and review at the end, even though when I didn't like the movie I did enjoy this reaction. Like Mason said, not everybody loves Adam (or Will Ferell, I don't find him funny either but I loooooove his animated movie Megamind you should see it) , I'm among those that don't like him but I have enjoyed several of his movies. This was not entirely for me but I can say the visual effects here were amazing. I don't know what happened with the critics with this one. Awesome video as always!!
I was so excited to see you guys react to this movie. My husband and I love it. Growing up in the 80’s, it brought back a lot of great nostalgia for us. The Atari 2600 will always be my favorite gaming system.
interesting and cool that you guys really enjoyed this one - I remember it tanking hard when it came out and being critically destroyed - I mean, it still has a 18% rating on Rotten Tomatoes - glad you enjoyed it =)
Audiences got into a habit of expecting evey movie to be Citizen Kane and stopped enjoying the summer movies for just being fun. If people would stop taking everything so seriously and just, enjoy things, we'd be much better off.

I had to chuckle when you said the Pinball players were a different group. My friends and I played both pinball and video games. Kind of depended on which arcade we were at. Some of us crossed the aisle. LOL 😂
I actually enjoyed the nostalgia side of things and this movie did have some light humor. This was actually a movie that I invited some friends to watch for a movie night and they all enjoyed it too! Another Adam Sandler one I'd recommend to watch with Drew Barrymore as his co lead (again) is "Blended". One that even my siblings all enjoyed. The end credit song for that is adorable too. As for the critic review rant, I'd like to add on my thoughts. I do write reviews on the side for mainly restaurants. I've noticed that my few negative reviews have sadly gathered the most attention compared to any others. Yes, reviews do help the potential customer, if you will, to decide for themselves to try something out and can really affect the business and those who play a part in it. It can end up distheartening for those individuals who really try. That's why I try to instead spend more time recognizing those who do a fantastic job so they could also get that recognition, especially the servers who might have to deal with some negativity for where they are daily. Sorry for that little side rant. You guys are awesome and I enjoy watching for your reactions and insights. Pixels was a real treat. I need to watch it again soon!
I love this movie! It is great for the category of movie it falls in. It’s not trying to win an Oscar but it deserved better reviews than it received! I enjoyed the Mario movie but this movie does classic video games better! Also, just looked it up, the actor that plays the White House aide that Sandler called Blue Lagoon is actually Sandler’s real life nephew!
Something that I absolutely love about the dialogue in this movie is that if one character makes fun of another, they get back at them with the same wording they threw at them. 😂
Everyone I know who was a gamer kid in the 80s (myself included - class of '86) loved this movie. Everyone else, who didn't get the references, didn't get the jokes, didn't love the soundtrack, didn't seem to like it anywhere near as much. Sometimes it's good to be the specific target audience. For another great silly oft-overlooked movie with Peter Dinklage in it, I highly recommend "Knights of Badassdom".
Regardless of whether this movie is "good" it's fun imo and worth a watch. I love how the main character supposedly realizes the pattern in which enemies move but says it while playing pacman, a game in which all the AI does is follow the player and every now and then randomly turns left or right. No kidding, the pacman AI is insanely simplistic (every ghost simply moves towards the player at every turn except with a low chance turning in a random other direction, percentages for that being slightly different for each ghost). Sorry for the unprompted tangent, just needed to share XD
Not true. I forget the exact pattern but only one follows you, another aims for in front of you, another parallels you and I forget what the fourth did.
Pac Man did have a pattern, I remember following the same exact route as the ghosts acted the same way each time, for multiple levels Maybe newer releases of the classic game don't, but even emulators have the same patterns built into it I discovered.
Retro Game Mechanics Explained has a great video on how the ghosts actually behave, it's called 'Pac-Man Ghost AI Explained'. The ghosts don't directly follow the player, nor do they follow a pre-determined path.
I've never really hated any Adam Sandler movie, except maybe one where there were only two characters, don't even remember the name. For me, he's done great in his career.
There's a bar near where I live that my mom, my husband and I went to tonight (Oct. 6th) for my husband's birthday and the entire bar has arcade games, pinball machines, fast and furious racing games and it seems to be one of the most popular bars near where I live. Where I live is actually near Scranton in Pennsylvania (yes, the Office lol), and I even went there for my Bachelorette night. That's where I had learned about the place. They also have bar food and right now all their signature cocktails are all named after Mortal Kombat characters. We had a great time and my husband doesn't really like the bars near us because sometimes they get too packed and loud. He said he immediately felt better there than the bar we started at. Glad you guys did this one! I've been an Adam fan since I was a kid, one of my cousins is such a big Adam fan that she has most, if not all, of his movies on DVD and I went to her house ALL THE TIME growing up, so I got introduced to him pretty young. Can't wait to see more of your guys' reactions.
So y'all are my favorite reaction channel. It would be awesome to see you guys watch Les Miserables (2012). It's been in my mind quite a bit lately and I doubt all of you have seen it (if any)
I was surprised how much I liked this movie. It was so nostalgic to me. These were the games I grew up playing. I never look at critics reviews. They don’t know what a good movie is. I look at the audience scores. 👾
Okay, i now must draw your attention to the movie, The Italian Job. I recommend the remake with jason Statham, only cuz i haven't seen the first one, though it looks good. 26:20 It shows how badass mini coopers are
I first came across this movie when I was 11, saw the poster in a magazine. It was Pac-Man facing the four "ghost" cars. It was the coolest thing in that whole magazine.
I friggin' love your channel. Just found it a few days ago. We're going through some turbulent times here in Israel right now and I need something to take my mind off of reality for a while. Thank you for your hilarious videos, they always bring a smile to my face. May I suggest doing a series of Mel Brooks movies (if you haven't already)? Blazing Saddles, Men in Tights, Spaceballs?
Wreck-it-Ralph is the only other great movie with video games being the main storyline, I would love to see you guys react to that!! (if you haven't already)
I Loved this movie.... I'm an 80's child! Pac-Man, Centipede, Froger, were my favorite video games! Lol.....and I loved how "what's his name from prison, the Fire Blaster, cheater guy" got his Wish! A date with Serena and Martha Stewart! 😂 and the guy who got the "beautiful blonde lady" from Qubert! 🤣 and Adam got the girl! 😁👍
Really underrated movie!!! It's sad it didn't do better at the box office. My bf grew up in the 80s and knew each of these video games! We both loved it.
Loved how you guys recognised games from the 80s hehe! & agree an underrated film, but I bet gamers enjoyed it & I have fond memories of spending all my pocket money at the arcades & playing NES console for hrs with my brother as a kid.
I remember Galagy having a cheat. You had to dodge the bees for around 15 minutes, after that they will stop firing. Wait a few more waves (I can't remember how many) and then kill them. Afterwards the descending enemies won't fire at you anymore.
56:03 Mark! I'm Viewer #89,327! 🎉 4.4K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 BM guys, you're welcome, and thanks! 😊 Notes: In random order before I forget them, okay! Will Farrell? I haven't seen all of his movies yet, just like I haven't seen all of Adam Sandler's movies yet. But here's the difference for me. I tried to collect all of Adam's movies on DVD when I still belonged to a DVD club because of who he is. Why? Because one of the first covers had him aboard a ship. He was standing between two pretty girls who were in 👙 swimsuits and leaning over the guard rails to better show off their butts! ❤ (The "Sweetheart" icon is based on the shape of a girl's butt as she leans forward!) After I got that one, I tried to keep up. I have a John Wayne shelf, a Clint Eastwood shelf, a Westerns shelf for everyone else, a war movie shelf, a "Star Trek" shelf, and shelves for my favorite actresses, like Sandra Bullock, Hayley Mills, Drew Barrymore, and Jennifer Aniston! So some of Adam's movies are shelved by his female co-stars rather than because of him, as are my Will Farrell movies. I graduated high school and "PUB" in 1982 and from a vo-tech in 1983! 🎉🎉🎉 My brother had people watching him! Where he used a QD or two on a game, for me to get as far, I needed a roll of them! That must have contributed to me tendinitis and other physical issues I have. 😢 I haven't seen "Pixels" since it was new in movie theaters though I have the DVD, it remains sealed until I have someone to view it with. 😮 I remember older ladies being impressed by the flexibility of the blonde in the red dress, while their grandchildren were impressed by her sex appeal and what they saw when she did that one flip! 😂😅 I remember some being disappointed that the movie lived up to the title because they were hoping for a lifelike interpretation! 😮 "They don't look real! They look like cartoons!" The nerds offended by the first season of "The Big Bang Theory" were offended here too! "Why are they insulting us?!" 😮 If I had Jay Leno's wealth status, he and I would know each other in person, because we would be rivals at auctions! 😊 There would be "Mini Cooper" cars in my collection too! I would have a private video game arcade too! 😊 I don't understand why fun or funny movies don't get the respect of dramas! Why do we need to cry for it to be a "good movie"? 🤔 Bye-bye for now! Namaste! 🙏
I'm not a big fan of Adam Sandler, but I love this movie. I think my favorite part of it is Adam Sandler does not try to be center stage all the time. He lets others take the limelight quite often, so you get his comedy (which I don't like much) diluted a bit and it makes the movie a great watch.
Alright. I’m convinced I’m living in a simulation, I just mentioned to a friend how I love this movie even though everyone says it’s bad, then BLAM!! You guys are reacting to it, what are the odds?!
I really hope you guys watch DEATH AT A FUNERAL(the original English version) someday. It's the funniest movie you'll ever see and Peter Dinklage and Alan Tudink kill it.

Maybe newer releases of the classic game don't, but even emulators have the same patterns built into it I discovered.
Retro Game Mechanics Explained has a great video on how the ghosts actually behave, it's called 'Pac-Man Ghost AI Explained'. The ghosts don't directly follow the player, nor do they follow a pre-determined path.
I watched it in theaters with my nieces and nephews and we loved it.
As someone who was born in Janesville, raised in Northern Illinois and Chicago, this is the most Wisconsin channel on this app and I’m here for it.
This is one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies...
same but he has many gems imho
@jamesbond99 absolutely, I own almost every one of his movies.....only a few that I didn't care for
Lmao wait, those edited showing what else you guys react to has me giggling right now! especially 0:31-0:41 I cannot🤣
It's been in my mind quite a bit lately and I doubt all of you have seen it (if any)
The 94 gamboy edition allowed mario to throw and catch the hammer and climb latter's
26:20 It shows how badass mini coopers are
Actually the remake is better
(imho)
Seen this movie dozens of time. My young son loved it, favorite. So refreshing to be able to switch over from the cartoons.
I first came across this movie when I was 11, saw the poster in a magazine. It was Pac-Man facing the four "ghost" cars. It was the coolest thing in that whole magazine.
Watched it in the theatres, could not stop laughing. Definitely for those who played the games and knew the references.
This is one of my favorite movies. I've seen it a million times and don't get tired of it.
No, seeing it a MILLION TIMES is impossible. Stop trying to impress the people here. You're an imbecile.
Has BadMedicine reacted to Hidden Figures yet!!?? If not, it’s a MUST WATCH. Based on true events about NASA and all ❤
grew up watching and love it
I friggin' love your channel.
It's crazy how Adam Sandler movies in the US are all considered shitty movies but in Brazil everyone loves them 😮💨😭
Definitely an 8/10 my mom loves pac-man we had so much fun watching this it’s funny and just cool to put on and watch.
i love how peter portay billy mitchell, it was just on point and hilarious
Wreck-it-Ralph is the only other great movie with video games being the main storyline, I would love to see you guys react to that!! (if you haven't already)
I Loved this movie.... I'm an 80's child!
Pac-Man, Centipede, Froger, were my favorite video games! Lol.....and I loved how "what's his name from prison, the Fire Blaster, cheater guy" got his Wish! A date with Serena and Martha Stewart! 😂 and the guy who got the "beautiful blonde lady" from Qubert! 🤣 and Adam got the girl! 😁👍
Great fun movie played all these games as a kid I'll never forget the iconic sounds that boomed from the Arcade it was something special, Thanks guys.
I MEAN PETER ADAM KEVIN AND JOSH LIKE REALLY SERIOUSLY? I LOVE THIS CASTING 😭
This was one of my guilty pleasure movies for me as a kid and I got it for my 16th birthday and watched it a lot and saw it in theaters.
I'm 23 and knew about all things from the 80s when i was growing up watching 80s movies
This is the kind of creative idea I like to see in my movies, and no heavy-handed social messaging....just a fun ride.
Where I live in Japan, they always have this movie on in the clinic I go to when my sons catch a cold 😂
I love this movie I can't believe I'm only now finding out people have done reactions to it.
This is one of my favourite movies and I was so bored today and I went to UA-cam and saw this on my home page!
There are not enough reactions to this - thank you!
One of my favorite movies 😁
Pixels is my absolute favourite movie I love it, I think it's so underrated but it's an awesome movie. I love watching people react to it
5:08, 9:37 Galaga, 12:59 Arkanoid, 18:10 Centipede, 21:37 Duck hunt, 25:16 Pac-man, 28:38 Q*bert
32:43 Space invaders, Paper boy, Joust, 32:53 Frogger, 32:55 Robotron, 33:05 Tetris, 33:29 Smurfs 33:50 Dojo Quest, 35:04 Donkey Kong
Something to watch while I clean let's goooo!
56:03 Mark! I'm Viewer #89,327! 🎉 4.4K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 BM guys, you're welcome, and thanks! 😊
Notes: In random order before I forget them, okay!
❤ (The "Sweetheart" icon is based on the shape of a girl's butt as she leans forward!)
After I got that one, I tried to keep up.
My brother had people watching him! Where he used a QD or two on a game, for me to get as far, I needed a roll of them! That must have contributed to me tendinitis and other physical issues I have. 😢
I haven't seen "Pixels" since it was new in movie theaters though I have the DVD, it remains sealed until I have someone to view it with. 😮
I remember older ladies being impressed by the flexibility of the blonde in the red dress, while their grandchildren were impressed by her sex appeal and what they saw when she did that one flip! 😂😅
I remember some being disappointed that the movie lived up to the title because they were hoping for a lifelike interpretation! 😮 "They don't look real! They look like cartoons!"
The nerds offended by the first season of "The Big Bang Theory" were offended here too! "Why are they insulting us?!" 😮
If I had Jay Leno's wealth status, he and I would know each other in person, because we would be rivals at auctions! 😊 There would be "Mini Cooper" cars in my collection too!
I would have a private video game arcade too! 😊
I don't understand why fun or funny movies don't get the respect of dramas! Why do we need to cry for it to be a "good movie"? 🤔
Bye-bye for now! Namaste! 🙏
So the big robot is from Robotron. Really fun game!
Remember seeing this my junior/senior year of hs and loved it and was shocked by how many negative reviews it got!
Saw it in 3d at the theatre. As a lover of Adam Sandler comedy. It was fun
YESSSS IM SO READY TO WATCH!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
I choked on my lunch when the Oak said "vagg memories"
A great ride! The Pac Man scene was excellent.
what first got me was the great music lmao.
And I love the soundtrack music! All 80's!!
I'm not a big fan of Adam Sandler, but I love this movie. I think my favorite part of it is Adam Sandler does not try to be center stage all the time. He lets others take the limelight quite often, so you get his comedy (which I don't like much) diluted a bit and it makes the movie a great watch.
Same
You guys should watch the Great Ghatsby!!!
Still hoping to see you lads do the film 300 before long though . . . !!!
This movie was made for these guys. They just ate it right on up. 😂😂
Nice catch out of the gate, Oak! No crane kick in '82. Not sure bout a couple of those games too.
Yea karate kid was ‘84 wow that’s an oversight
